the concept of saying janka and zanhyo are inherently oversexual ships while in the same breath claming zanshia is "pure" is hella insane and i cant believe i saw people actually agree with this take

one thing i wanna say though is data centers being built in rural areas is environmental racism + classism so when i see ppl bitching about locals bitching about data centers im like oh it’s literally because it’s not your backyard being demolished and your air not being polluted and your waterways not being ran dry and your soundscapes not being raised to unhealthy decibels ….
i love richeh because at first glance she's quiet, withdrawn, and you think she's the shy kid of the group. but no. she'll kill you. that girl is ready to murder at any time of the day. just the stubbornest, most obstinate, most self-confident child on the planet. you try to tell her she can't do something, and she'll not only ignore you, she'll do the thing while conjuring sparkles and somehow utilizing crystals. respects maybe three whole people in the world and doesn't even try to hide it. said ACAB, out loud, to the cop's face after physically attacking the cop. best little girl representation of all time.

Of Jamaican Dominican descent (2nd gen) and hails from the dirty south, no question. Think Boosie, Lil Wayne, UGK, Outkast, GETO BOYS. Some lovers rock/smooth reggae and dancehall (Buju Banton, Beres Hammond, Dawn Penn, Chaka Demus & Pliers) here, a lot of old school (Jodeci, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Zhané) there. LOVES Janet Jackson because that’s his GODmother.

Enka, of course; he busts out 古城 and つぐない every other karaoke night. Junpei Oda, Hiroshi Itsuki, he has a good time—the snoozefests he induces aside. If not enka, then old radio hits like 勝手にしやがれ by Kenji Sawada or 魅せられて by Judy Ongg. Loves Kozo Murashita (not a Hiroshima native but that’s where the Big Folk Shift in his music happened), ADORES Teresa Teng. I see him more as a time capsule for the tender melodrama of the Showa-era than a rigid traditionalist.
I’m not particularly fond of the hc that just because he’s a feeler, that can only be adequately reflected by post-hardcore/emo rock. Enka does the job just fine, but to each their own. Mind me not or mind me sometimes, we’re all friends here.
That being said, I DO think he more than enjoys classic soul/R&B and jazz w his Geriatric Self.
I’ve been thinking about parallels, foils , mirrors, character dynamics etc in Gachiakuta and I realized how, out of all the Akuta kids, Riyo is the one that resembles Enjin the most.
They are both presented as these easy-going, carefree, almost aloof characters that tease their friends and laugh in the face of danger.
However that is a facade they pursposly use to detach themselves from others in order to protect their secrets. They don’t want to be seen for who they truly are or rather who they were before becoming cleaners. In part because, although it’s a curated persona, that cheerful person they project outwardly is who they really want to be.
This secretive and contradictory nature is represented by their “other weapon”. A secret, brutal trump card that is associated with their inability to let go of their past and is a symbol of their flawed perception of themselves and their stances about life . (In Riyo’s case it represents her disregard for the life of others and in Enjin’s case his own.)
Yet they both care. They care so much about the people they love that they will risk it all, go to extremes, discard they “fake persona” and throw away their growth in order to protect them.
The most tragic part about this is that they both hide their love and devotion from others. As if they believe that the way they show their love (selfsacrifice, amoral methods) is another dirty secret that needs to be concealed.
In short she takes A LOT after his father and I can’t wait to see how they both their character arcs will develop! Drama however is very much assured .
