Hehehehe I'm very happy today!!! The reason why si that finally I've gotten thus beautiful jak and daxter zine made by the wonderful people behind and involved with the @jndzine I absolutely love the zine and all the merch that came with it!!! Been a huge jak and daxter fan for years and the fact that this zine exists is incredible and makes me wanna jump into the community more!!!! Everyone involved with this zine should be so proud of themselves!!!

A personal headcannon;

all members of Jak's species have the genes for horns, and having them is viewed in a similar manner as having facial hair.

Gender literally does not play a single factor in if you grow them or not, just if you have the genes for growing them, and an abundance of Eco in your environment to promote their growth.

The Eco one's exposed to most can and will influence the growth of these horns as well, of course.

I respect the persistence, but jesuschrist how'd you manage to suggest the one headcannon that gave me tunnel vision. I was stuck going in circles trying to figure how to add to this idea, cause it is a very cool idea, but no matter how hard I tried, the neurons would not connect, I thought id have to admit defeat.

But that one note about eco affecting it made me think about Samos and sages and THANK GOD because that was just enough to get this rolling, though ill be real, I definitely didn't do this idea justice.

I did my best trying to match horns with characters powers or personality (definitely not using this as an excuse to draw my favorites) and also thought of how dark eco would effect growth, specifically if Jak's would have changed when the 'incident' occurs. I ended up with what's basically some sorta rot/decay that discolours and destroys. I bet someone started reading this and thought this would be a chance for Damas to recognize Jak easier. ha. you wish.

Also the note about Daxter not having his horns as an ottsel was sorta just a joke, but I mean it could be a thing where precursors are depicted with none, so the monks shaved down their own as a show of worship.

Had to draw my boy as well. there's already an illness in my au (will be addressed later) so havin diseased horns suits him.

quick doodles of keira jak 2 redesign before going to sleep. a little more depressed, a little bit more of walls raised around her. a little bit more in a toxic relationship w errol (as in. he threatens to just kick her out to the streets if she messes up. sidenote hes fuckin 25 haha ) instead of that sorry excuse of a love triangle. she gets into a fight w jak because he sides w krew but then its all right bc she actively helps him build guns upgrades or smth. and also goes through a small arc where she starts to truly appreciate haven bc of tess and torn and also jak bringing her to see the pretty parts of town. to which i mean haven forest mostly. idk romantic flights together featuring his furry best friend and also 27 guards chasing after you teehe
