Celestia reverts to behaving in a manner suitable for such a conversation that turned to a heavier topic. She had an inkling that there was a more complex reason for Ophelia to be gambling, so it was only natural that other gamblers would harbor questions to what her motives were. Who gambles just for the hell of it? Money and fame are all there is to it! Thoughts like that would commonly come across their minds. Celestia too, was after these things, but not as her main goals. At most, she had a small fortune and was the topic of conversation for many among the gambling scene, but never had she had the taste of true wealth or fame, something she would have to obtain in order to reach her own dream, which ironically, would be able to foster a bit of solitude for herself. Contrary to what others may have thought, it was what she preferred over company and crowds. She was an independent woman at heart, with conversation merely being a facet of entertainment when she grew bored of the silence. Fame would be troubling to deal with, that much was certain, but she was prepared for it.
“Mm, from the moment I have gotten to know you, you had struck me as the type who would care not for such mundane pursuits. Riches… Recognition… to me, they are only stepping stones towards my greatest ambition. With that said even, our goals are quite contrasting from one another. Though our final destinations may differ, it would not be presumptuous of me to say we walk the same path, that is, to the point it diverges at last.”
What she heard next nearly stopped the gambling lolita in her tracks. Trust. Since when had she heard that word directed towards her, asides a fool’s mouth? It was never, and this was no fool walking beside her, the proof being in her experiences alongside her up to this point. Celestia couldn’t toss titles such as rival to just anyone. It was frighteningly easy to take advantage of one’s trust and turn it against them for your own gain… something she had managed to do a number of times before, albeit to fools. Yet here, there was something to be gained from garnering the trust of this girl, rather than betray it. It was not something to be trashed, but perhaps be nurtured even? Ophelia felt like the closest thing to a friend she had had in her entire life. It was a strange feeling. The momentary warmth in her chest only served to remind her how much of a child she was on the inside. This is nothing to be giddy about. Of course she may be trying to use me herself, but… Warm feelings would never do anything good for her… they would only be followed by discomfort, much like the stickiness and humidity that would come with warm weather as well. It was bittersweet at best.
“It is reassuring to hear that from you, it truly is, even if you only mean it to an extent. You should know I hold value in such sentiments. …I too hold my own fair share of secrets, as you may have come to expect. Perhaps we’ll be able to share the stories regarding our humble beginnings as gamblers soon enough. But as we stand, it would probably do us better to talk of our strategy, now that we’re drawing closer to the tournament’s location.” Celestia hoped it didn’t sound like avoidance of the topic, because that’s exactly what it was. She didn’t want to get too softhearted with these talks of dreams and aspirations. It was hard for a cold woman to deal with such topics in large doses. It would do no good for a gambler to get emotional before a big tournament, as it would only work against her.
Yet it did get her to thinking. True destiny… that sounded ambitious in it’s own right, and rather thrilling. Celestia could not determine if it was something physical Ophelia strove for, like the castle Celestia longed, or if it was something mental, something that could be as simple, yet as evasive as a sense of fulfillment in what she did. With discovery came feelings of accomplishment.
-- ♕ ~ [ ♠ ] ~ ♕ -- Sentimental words they were, Ophelia held no grudge over for the change of topic. It was rather inappropriate when it did come up, but the talk of strategy was usually for the best. Then again, what strategy was there when gaming with another person? All a person must do was simply play the right cards for whoever placed them down. Mutual trust for winning games between two was often risky, but it was done. Their partnership was certainly of a harmonious one, and it wasn't even necessary for them to converse too deeply into it. However, the lilac-haired gambler herself simply did not care about what they discussed. She was a passive person by default unless it was necessary for her to push and persist. Being adamant. All this talk about fates and destinies crew dull after a while. Much less alone being in a tournament it was absolutely pathetic to even hear when something else was to occur. Holding up a poker face was mandatory and having thoughts focusing on the game was more important than anything else. Life and death could be used in certain games such as Russian Roulette. A twisted game of death, the winner would walk out with hefty awards out of sheer luck that the revolver was not pinned onto their own body. While Ophelia herself usually steered clear from such insane games, she preferred those where she didn't need to sacrifice an arm or a leg just to win something she simply didn't even care about. Again, hobby and just for fun. Second main reason why she went into it. First of course as stated before was to use this as an opportunity to explore the world and to push herself forward onto a path that was certainly meant to be hers. With such luck she could definitely get away with many things so long as diligence and proper work ethics were placed upon the table as well. ❝ With our chemistry, I find it not necessary. But I will not object to discussion about strategy. It is best to be aware of all possibilities of course, seeing we are here for something serious. I have nothing to say now, but you shall have your opportunity as we are nearing to the tournament. ❞ remaining composed, her feet continued to move towards the destination despite the tender moment she just had earlier. Years of training to be able to manipulate environments and even her own complexion was all of a challenge well worth acquiring. From stoic and composed to even flirtatious and saccharine, she had acquired it all as an experiment for her own benefit. Though with the other gambler, it seemed the natural state of her own behavior leaked out past the cracks of tenderness. Perhaps she truly did see the other girl as a friend. While she had her own that she conversed with daily, it was odd connecting to someone else. No less someone else who seemed to be your polar opposite. Alas, such matters did not matter to her at the very moment. Ophelia simply did not desire to mess up their opportunity for fame. More so, she was doing this for Celestia. Fame and wealth mattered not to her. She acquired it and treated it as a trophy from winning a race. Something to admire, but nothing to use to expand herself forward. Flaunting was not of her nature and many gamblers she had met would rub arrogance upon her features. Neutrality simply defused the situation and placed absolute apathy upon those who believed they could faze her. After what she went through, rarely anything traumatized or irritated her, but she was still human. A few years into gambling, it wasn't enough to lead her to a proper direction. However, days and even weeks she would remember her mother's words and final breath. Being a detective was certainly something difficult, yet it seemed well worth the efforts of finding the truth in some of the most dire situations. Strenuous, but adventurous. Ophelia believed a part of her should bypass the fear she sheltered, but another part of her told her otherwise. Shaking her head lightly at such thoughts, her head peered back up to face what was forward, making turns left and right until both she and Celestia were at the entrance of their destination.

Taeko’s words had a deep impact upon Kirigiri, the meaning that they bore weighing heavily upon her heart. They told a story in of themselves, one that contained the hardships through which the heiress had suffered and also about her feelings towards her own self. There was but a single request that she was asked to fulfill, one that she was bound to fulfill. The detective responded, “I won’t, I promise that to you.” She had pulled the crimson eyed girl in close once more in a protective gesture. Her heart ached from the pain that was evident in the other girl and it was now required that she do all in her power as a being to grant the wish she had been asked. For now, it was easily accomplished, she desired to remain with Taeko. However, this wish did not merely encompass the present, but that did not mean that it would go unfulfilled.
With all that had happened today, Kyouko had temporarily forgotten about the case that had brought her here in the first place. She had been distracted from her profession by the heiress and the emotions that she felt for her. However, the case was still open and the killer was still on the loose, so the sleuth remained bound to find this assassin and stop them. However, what the lilac eyed girl did not know was that said person was already in the process of carrying out the next step in their plans, they were already prepared to take out their next mark and this target was Taeko Yasuhiro.
Stealthily observing the mansion and all its inhabitants was this very assassin. Tonight would be the night that they strike, and if they are successful, they will kill the heiress. They had not yet entered into the mansion or surrounding land, but were instead surveying it all from a distance. Plans had been made and revised many a time over the prior months and now they were culminating in their finale. All was going as they wished, except for one thing that they had not foreseen, and that was Kyouko Kirigiri.
The killer was well armed, they had made sure to acquire a variety of weapons and they were well trained in their usage. Currently, both Kyouko and Taeko were out of view, however they did take note of the positions that all of the servants were in. Their assault when be launched when an opportunity to catch the crimson eyed girl when she was most vulnerable and least well guarded. Soon, the conflicted that had caused all this was about to reach its climax.
-- [ ♫ ❀ ♫ ] -- To have someone she just met promise her to be by her side was rather ridiculous. Perhaps it was a small, sadistic act to twist the blade a little. Taeko while not generally being manipulative wanted real comfort, a part of her felt terrible for pulling someone who was on the job to do this for her. Kirigiri was paid to solve a crime and a mystery of a series of assassinations. Not to ask her hand in marriage. Either way, the crimson-eyed girl huffed lightly as arms surrounded her in a more protective manner. She hadn't felt such embraces since of the deaths of her siblings as well as the days her father had changed his demeanor to one of utter cruelty. Her mother was still the same, but it left bitterness in her heart despite the one single shard of hope she had left. Her gaze lowered, chest beating with a paranoid sense of agony. She loved all her servants; especially Roy. There wasn't any doubt that perhaps death sought after her death and agony, but to her, she preferred to die over than losing anyone else. After all, her will was placed onto Roy to take over as he had been by her side for years. Sighing, Taeko allowed herself to bathe in a sense of warmth, comfort and of sacred promises. Promises were something meant to be broken. Like of roses frozen in winter, they were not meant to live. Even if they did, they would eventually perish over time as things as well were never eternal. It was why life and death shared a wonderful relationship. A trade of sorts. Unconditional love and it bore true promises to each other. Those involved were n e v e r promised anything. Her gut churned. Taeko felt as if the entire place was being watched, but made no comment upon it. It wasn't uncommon those who traveled by would stare in sheer wonder, but this was of a vindictive sense for a glance. Something she didn't appreciate. Something that was familiar to those of her half-siblings corrupting into berserk beings that desired freedom. Shuddering, her fingers immediately clutched onto the sleuth, nails digging into fabric and pressing onto pale flesh. Her eyes shut as she continued to tremble from the fear she felt. Something was right and it certainly would be right. Not when deaths were often connecting to her own line of business. Taking out the queen and king of a chess game meant the death of the entire structure. Why do I have to go through this? Such thoughts plagued her mind over and over. Even with Kirigiri arms protectively wrapped around her, she still felt lonely and vulnerable.

Summer vacation had finally begun, and Celestia had found herself back home in Utsunomiya, visiting. It had been a long while she had last came here due to her time spent in Hope’s Peak, but there was something clearly different about the city she grew up in, and she didn’t believe that it was her memory that was failing her. The city almost seemed to have expanded since she last laid eyes upon it, and the city skyline was overall taller, and dotted with many buildings she did not recognize. There was no way she could have been mistaken, growing up here, or that it was some kind of illusion or mind trick. This was all real, somehow. Landmarks were still present, indicating that this was still indeed her hometown. While the changes did not affect her personally, it was still something worth investigating. Before any of that, she would have to return home.
Luggage in hand, she calls for a cab to take her to her home address. The driver’s behavior was particularly strange as she entered the vehicle, appearing somewhat surprised at Celestia’s appearance. The gambler was used to people gawking at her for her choice of attire, but this driver’s focus was set on her face, and not her clothing, as if he recognized her. She found it unlikely that she was acquainted with this average middle-aged man, casting aside his reaction and voicing her address. The driver affirms the request, a bit nervously at that, and sets course for her house. She remained observant of the scenery during the drive, further confirming that this was indeed the same city she had left for school months prior.
It was not until she was nearing her address that Celestia began to notice a drastic change. The homes and businesses that once lined her neighborhood were nowhere to be found, and in their place, a large wall, the type meant to border an estate. She furrows her brows, already suspicious of these new surroundings. None of this should exist, she was sure of it.The taxi leaves her in front of a large gate, and she exits upon paying the fare, hands tightened to a vice-like grip around the handle of the suitcase. The home’s nameplate? Yasuhiro, it read. Was this a joke? There was no reason to be laughing, Celestia wanted to know the meaning of this, and now.
The gambler stomps angrily to the buzzer for the intercom system, pressing it impatiently and repeatedly. The blood in her hand was boiling, and it was all she could do to keep it from spreading to the rest of her body, which would prompt a full blown display of her monstrous temper. Civility. Civility. Civility, she kept repeating in her mind. Of course, this wasn’t a proper way to display herself, but how could she respond to what, undoubtedly was, a lie standing right before her? There was no logical reason why any of this should exist, not without her say so. …So why? If this was somehow her parents’ doing, she would disown them, no questions asked. However she yet reminded herself that there would be no jumping to conclusions however unlikely until she received a proper answer.
-- [ ♫ ❀ ♫ ] -- Normally such spamming of the intercom would provoke utter irritation from the heiress. It was life. Dealing with business people and the impatient it was common practice, but having such a professional background, it was mandatory that she had to remain calm, composed and formal when greeting guests whether from of society's norm or those of high-class state such as her. Crimson hues halted from the documents to peer at the surveillance cameras that identified the culprit that had been interrupting her peace and quiet. Upon sight of the gambler, the raven-haired heiress couldn't help but sigh. It had been eons since the last time she had met an alternate. Whether it was the same one or not it was up for debate. Her servants knew their master's experiences. Taeko enjoyed conversing with them to break out of the static formality for a more casual setting. She preferred to blend in with the average instead of the strenuous and pretentious. It bugged her no tomorrow as she was stripped of her life since birth. Regardless, her own wallowing of despair was to be shoved aside as it was obvious the temper of the mirror image was frantic. Deciding she was better off being the one to converse with her, the heiress forced her own feet from her seat, grabbing the vest of her jacket. Putting it on, she wasn't wearing the typical gothic lolita type of style. That was saved for when she was out of work as of a coping mechanism for her own choice and life. With a white blouse, black jacket and a red tie, her lower body was covered by a skirt that was typical for office women to wear. It was bland needless to say, but she was left with no choice. Slamming her fist onto a certain button, the gates opened as well as the servants opening the door for their mistress to leave the mansion. A saccharine smile forced itself upon her expression as she approached Celestia. Once meeting the other girl's identical crimson colored gaze, the heiress began to speak, smile dispersing as quickly as it had appeared. ❝ Flustered aren't you, Celestia Ludenberg? ❞ came the response. It was almost of an unintentional taunt, but it was the facade of a broken businesswoman. ❝ It's not often I meet an alternate. It's been a while. I'm not sure what exactly you're here for, but I will assume you want to know why the place...rings odd for you, no? You simply wandered into another timeline. Taeko Yasuhiro. Celestia Ludenberg. Names I all go by as well. However...I am the SHSL Heiress. ❞ Eyes trailed down to the luggage. This was when her brows furrowed lightly. It would be of a conflicting situation for the alternate to run off and do her own business. It would potentially sour her reputation. Worse it would confuse society even more by having them both wander around. There was certainly enough room in her mansion to host an entire family ( maybe even more ), but there were things that were best not to be revealed even if it was a person composed of the same DNA and basic forms of personality. The heiress had made sure her spacing between them both was sufficient as any violence towards her would be easily capable of being thrown off its course. Taeko's head tilted lightly, returning her gaze back to the gambler, awaiting for her response. Angry or not, it didn't matter. She was here to settle down matters and get her job done. After all, that was how it has been for ages.

Oh, so it was just to see if anything new needed to be provided to the nurse’s office to ensure that they could fully do their job. Well that certainly made Tsumiki feel a good bit better as it did solidify that she hadn’t done anything wrong to invoke the inspection. However, it did make her a bit nervous too. Nervous that she might not be doing the very best that she could be doing in maintaining order and organization in the nurse’s office and might possibly cost them from receiving anything new–should they actually need anything or course. Which she wondered if the nurse had requested for something and that was why they were being judged, so to speak, at the moment.
But she would just have to hope that everything would be okay. After all, it wasn’t like too much more could be able to be done with anything. At least, not without sparking possible red flag that things were possibly worse then what the other might be seeing now. But Tsumiki did want to at least have some confidence in her ability to do her job properly.
However, that confidence was a bit shaken when Taeko mentioned a bottle of unlabeled pills along with their request to see some of the paperwork. And it took her a good bit of thinking back before she remembered why the bottle was there. “O-oh right, I believe that w-we had to use an unmarked bottle because a bottle h-had been damaged during shipment b-before it arrived here. And of course we didn’t want to p-place a damaged bottle out on the shelves. So we had refilled as much o-of the medication into t-the current open bottle as we could before filling a-an unmarked one, where we’ve been pulling that medication out of for use s-so that we can quickly remove it b-because it is unmarked.” Which she hoped was alright with the girl, but she did understand if it would reflect poorly on them. “Ah, r-right um, let me go get t-that paperwork for you really quickly.” she added a few moments later, letting the other ponder of what had been said as she gathered up the needed documents.
-- [ ♫ ❀ ♫ ] -- Crimson hues blinked for a couple of seconds. While the explanation of the medication being unlabeled was plausible, but it didn't answer her question that she had asked. She wasn't part of the medical field by any means--despite studying basic information about it in case she did need assistance with it. Regardless, the heiress waited patiently for the documents. Perhaps it would explain the medication if she could pinpoint each and every one of them. Then again, that was being too lenient and wasteful of time. Taeko had other matters to deal with later on and thus such a thing was not necessary. Though, her own persona was of a intimidating one and thus there was a certain fear of shaking up the timid nurse even further. Alas, sacrifices were necessary to be made and she will ask once more. While waiting for the documents would take such little time, being productive during seconds was always beneficial. Eyes removing themselves from glancing at the blaring white that was placed down onto the counter by her hand, Taeko glanced at the other medications to see if there were any other cases similar to this. Everything was still organized--at least decently enough to be easily identifiable. Vitamins and minerals were placed in a separate cabinet as well as painkillers and even poisons. She would eventually move on from the capsuled drugs to more so utility, examining each quality of blades, needles, and other morbid like devices that could be used to perform on a person. Morbid of a thought it was, most of the blade quality was rarely touched and was in tip-top condition. Abundance was another and this was indicating that such material was not needed to be replaced or upgraded. A delicate hand grabbed onto the handle of the refrigerator, opening it to find sacs of blood piled on top of each other. Seeing blood was not something pleasant for her, but it did not trigger her to relapse into painful memories. Reaching forward, she pulled a couple out to examine them. Type O, Type B-, Type AB+. Blood types were labeled and that was satisfactory. Placing the blood packs back into their places, the heiress closed the door with her foot to grab her board and documents to jot down her examinations.
◣ Tᴀᴇᴋᴏ ◥
The crimson eyed girl responded, “Good because I want to stay cuddled up with you.” Her arms momentarily squeezed a tad tighter as she nuzzled Kyouko. Small kisses were placed onto the other girl until she left a final one on the gambler’s lips. Her desire to shower her lover in affections had neither lessened nor ceased, the warmth and scent of the other girl also continued to satisfy her. Her hands brushed through lavender hair and she adored its smooth, silky texture. This moment was a type of heaven to Celes and she wanted to savor every fraction of its existence. This tender displays of love and care would continue until the ride to their dinner drove up.
As she continued to smother Kirigiri in affection, the sleuth began to wonder if and how they would tell their classmates. As of now, they had not told any of their peers about their relationship. She had not told anyone that she planned on asking the gambler out and had also not told anyone that they were now together. It would probably amount to nothing more than simple congratulations when they told their classmates and it would likely get out eventually given how they would be acting around one another. So the question was, more so how they would tell them. Perhaps they should tell their closer friends first and then let everyone else figure things out themselves.
It was not long before it drew near to the time that they were to be picked up, although Celestia herself was only partly aware of this as she was to absorbed in all that was going on to notice this fact in its entirety.
-- ♕ ~ [ ♠ ] ~ ♕ -- Taeko's grasp upon her figure was tenacious. Not that Kirigiri had minded at all. Such physical touch and warmth was always welcomed and this itself only made the gambler smile happily. A small chuckle evaporated from her tongue, arms and fingers pressing gently against fabric. Each kiss was accounted for--reciprocated back with just as much passion and desire when she first received them. Though verbal words have been silenced by gestures, her kind and giving mindset at the very moment did give itself a welcoming aura that allowed the raven-haired detective to do as she pleased. An eternity Kirigiri would have to be in this position. Serenity. Harmony. Such traits were ever so pleasing to her ear and lifestyle. None of them had it peaceful as gambling was risky as well as being a detective. There was always the constant fear of losing the other, but that was not the main topic of emotion at the very moment. It was best to keep horrendous things away from such pure events such as this. While she was rather much of a 'social butterfly' within her own facade, Kirigiri would most likely give it away that her relationship status had changed. It wasn't much of a big deal for others to know seeing it was to spread like bird's wings on a bright sunny day. For the detective's sake, the lavender-eyes gambler believed it was wise for her to make the move on who would know first. It was more so for comfort as Kirigiri preferred to appreciate her partner's necessities over her own. It would nerve-wracking as well--to a certain extent in revealing the truth to others. She knew the world itself was of a cruel place. Many did not appreciate certain happenings and made such big deals out of it ( which itself is unnecessary ). Each second continued to tick by, and Kirigiri kept her focus on the time as well as her newly acquired lover. It seemed of a difficult thing to accomplish, but it was all necessary so that she wouldn't keep the driver waiting. A few minutes had passed, but it was also evident that her phone will be vibrating and ringing if he had arrived. Most likely it would be a text message. It didn't seem to be that much of a big deal for her to be called to just merely mention of arrival. Though some people would do it. Any method was suitable.

“Oh, you wound me with highlighting my unsavory qualities, but I am sure the two of us will be able to restrain ourselves, professionalism and all. But, should I happen to… exert my temper, I know I can rely on you to clean up after any storm I bring about. In return, I will make sure you stay focused and attentive to the game.” A tiny snort escapes her, as she takes humor in this exchange. The chances of either of them doing what she described were slim, but nonetheless it was just like the two of them to prod at each other like this. Different, but the same, they both shared a talent for gambling, but approached it with contrasting attitudes. Since they had known each other for a time already, it was inevitable that Ophelia would eventually bear witness to Celestia’s “other side.” At first she found it surprising that Ophelia would stick around after such, but she appreciated the fact she did.
Celestia valued Ophelia as both a sort of rival as well as partner, but showing that appreciation or even affection was somewhat unknown and unfamiliar to her. Perhaps she could see Ophelia as a friend as well, but… what exactly was a friend? Unable to come up with an answer, the most Celestia could do at this stage was this light teasing, content with knowing that her words are not being taken to heart or offense. She happened to be the first person Celestia met that was her age who also partook in these high stakes thrills, so at the very least, there could be some manner of kinship between them as gamblers, regardless of how each of them approached the activity. Seeing that the other gambler had prepared herself, she joins by her side, anticipation for the coming event showing through her features.
“Right then. Let us be off.”
Occupying the spot on Ophelia’s right, the two could now set off towards their destination with everything else out of the way. With the tournament being fairly local, walking to the location wouldn’t end up being much of a hassle, but on the off chance that they wished to arrive earlier than usual or prevent lateness, a taxi or other mode of transportation wasn’t out of the question either. Being out by themselves in the evening wasn’t much of a problem for Celestia, since she carried her various means of self defense. A mugger would have to think twice before threatening her or her friend.
“Ophelia, might I ask… though you treat gambling as a hobby, is there anything you wish to ultimately gain from partaking in such an activity, if not riches or recognition? …Could it be you simply enjoy the thrills it has to offer, or is it something else entirely?” Celestia merely questioned it as a way to pass the time as they walked, but she was in fact curious. She knew Ophelia didn’t gamble for the same reasons she did, but there was never a moment when Celestia fully inquired about those reasons. “You needn’t answer me, of course. I ask solely with the intent of sating my curiosity.”
-- ♕ ~ [ ♠ ] ~ ♕ -- Sighing, Ophelia knew that the other gambler was of a short fuse. The ticking bomb on her would either blow up immediately or simply stall at the zeros to taunt and frighten. After what the lilac-haired gambler herself experienced, such wrath only made her frown at most while majority of her expressions would remain dull and stoic. Celestia would often frighten other people--including grown, intimidating men. Ophelia cared not for reputation or the use of fear. She was of a simple and casual plebeian within the ranks of other high-ranking gamblers from all over the place. Many found her to be of an enigma, speaking little yet very much all at the same time. Regardless, she paid no heed to Celestia's light teases, knowing that it was best for her sanity ( plus she didn't have anything else to say regarding her sudden sleepiness prior to the venture to the tournament ).
Twisted words i m p a l e d her chest when questions were asked. Ophelia was simply doing this for a hobby as she said many a time before, but it was a hidden motive of hers to use the skills she acquired to find her true destiny in life. For many years she yearned to be a detective like her mother, but fate twisted the blade ever so cruelly as blood stained innocence quite too quickly. The gambler never did find herself capable of following the same fact out of fear and due to because of the name she bore with her mother. Her father's name was Jin Kirigiri, a business man who owned few businesses and a casino that she would frequently be around in. Her mother was certainly of a different family name until she was wed and thus her reputation as a Kirigiri detective was prominent in society. This itself would be of a red target onto her back if her true identity was reveal. Kyouko Kirigiri hid herself as Ophelia Kaylock for that mere reason. Celestia to her was of an awkward friend. They bickered, yet they also trusted each other to a certain extent. This was certainly enough of a bond that Ophelia herself would remark towards to with some of the deeper answers pent up in her heart and mind.
❝ Riches? Recognition? I care not about such things in my life. Those are of bonuses that I will acquire overtime, but I rather not have the world pin its gaze upon me. My motive out of all of this is certainly different...far more different than the other gamblers. ❞ Her tone sunk down to a more soft--yet solemn one, words of sharpened blades ready to strike at any given moment. ❝ I trust you...to a certain extent Celestia. So you will hear some of it. A secret I have among other darkened ones. I simply went into gambling due to my discovery of my luck. Winning over and over in any of these games motivated me to assist me in finding my true destiny as a human being. I wasn't ever planning to be a gambler...until of recent years of course, but that may be of a different tale to tell you later. ❞

“A-ah, yes I do suppose t-that’s true. I guess I’m j-just a bit used to hearing about things like this b-being more secretive or confidential of nature.” she explained, “Though um, is t-this something l-like a standard inspection of s-sorts?” she asked.
Then at the mention of how they would start she nodded in agreement. “Ah y-yea, s-sorry about that. This is just my first t-time doing anything like this is a-all.” But she was glad that Taeko seemed to be rather understanding of her nervousness, which helped to lower her nerves a little bit. After all, she knew how easily she could have gotten someone who would have been annoyed by her lack of confidence and experience with something like this.
Following the other over to the medicine cabinet, she watched and waited while Taeko began looking over the contents. “W-we have,” she answered the other’s question, “Especially s-since the warmer weather has brought i-in some people experiencing issues w-with their allergies and a few cases o-of a bug or two traveling around the school. Though I’ve been m-making sure to keep a record of our inventory so t-that every visit or prescription is w-well accounted for in the event t-that we’d end up being unexpectedly short at any t-time. Or so that we know w-what we might have to o-order in extra bulk to m-make sure that we’re prepared.”
-- [ ♫ ❀ ♫ ] -- ❝ Standard inspection? It's more so of a check to see if any upgrades can be given. It's a desire to check upon the status of the infirmary seeing Hope's Peak Academy has a splendid reputation. ❞ Taeko mused lightly to herself, right hand jotting down notes quickly--yet neatly in cursive. The nurse's statement wasn't wrong it seemed as some of the bottles were lighter than the duplicates. The heiress had made sure to take note of these things; every detail was critical when it came to modern medicine as lives were usually involved in this. Crimson eyes continued to skim through the cabinets that were filled with the medications. Pain killers, medications for allergies, colds, and every other possible common thing was organized and placed accordingly. Each bottle was labeled as well with typical popular brands and the like, yet there was something that had caught her eye. With her mostly free left hand, the raven-haired girl reached forward to pick up a white bottle that seemed to be without a label of any sort. Crimson eyes blinked a few before lifting the cap off of it. The brown clipboard was placed down, freeing both hands as Taeko gently bounced the bottle in her left hand to release a few of the medication onto her right hand. It was typical for medicine; white with a small number indicating the dosage, yet it was unfamiliar all the same. Once analyzing the material, she placed it back into the bottle before facing the nurse to question it. Of course she would have to ask for the documents in the numbering and writing of keeping track of the usage of medications alongside with her question about the unlabeled bottle of medicine. ❝ I appreciate the information given to me, Tsumiki-san. I would request that you allow me to view these documents you speak of as it's also important for me to keep track of it. Also...do you know what exactly is in this bottle? Unlabeled and anonymous, I for one cannot tell from looking nor do I wish to c o n s u m e it to attempt to figure out what it does. ❞ The last bit of her statement was of a small teasing joke to lift partially of the solemn mod she created. The heiress wasn't the best at cracking jokes, but she did make light of certain scenarios for her own comfort and for anyone else involved with the business.

The detective paused for a moment to think over what the gambler had stated. She lacked the resources that Kyouko possessed and thus would be unable to cover much of the cost of dinner at a high end restaurant like the one that was mentioned. However, if that was the case she would do what she could to help cover the bill. Taeko also did not want to eat at too cheap of a restaurant as it did not seem fitting for the other girl. She did have some extra money saved up but even then she may not be able to pay for half of it depending on just how expensive it was. After her moment of thinking, the crimson eyed girl had decided how she would respond.
“We can head to that restaurant if it is the one you want, I just can’t promise that I will be able to pay for my half of it. Although I do still intend to help pay. I do not really have any other places in mind and it would be nice to experience a meal somewhere like that, especially with you. So we could head there.”
Once she had finished her statement, Yasuhiro nuzzled into her girlfriend once more. These acts of affection continued to please her, the warmth and softness of the other girl was like a drug to her. She loved giving this tender actions to Kirigiri and also adored their return. Another gentle kiss was placed onto the gambler and a smile was still present on the sleuth’s face.
If it would take them thirty minutes to get to arrive at the restaurant they should likely leave shortly. Although Taeko did not know how exactly they would get there, she did not have a vehicle of her own, but she supposed the Kyouko likely had someone who could take them or at the very least hire a taxi.
-- ♕ ~ [ ♠ ] ~ ♕ -- Kirigiri paused for a moment. Now the gambler was aware quite clearly the other girl didn't have much money to spare. It was inevitable and there wasn't really much to it, but at the same time, the lilac gambler did want to treat her newly found girlfriend to a nice dinner. She wasn't sure what Taeko's eating habits were, but certainly they weren't as eloquent as hers. Having her father be of a successful business manager and owning a few businesses including casinos, it wasn't any doubt that money was of abundance to her ( alongside with her own earnings--which are sadly illegal in Japan but nonetheless they were done ). White silk gloved hands gently caressed the detective's back, shortly, quickly--yet soothing all at the same time. The nuzzling was very well appreciated; the warmth and affection never ceased to cause a loving sensation of warmth, comfort and adoration in return. Of course she couldn't nuzzle the detective back all due to the sole reason that her right hand had trailed down her own body to find where her cellular device was located. Her fingers gently tapped onto the screen, messaging one of the workers that her father had worked closely with him and the rest of the family. He was certainly one of the people who was very young when he first worked in the business, but she grew to view him as of an older brother who would be by her side when the time was right. It was rather silly to request a ride with her girlfriend to a restaurant, but the trust bestowed towards him was evident as Kirigiri herself would not take advantage of his kindness. The worker himself was simply almost of her father's bodyguard, but regardless he was capable of being transported back and forth without crippling any important deeds. Smart move of hers after all. Public transit was always hectic and rather gross at times; hence forth why she preferred private transportation and ease of comfort over mobility and easier a c c e s s. Once done with her messaging, the lavender-eyed gambler placed her phone back into her pocket in the jacket she was wearing before continuing the affection with her lover. ❝ The ride should be here in fifteen minutes. By then we can remain like this until we have to go. ❞ came the response, allowing the other girl to be notified of the upcoming changes in their positions and situations. Kirigiri didn't say much afterwards; she merely nuzzled and remained snug in Taeko's embrace and loving gestures for now.
◣ Kɪʀɪɢɪʀɪ ◥
The detective had fallen for Taeko Yasuhiro for her personality and it all had occurred inexplicably fast, however this was rather fitting for the heiress. She was on a level above the common human. However, this alone was not enough to cause Kyouko’s actions. From her time speaking with the crimson eyed girl she had grown affectionate feelings for her, it was difficult for her mind to explain why except for the fact that she found the other girl absolutely wonderful. As for why the sudden gestures had been given and why she had begun to have worries about the heiress, she had picked up on Taeko’s sorrow and it was because of this that she wanted to support her.
Kirigiri had enjoyed giving the gesture the warmth and softness of the other girl was more than mere satisfaction. She wanted more of it but would not do anything further unless the heiress invited it. However, she did keep her hand laced together with Taeko. Even through the leather gloves that she was wearing she could feel the refined and delicate nature of the girl’s hands. Everything about this girl spoke of her status as an elite of the elite, one who was on level with royalty.
The lilac eyed girl responded, “I am not generally this soft but I suppose that with you that is no longer true. However, it is a requirement that I worry about your well being, I care about you and I want you to be happy. Even if you can succeed on your own, help can make it all the easier and I am willing to do so.”
The sleuth was wondering what the cause of the other girl’s pain was and sought answers. Whether or not she attempted to find out by snooping around was an unknown at this point in time as there were too many factors that could dictate what events occurred. She did not want to impede upon Taeko’s privacy except in the case that she thought doing so was absolutely necessary. Kirigiri would not do something of that sort to someone whom she cared for without a highly important reason. However, it was still possible that she would stumble upon this information in a different fashion, she had a knack for finding things out after all.
-- [ ♫ ❀ ♫ ] -- If the heiress could do something at this moment, her throat would have made an audible whine of embarrassment. The heiress was flattered, and despite the two working together in business related matters it seemed that it had e s c a l a t e d to something more familiar and platonic in terms of their current conversation. Taeko received plenty of flattery in her life, but it grew dull after a while. It was all because of the work she put unto herself for a specific image that had caused such things. Simply everyone was selfish and thus her own personal life remained a secret ( except to her best servant, Roy ), but either way, Kirigiri was one person who did hear more than the average person. Such detail wasn't of abundance, but it was still something more implicating more than what met the eye. Glossed nails gently dug into purple leather gloves. A part of the heiress grew reluctant to let go--despite selfish and foolish of her, it was certainly out of character for a formal, well-known business woman to succumb to affectionate desire. Aware that the grip of their hands had tightened ( rather possessively no doubt about it ), the crimson-eyed heiress kept her gaze down and away, pinned onto their hands as the sleuth continued to speak. Since how long ago did she hear such compassion and words directed to her? It had been years and being within solitude that disguised itself as bitter and agonizing loneliness, she knew for one that allowing herself to act recklessly due to emotion was prohibited. A strong, confident woman was to be portrayed no matter who she spoke to, but in reality, Taeko had felt more of a burden and a scapegoat more than anything else. It was this very reason that caused her body to tremble lightly--overwhelmed by such kindness given to her despite the short amount of time that she knew the lilac-haired detective. ❝ Y-you don't need to, Kirigiri. ❞ Her voice rang of an unsteady chime in small winds; it grew difficult to stop the emotional outcomes that continued to reveal past through her regular complexion. ❝ However, I cannot force you to abide to my words as you yourself are your own person. ❞ Pausing, a shaky breath was given out, the trembling of her body ceased. Slowly gazing upwards to meet Kirigiri's amethyst colored gaze, the heiress released her grip before gently wrapping her own two hands around the sleuth's own hands, drawing them closer to where her heart resided. Perhaps it was a confession, but it was one where she wasn't knowing why she had done so. Taeko wasn't trusting of others so easily, but her kindness and generosity was very easy to see. At the same time, perhaps even a moment of trust flickered within the darkness of her own life, finding this an opportunity to help gain part of her lost sanity and as well to fulfill partially some of her own desire in life. ❝ If you do choose to reside with me then I do have one request of you. But I do not expect that much from you as I am accustomed to such betrayal, heartbreak and of broken promises. ❞

Taeko Yasuhiro looked back into lilac eyes, the eyes that meant the world to her. Purple objects would often remind her of the gambler, especially if their hues closely matched the other girl’s. All of their current affections and position were a heavenly experience for the sleuth and she did not want it to end. Her own hand had made its was to the lavender hair of Kyouko’s and began to gently brush through it. Her other hand took hold of her lover’s hand on her face as she leaned down to place a tender peck onto her lips once more. The front of Taeko’s body was warmed by Kirigiri’s and she was still able to make out her elegant aroma.
The detective replied, “And that day will never come as I always want to hear you say those words and return them in kind. I love you, Kyouko Kirigiri. You are the one who has set my heart ablaze and the one who brings a smile to my face.” A short pause followed this statement as Yasuhiro kissed the gambler once more before continuing, “And I would be more than grateful for your help in paying for our dinner but I am definitely going to chip in as well. Is there anywhere that you have in mind to go, my love?”
The crimson eyed girl had addressed Kyouko as “my love” without thinking about it, it came naturally to her mouth as it was most definitively true. She had fallen completely for the other girl, today had provided the final push to send her over the edge of that cliff. Not that she minded, being able to spend all this time and share all of this affection with the gambler was the most wonderful experience she held. She wanted to spend an eternity with her lover and tonight would be the beginning of it. It did not matter where they were to dine, only that she be with Kirigiri. Taeko’s commitment to help pay was honest but depending on where they went it may not make that great of a percentage of the bill. She had only a small amount of money that could be spent in excess of her usual eating habits and thus she could not put in all that much.
The occasional kiss or nuzzling continued to be placed onto the gambler as the detective laid on top of her and time slowly went on. Her hand had continued to gently comb through Kyouko’s hair and her breath was relaxed. Taeko was enjoying every second of this.
-- ♕ ~ [ ♠ ] ~ ♕ -- Face with a blush, the lilac-haired gambler averted her eyes away. Kirigiri hadn't been used to such things despite being constantly swarmed with flirtatious affections and the like. Yet, it was ever so different when innocent and unconditional love was given instead of lustful gestures. The detective in front of her had charmed her indirectly with such stoic behavior as well as with a hint of mischievous play all in itself. Delicate fingers ran through her hair which caused her body to tremor lightly in pleasure from the sensation that both caused a tingly feeling but also of ease. Taeko's words had spiked her heartbeat to nearly skip its beat from the way she was addressed. Sighing softly, she continued to nuzzle into the other girl on top of her while pondering on where they should go for dinner. There were many places she went to dine. Most were of high priced quality that would definitely cause wallets to be empty very quickly. Yet, her own funds were of large amounts and plenty was saved. She certainly had enough to support herself for a while as well if she did somehow ended up homeless for what ever reason. Kirigiri didn't like walking for too long either as it simply exhausted her. The closest place that was near here was approximately of a half an hour ride to the restaurant. At most, she could call for one of her father's workers to help her seeing they treated her with respect ( and of a princess due to her father being the manager ). ❝ I know of a high-class restaurant that is of a half hour ride from here. However, the prices are rather tremendous...so if you believe you are unable to pay for it, then I can suggest some other place if need be. Unless you have a place in mind. Or I could simply pay for it all seeing I do not mind. ❞ Waiting for the detective's response, Kirigiri sighed softly to herself as she passively allowed herself the affectionate treatment from the other girl. Her arms wrapped around the raven-haired girl's neck, gently running her fingers up and down the girl's back in small motions before running one hand through her hair. The gambler enjoyed the feeling of touch and appreciated the texture of her fingers running through the strands and skin.
Each moment had ticked by, but the gambler wouldn't trade it for anything else. She could certainly spend her entire day in her lover's arms, gently basking in soft and loving words, touches, warmth and even events together. Kirigiri wouldn't ever dare admit this due to her true nature of being composed and stoic, but she knew for once that it was ever so difficult to force down a smile, a giggle or even a gesture of loving kisses to the other girl. Certainly time and fate had granted her some mercy but this was all she needed right now to improve her lifestyle of distrust.

Tsumiki nodded, “Then a-as long as you’re alright with m-me calling you Taeko.” Though the second name did confuse things a little bit as she wanted to make sure to use what the other preferred. But, at the same time, it seemed like preference was spread equally to both in this situation–as did the consent for Tsumiki to use either name she wished. So she guessed that the best course of action was to just continue using the first name she had been given so she didn’t end up over thinking things too much. Which was something that the nurse often did to herself.
“Oh y-yes of course.” she said as she was ready to show Taeko around, though she wasn’t really sure where to begin. But before she could come up with a place to start her thoughts were stopped as the reason why there was an inspection came up. “Um..I-I mean if you’re not really supposed to s-say then I wouldn’t want to force you to t-tell me. And since I’m o-only an assistant here I’m not sure i-if I would be allowed to k-know either, depending on w-what the reason might be. Especially if i-it was a complain of service or c-conditions that brought you h-here.”
-- [ ♫ ❀ ♫ ] -- A dry chuckle left the heiress's expression. If she wasn't suppose to speak of anything, she wouldn't have implied that it was free to ask, wasn't it? Celestia was mindful that the other girl was treading carefully around each subject in case something wrong was said. It wasn't hard to find that quality in many people and the confidence and intimidating aura she had may bear upon those who were unaccustomed to such deeds. ❝ You have no need to be concerned about complaining about certain things. I did say you are free to ask anything of me if you so wish. For now, Perhaps we shall work in a clock-wise direction? You seem lost. ❞ She was far more fascinated with the medical substances than anything else. With a checklist in her arm, the heiress simply walked over to the cabinets before realizing of course that there was a lock. Crimson hues blinked at it before pulling at the handle to see that it was unlocked. Celestia began looking through the medical supplies without messing any order and she had turned to the nurse to address a question about them. ❝ Has there been any use of the medical supplies in the past few months? ❞ Fingers clutched onto the pen and the clipboard, gaze fixated onto the timid girl who she awaited a response from. Questions would come by one by one so not to overwhelm the other girl.

Stepping into the room, it was an amusing sight to see her usually alert partner in such a state. She tsks, shaking her head lightly in a mock disappointed way, with no intention of masking the smile that had spread across her visage.
“Oh? Was that the case? It seems to me like you had forgotten to take your evening cup of coffee. I would certainly like to see how you plan on making any winnings if you fall asleep at the table. I am unsure that even I could manage such a feat… simply awe inspiring…” She was joking of course, merely taking the opportunity to poke fun at her, which proved to be more enjoyable than she thought. A small giggle emits from her after her statement, going to show she wasn’t irritated in the least. They were still on track to arriving on time, but it would be convenient to arrive a little early before activity heightened at the tournament location. Celestia could have attended by herself and still win a hefty amount, but bringing Ophelia along always made for a more enjoyable experience, with their own fortunes clashing or aiding each other through the games.
They worked surprisingly well as a team, given their different mindsets, with Celestia aiming for wealth and riches, while Ophelia merely treated gambling as a hobby. Their personalities didn’t seem to match their styles of play, as you would expect someone playing for fun to be less stone faced, and someone playing for benefit to be less whimsical, and yet here the two of them stood.
“You missed a spot, dear.” A hand extends to smooth out a tuft of hair that had risen from her partner’s head, no thanks in part to the rest she must have been taking before Celestia had arrived. “Now, what must I do to prevent you from dozing off, hmm?” She lightly pokes the nose of the other gambler, becoming overly invested in teasing the poor girl for her unpreparedness, to the point she had forgotten to take a look at the time herself. But really, how could she not make the most out of an effort to poke fun at her partner and rival?
-- ♕ ~ [ ♠ ] ~ ♕ -- ❝ Of course I do not plan on sleeping during the match. What kind of gambler would I be if that were to be the case? ❞ Ophelia scoffs lightly to herself--jokingly of course. She was aware that her companion was simply pestering and prodding at her lightly for what had occurred. At least she was prepared hours earlier than usual. A light blush appeared onto her expression as a delicate hand had groomed her own hair. Certainly she had taken care of that didn't she? Long hair was troublesome and this the lilac-haired gambler knew. It would take hours for her to do anything with it and thus a simply braid was enough to create a unique blend of style that may or may not clash with her own outfits. Celestia's help was appreciated and thus Ophelia nodded slowly once to express her gratitude for catching the slight kink in her dreadlocks. Entering a game looking like a mess would only make the other gambler upset with her and plus she didn't need to hear scolding as she disliked such a thing. Entering a game together at such a young age was impressive, but Ophelia knew for a fact that she truly wasn't meant to be a gambler. Celestia was passionate and dedicated in saving funds while she simply did this as a hobby or simply because she had discovered she was talented in critical thinking and games. Even then, falling asleep in the match wouldn't seem so bad after all as their luck had been on par with each other. She wouldn't fall asleep but with such a question, she was tempted to answer back seriously yet jokingly all the same but decided to keep it at a bare minimum. ❝ If I do fall asleep, you might as well flip the table or shove me aside. Knowing how quick-tempered you are, certainly I wouldn't expect to not be on the ground after. Heh. I assure you, I will not. Even if I do, you are free to nudge me ever the case I do doze off or seem spacey. ❞ Checking her belongings once more, Ophelia held the bag in her right hand, white silk covered hand grasping the handle tightly. Taking a few steps forward, the gambler stopped to peer back at the gothic gambler before motioning her head lightly to get going. They simply couldn't loiter here all day seeing they would be late or disqualified. By going now, they would be able to converse a bit prior to their round ( which was what she preferred for now ), and even to converse after their matches to split winning and discuss other methods of strategy. Plus they attended to the same academy with the same title. It wasn't hard to find each other to socialize if need be.

The feeling of Taeko’s hands clawing into her back did not phase Kirigiri, it was not enough to hurt her. Hearing the other girl’s words, she realized that it really had only been one day, yet it felt much longer to her. It was odd how quickly she had developed feelings for the heiress, however it had happened nonetheless. It was not like she had fallen madly in love with her at the first glance, however, it did take some time and she was still only in the early stages of her emotions in a relationship. Taeko was what could be considered a crush of sorts to her, only she had also welcomed these emotions. The sleuth was not aware of exactly how the other girl felt about her but knew that she was likely less in love than she was, but she did not care too much that this was the case. As for why she had gone as far as showing the other girl these affections. that was caused by the heiress’s obvious sorrow spiking up her care for the crimson eyed girl.
She replied, “I suppose it is true that we have only met today, however, it would be even less wise to lie to you. I was honest in my statement, I really do care about and for you. We may not know everything about one another but that doesn’t change those emotions that I carry. However, if you need time to sort out those of your own, please take it. I apologize if my actions seemed to abrupt.”
Kyouko had moved away from the kisses that she had given the other girl and ended the embrace that she gave her, instead only taking hold of Taeko’s hands. This wasn’t the detective’s own first kiss, she had had her own prior relationship, although it had ended when the two of them were separated by distance. The sleuth had not been bothered by the heiress’s reaction, it was an understandable one, it was both surprising and sudden. She did not mind how the other girl responded to all this, her own thoughts were on Yasuhiro’s emotions.
-- [ ♫ ❀ ♫ ] -- For someone losing their first kiss to almost a stranger, Taeko didn't seem to be bothered by it. While she did have the emotion of surprise numb her entire body, she wasn't upset for losing it to the lavender-haired detective. The crimson-eyed girl could merely sigh, crimson eyes closing for a brief moment while her hands were grasped gently in dull, navy plum leather gloves. The warmth was addictive all in itself, but the heiress did not have the permission nor the privilege to indulge in such manners when she was needed elsewhere for society's demands. Exactly what causes people to care about me on instant? These thoughts were of norm. Care abut this and that, care about her well-being. She was already a handful to handle on her own, but being served constantly was certainly pleasant yet tiresome all the time. She didn't know Kirigiri besides being of a tremendous and extraordinary detective that had been slowly gaining her reputation in the world, but at the same time, was it really necessary for her to care so much about her? After all, the raven-haired girl was of a p r i n c e s s that didn't need saving ( or so she thought at the very beginning of her time ), but Taeko appreciated care outside of work manners. Crimson hues made their appearance once more, trailing its gaze down onto her own two hands. Kirigiri's apology was accepted immediately without much say, but a part of the girl craved some minor intimate moments and thus which sparked the movement of her gently moving her hands and fingers until they were capable of lacing themselves with the other girl's. Her eyes never did part from their hands--but it wasn't so bad knowing that perhaps she experienced some lovely things in life right now. ❝ It's fine, Kirigiri. Sudden it is, but you simply are too soft despite what I have heard about you. You don't need to worry about me too much. I'm capable and fine on my own. ❞ Part of her words were laced with lies, but she knew it was forbidden of having anyone else know of her history. It would certainly cause an riot of sorts and she didn't need to be responsible for it. Kirigiri most certainly did not need to know of her dreaded history of betrayal and torment, but alas, the heiress couldn't stop a snooping vixen if she were to try. It was certainly not of her nature to be so cruel as she knew for a fact that cruelty taught her nothing but agony.

Tsumiki was surprised to hear why Taeko was actually there for. She hadn’t been told about any sort of inspection that was supposed to be happening. Unless this was meant to be on the spur of the moment to ensure that the nurse’s office was always in it’s best conditions.
“Well u-um, it’s certainly a pleasure to m-meet you Taeko–ah, if it’s alright f-for me to be addressing you by your first n-name right now.” she quickly added, a slight fear that she had already messed up by improperly addressing the other. If this was an inspection then she should be referring to the girl more formally right? Though, she guessed that it might end up being more of a matter of preference. And she had asked which the other was going to prefer, so maybe that would help to make up for her possible blunder?
“As for t-the inspection..um..I-I suppose it would be best to begin b-by showing you around?” However, Tsumiki wasn’t entirely sure on the matter.
