I found Justice Preston from "Forbidden" the most intriguing. His journey from a loyal under-priest to a hunted heretic was compelling. His crisis of faith, mixed with his determination to reveal the truth at any cost, gave him a wonderful depth that made me want to know his full story. It was a masterclass in teasing a larger world, leaving me genuinely curious to read more of your novels.

An asteroid converted into a generations ship headed for the stars brings more adventure than these guys expected! Darren and Brian find themselves facing off with a mis-guided AI with delusions of grandeur in "Ice Ship."

"Ice Ship" is a great space opera with a generation ship, cryo-sleep, and a rogue AI. However, you elevate it by grounding the conflict in very modern social issues like corporate control, debt, and LGBTQ+ identity, which made it feel fresh and relevant.

Among the many wonders within, be sure to read "A Dog's Tale": This story was such a delight! The idea of dogs communicating through "notes" left on bushes was wonderfully imaginative and funny. It was a moment of pure, lighthearted joy.

This is not just a collection of stories and poems, but a curated tour of one man's creative life, exploring the different people he's been and the different worlds he's built. The use of two author names, the inclusion of decades-old college poetry, and the deeply personal anecdotes all contribute to this feeling.

Justice Preston’s desperate flight in "Forbidden" to protect the Sophia’s true words made me feel a sense of righteous urgency. It’s a theme that evokes a deep yearning for truth and a direct connection to something greater than ourselves, a feeling that religion, in its worst form, tries to sever. As I built the latest novel, The Third Book of the Knight Shamans, I found a support character who has really grown into something larger than I thought he would be.

In the year 2042, just two years after a series of massive earthquakes devastated the Pacific Northwest, the Elk Creek Tribe survives within the Milltown Hill fortified dam. But outside cities and wanderers have constantly been attacking them seeking to take their resources.

This latest episode was spurred when the city of Yoncalla sent all their men to attack the tribe's village. The tribal militia prevailed, then, after recovering their wounded and gathering their forces, they marched on Yoncalla to put an end to the menace.
