As the two of you laid on a blanket on the roof of the treehouse-like building, you both listen to the chirps of the birds that sang.
"Do you know what bird that is, Xiao?" you ask out of the blue, anticipating a mundane response about how he doesn't.
"Yes, it's a nightingale," you can feel the vibration in his chest as he talks. "They're one of the more common birds that chirp at night, and look very similar to female robins. They sing all the time, even in bad weather."
"Huh," you say, not expecting for him to know so much about the bird. "How do you know that much about it?"
"I know more," he says. "It's not that impressive at all."
"Yes it is!" you smile, looking at his face. "I don't even know that much about any kind of bird."
"Lucky you."
You huff, "You're the one that knows all the cool bird facts."
"I suppose," his eyes wander your face for a second, as if questioning himself on saying something. Eventually, he goes for it. "But I'd say what's more impressive is knowing everything about you."
