the truth was, no, she really wasn’t. anything he was saying was going in one ear and out the other as she walks towards the bench, her textbook open and resting on her forearms. every so often her eyes would drift up to assure she wasn’t going to bump into anyone, and to glance at tyler who was walking beside her rambling on with what seems to be excitement. “ a whole month? jeez. “ though she’s spent a lot of time anticipating going off to college and finally being free from her parents hold, juno couldn’t imagine being away from them for that long at this point of her life. 

the brunette sits beside him, but on the bench instead, placing her textbook down and swinging her bag on the other side of her. his words cause her brows to quirk up, tilting her head in rather searching though. “ okay, i have no idea what the hell you just said. “ and it has her second guessing herself for a beat because, yeah, juniper is usually the one saying big words. but as he continues, she lets out a breath, nodding her head. “ oh, poison. like, alcohol, right? “ what can she say? all she’s known was cheap beer and moonshine. “ uh, i don’t know. any kind of beer, i guess? i’m not really picky “

“ yeah, it’s a blessing from the gods. ” wicked smirk grows. being apart from him parents for that long was going to be exactly the refreshment he needed. & having the whole house to himself with the exception of his sister was icing on the cake. she didn’t bother him anyways. sure she was his sister so she could get under his skin if she really wanted to, but for the most part they were close. & they didn’t really have much to fight over. their parents did enough of it themselves. at worst they played minor mind games, & at the end of the day none of it mattered that much.
