something something Freddie saying Brian liked to maintain control over his songs and that he couldn’t really get into them and change anything around that much, all the while he had no idea many of Brian’s songs were already about him. “Yeah Brian doesn’t let me influence his songs much” my man, for some of them you ARE THE INFLUENCE
Queen: Live at the Rainbow '74
I still think it’s so crazy how a few years ago when Brian said that Freddie would have been upset being called Queer people JUMPED on this poor elderly man to call him homophobic and to say Freddie was a “self-hating gay man”
I am BEGGING y’all to use an OUNCE of critical thinking. Freddie was an openly gay man from the 1970s to the early 1990s, no shit he would take offence to being called queer, that was a whole ass slur. The use of queer as a general term to refer to members of the LGBT community is still VERY new, even as recent as 20-ish years ago, queer was still mostly considered a slur.
Brian’s not homophobic, Freddie was not a self-hating gay man. Use just a little bit of critical thinking PLEASE.
No actually I have so many thoughts on this cause I personally am so sick of the 'brian is homophobic' rhetoric. You mean the Brian that was scared of losing Freddie to drugs and dingy clubs but let him go anyway because it was the only spaces he could be himself? You mean the Brian that wrote loves songs for Freddie to sing because he knew he was so uncomfortable writing them himself? The Brian that remained friends with Jim long after Freddie's passing and invited him to multiple of his solo shows? The Brian that got tested for AIDS and had it published in the papers to break stigma around getting tested for HIV? That Brian? The Brian that has always reminded queen fans about groupie culture in the 70s, that it was both MEN and women that were propositioning them? The Brian that is open about having conversations about queer culture with Adam? Don't piss me off queen fandom, do better.

I sketched this last minute for the remaster of Queen II, featuring Freddie and Brian as a black queen and white queen, respectively. I really loved their black/white motif in the early 70s, and it's kind of a shame that they dropped it!
Yeah, you can see the edges of the piece of paper in this pic, but hey...at least that's proof this is a real pencil drawing and not AI slop <3
