KINGPINS Show is one of the lead denim sourcing shows in the denim industry. This exclusive invite-only event features an array of premium denim mills, as well as an elite selection of vendors and resources from all over the world. The highly anticipated expo takes place twice a year in New York, Hong Kong, Amsterdam, and now Miami.

With great pleasure, we had the opportunity of attending this year’s show in New York which took place at Pier 36 on November 3rd-4th. The show was beautifully curated and very informative. Detailed seminars were offered at the event, with an insider look into trend forecasting, as well as significant consumer insights.

It seems that 80’s style is here to conquer in the latest fashion trends. Patchwork, heavy rips, and now acid wash effects have, and continue to dominate from the streets to the runways.

After coming across WhoWhatWear‘s article on the current acid wash trend, I began to reconsider my feelings towards it. If you’re more like me, you may think this denim detail seems a bit intimidating to pull off. However, just like any other denim filled with embellishments or rips, acid wash jeans compliment basic solid colored tops in a way that creates a fashionably balanced outfit. No matter the season, acid washed denim is a workable look.
