Summons|| Crispin & Ruby
The fact that he even had to think about speaking to Ruby on this matter made his fists clench. Â Crispin lived his life a very specific way, and he liked, no he needed, his house to remain in order. Â This was not the first time that Ruby was jeopardizing that, and it seemed a lesson of discipline was soon to be in order. Â Crispin had tolerated the small slip ups long enough; he refused to allow their âmarriageâ to get any closer to the edge. Â Even thinking those words brought a smirk to his lips for their marriage was anything but legal in the state of California and yet he owned her as a wife. Owned would be the right word for she was his, which was why he was so rigid in how things were done. Standing from behind his desk he peaked in on his brother Silas, letting him know he was running an errand and would return shortly. Silas of course knew what Crispinâs plan was, his heart just as dark and black as Crispinâs own.
The plan was to gather up Rachel, or Norah as she went by now, and bring her back to the compound. Â Once there he would allow the two sisters to meet up, but what Ruby didnât know was that Norah would not be leaving. Â Her very existence had become his ace in the whole and there was nothing that would stop him from using it. It was only a few hours before he returned to Weed, Norah beside him in the truck. Â Ever easy to portray empathy and kindness it had been so easy to convince her to come with him. Â Bringing her into the main house he left her with Silas while he sought out Ruby. Finding her in the garden he felt his dick harden as she was bent over some flowers, and he was more than a little tempted to take her. Â Forcing down the physical desire he put a smile on his face and cleared his throat. âDo you have a moment for your husband?â His question dripping with sweetness, but that sweetness was pure poison.

Her days at the compound had become very routine. Each morning she would follow the same course, working near robotically as she got up and got things ready for her husbandâs day before tending to the others within the community. Rubyâs daily chores included making sure the other wives were keeping up their homes, keeping their husbands happy. She was not allowed to tell the others that she was spying on them and treated each interaction as if she were simply paying a friendly visit. Back in the beginning she hated the gossiping but Crispin considered it work. It was important that everyone who joined the commune stayed true to it.
The harsh reality was she was terrified of Crispin on most days. There would never be someplace far enough away â the man had eyes and ears everywhere. When she first left Portland in search of her sister Rachel Ruby really had no clue where to look. Making her way south sheâd met Crispin, a handsome, smooth-talking lawyer that made the Cutler Compound sound like a little piece of heaven. Unsure of her journey anyway she came back with him and a sexual relationship struck up rather quickly. After seeing him being overly flirtatious with another woman on the property Ruby took that as a sign that she needed to move along and find Rachel. Leaving without so much as a goodbye she only made it as far as Chico before her life took a really shitty turn. Hanging out with a biker club after meeting a woman dating one of the members Ruby easily fell in to the lifestyle â including the drugs and soon sex. Passed around from man to man Ruby hated herself and felt Rachel would never forgive her for the life she was leading. Seizing an opportunity Ruby left the club and made her way back to Weed and straight to Crispin.
Heâd welcomed her back with open arms and told her it was silly that sheâd fled due to her jealousy. It wasnât until Crispin proposed that Ruby confessed everything about her life in Chico. Crispin made her feel as if it was all a part of her past and for the first time since sheâd left her parentâs home she felt loved. They were wed in a small ceremony on the property, Silas Cutler himself as the officiant and life had never been the same. A switch flipped as the man went from wooing to complete and total control. Nowadays Ruby did as she was told for fear of the repercussions; able to do what she wanted for the most part as long as she stayed within the boundaries Crispin created. When he entered the room she did her best to not go rigid but midday visits were not always good ones. âOf course I do, honey.â Standing she kissed his cheek. âIs there something I can help you with?â
Tracy Chapman Ă Fast Car
You got a fast car I want a ticket to anywhere Maybe we make a deal Maybe together we can get somewhere Any place is better Starting from zero got nothing to lose Maybe we'll make something Me myself I got nothing to prove You got a fast car I got a plan to get us out of here I been working at the convenience store Managed to save just a little bit of money Won't have to drive too far Just 'cross the border and into the city You and I can both get jobs And finally see what it means to be living See my old man's got a problem He live with the bottle that's the way it is He says his body's too old for working His body's too young to look like his My mama went off and left him She wanted more from life than he could give I said somebody's got to take care of him So I quit school and that's what I did You got a fast car Is it fast enough so we can fly away? We gotta make a decision Leave tonight or live and die this way So remember when we were driving driving in your car Speed so fast I felt like I was drunk City lights lay out before us And your arm felt nice wrapped 'round my shoulder And I had a feeling that I belonged I had a feeling I could be someone, be someone, be someone You got a fast car We go cruising, entertain ourselves You still ain't got a job And I work in a market as a checkout girl I know things will get better You'll find work and I'll get promoted We'll move out of the shelter Buy a bigger house and live in the suburbs So remember when we were driving driving in your car Speed so fast I felt like I was drunk City lights lay out before us And your arm felt nice wrapped 'round my shoulder And I had a feeling that I belonged I had a feeling I could be someone, be someone, be someone You got a fast car I got a job that pays all our bills You stay out drinking late at the bar See more of your friends than you do of your kids I'd always hoped for better Thought maybe together you and me find it I got no plans I ain't going nowhere So take your fast car and keep on driving So remember when we were driving driving in your car Speed so fast I felt like I was drunk City lights lay out before us And your arm felt nice wrapped 'round my shoulder And I had a feeling that I belonged I had a feeling I could be someone, be someone, be someone You got a fast car Is it fast enough so you can fly away? You gotta make a decision Leave tonight or live and die this way
