Lemme tell y'all something- I started writing this around 1am. I'm currently typing this at 5:47am. I spent over five hours writing and rewriting this one smut scene and y'know what? Fuck it, for my first time writing smut I'm really proud of it. extremely niche and personal ffxv headcanons
noctis edition:
unhealthy obsession with spicy food (esp heavily seasoned meat dishes), even though he can’t handle it most of the time. both prompto and him love to dare each other to try the spiciest food they can find and yes, it always ends up badly.
has an aversion to touch unless he initiaties it first. lots of sensory issues regarding skin-to-skin contact so he always keeps his hands to himself. he’s fine with hugs/casual touching from people he loves (chocobros + prompto especially) but he WILL throw hands with strangers who invade his personal space.
extremely generous. he will pay for everything if left to his own devices. a sensible budget? doesn’t know her. you tell him you need something and he will get it. he doesn’t care about money enough to put it above the needs of his friends or other people. thankfully ignis is there to keep him in line.
spotify edgelord. keeps his music library organized by mood and yes, he has a specific playlist for brooding during long car rides. tends to assign specific sounds and songs to situations in his head.
has a form of auditory–tactile synesthesia. certain sounds can trigger physical sensations in him. if he had trouble training or mastering specific combat moves during his teenage years, he’d play music to help himself practice to the beat. it helped him with tracking his reaction time and developing a natural grace to his movements.
would prefer if life had a soundtrack so he could play badass music during real battle sequences. his performance actually improves. gladio has tested it during practice and the faster the beat of the song, the faster and more agile noctis becomes. it’s almost hilarious.
funnily enough, he’s an average dancer at best. he’s definitely better at fighting.
secretly interested in dj-ing. might have considered it as a profession were he not a prince.
on that note, he fucking hates yelling. if you yell at him he actually physically feels it, which makes him go into fight or flight mode. it’s one of the reasons why he rarely yells or raises his voice, because he believes other people feel it the same way he does. if you hear him yelling, he’s probably extremely emotionally distraught or nearing a breakdown.
usually low energy in most situations, but his rare high energy episodes make him manic. he will go climb a mountain to find the best fishing spot in 5 minutes just to feel something. he WILL fight 5000 daemons, you, your entire family line, his ancient evil uncle, a god, and still feel restless afterwards until he crashes. and he crashes hard.
gladio used to make fun of him for it but a lot of his battle moves are re-purposed movesets he steals from videogames. if a character has a cool move in-game, he will learn it. has he tried to recreate the leap of faith during a high-stakes battle just so he can look cool? he has. and he will at any chance he gets. prompto absolutely goes wild whenever he does.
has a ridiculously cute handwriting style. ignis says it’s unbecoming of a future king to use so many flourishes and doodles in his cursive but he doesn’t care.
really likes fluffy things that are soft to the touch. afflicted by chronic ‘pet the cat’ disease. he will pet any cute fluffy animal he comes across even under the threat of bodily harm. if anyone hurts a cat in front of him he WILL unleash his full armiger on them. violently.
he’s a very curious person by nature. will poke around doors and random contraptions just to find out what’s inside. gets secretly excited whenever he finds maps and keys because he likes finding out where they lead or what they open. his favorite game during childhood used to be treasure hunting. he’d love whenever ignis hid things around the citadel for him to find.
he also loves gossip, but you didn’t hear that from me. he’s the kind of person that people feel comfortable talking around, since he’s quiet and a good listener. he’s accidentally heard the WILDEST things from servants and citadel personnel but he doesn’t say anything, just silently files the knowledge away to be used at a later date if needed.
FFXV Headcanon:
The Crow’s Nest or some other fast food restaurant has a kids menu and it comes with a toy. More specifically King’s Knight toys!
Prompto and Noctis will of course eat there as often as possible to order the kids menu to collect all the toys.
They do also play with their toys in the car.
INSOMNIA FALLS
The fact that they’re not in formal attire makes this so much more cinematic and natural??? Like I know the Insomnia uniforms have canon importance but with the casual clothes the scene feel so legit
characters will literally get a headache or nosebleed out of nowhere and be like "huh. weird. well it's probably nothing." girl, look around you. you're in a story. it's relevant to the plot.

What makes them laugh? Gaia loves puns! But really, just about anything makes her laugh when she is comfortable around you.
What would they pick if they could have anything for a day? She would probably pick a really soft blanket. Yes, to everyone else it doesn't seem like much, but she loves soft things, and blankets bring her a lot of comfort.
What song would they sing on Karaoke night? Never Let Me Go, by Florence + The Machine. It's her favorite song, and she would put so much into singing it.
How would their friends describe them? "a roomba with feelings and an ax" -Odin (@seankayser's oc) "we’re stuck with her but we like her so it’s fine. oh and a traitor" -Emmeline (@oddballspamicorn, @royalpainrambles) The traitor comment is a joke between Emmeline and Gaia about how she is part of the Crownsguard but dating Ravus, who is the High Commander of the imperial army.
Where do they see themselves in 5 years? Gaia sees herself just living her life, maybe married to Ravus, continuing her work in the Crownsguard, that kind of thing.
They have the power to go back in time and change one thing, what would they change? She would try to stop the attack during the treaty signing in Insomnia. She doesn't know how much would change, nor how it would affect her, but she hates that the attack ever happened.
What's the longest time they've gone with no sleep? Gaia has gone for about a week without any sleep. It was when she first escaped the Empire and was trying to find Noctis. She didn't sleep until she reached Lestallum.
Would they rather trade intelligence for looks or vice versa? She wouldn't trade either. She's happy with how she looks, and while she admits she can be naive, she wouldn't change it.
What's the wildest thing they've done for their s/o? Gaia can and will go on a late-night food run for Ravus, even if he tells her she doesn't have to. He makes a passing comment about wanting a certain cake? Well, she's going to get it and she's going NOW. She just wants to make up for all the things he did for her, again, even if he says she doesn't need to.
Do they collect anything? She actually collects pens! She loves writing, and pens of any kind are her favorite.
Who was their first crush? Her first crush was actually Ravus! She was a very sheltered person growing up in that Magitek facility, so she didn't have much contact with other people.
What was their first job? Her first job was technically being a soldier for Niflheim, but she doesn't count that since she was forced. Her "true" first job was being a member of the Crownsguard.
What animal would they pick if they could describe themselves as an animal? She would describe herself as a fox or a cat. A bit skittish but if she warms up to you, she loves you with all her heart.
Would they survive a zombie apocalypse? I feel like she would, but only because she is both really savvy when it comes to mechanical stuff and she has some strange luck.
How would they spend weekends? She likes to just relax on the weekends. Curl up on the couch with her journal, without a care in the world.
What's their favorite candy? She loves salted caramel!
Do they have an item that has special meaning to them? The necklace that Ravus gave her when they were in Altissia! It's lapis lazuli, which according to some can represent strength and courage.
What is the one thing that they would say is annoying about themselves? She thinks the way she lingers on the past is annoying, and it makes her feel bad whenever she brings it up with someone.
Who are they closest to? She is closest to Ravus and Prompto. Ravus is the love of her life, and Prompto is like the older brother she never had.
They win the lottery, what is the first thing they do with that money? She would save half of it and then budget the other half. She would 100% use a good portion of the money to buy things for Ravus and her friends because she wants to thank them for being there for her.

One of my favorite things about the FFXV fandom is how everyone I’ve seen talking about music headcanons says that they think Prompto listens to punk/metal, when in the canonical instances of him singing, except when he’s singing songs that he’s made up, he’s singing either a) a pop song about chocobos, or b) the song “We’re In the Money” from the 30s musical “Gold Diggers of 1933” (probably included because the musical has been in the public domain since 1960).
Listen, he WANTS you to think he listens to punk/metal, but all I’m saying is that the evidence points to him listening to the Billboard Top 100 and Broadway’s Biggest Hits.
(I also believe that he would listen to k-pop religiously if Insomnia had an equivalent but that’s a headcanon based on no evidence)
