It had been a couple months since your little brother debuted with his group LNGSHOT, and life had been completely different ever since.
Before debut, he was busy as a trainee, sure—but now it was on a whole other level. Practice, recording, choreography, interviews, schedules… it felt like he barely had time to breathe, let alone come home. On top of that, he had moved into the dorms with his members, which meant the house had gotten a lot quieter.
Too quiet.
You would never admit it to his face, though. Absolutely not. If Woojin ever heard you say you missed him, he would never let you hear the end of it.
But you did.
A lot more than you expected.
Sure, you two still texted sometimes. You called every now and then when he wasn’t busy. But it wasn’t the same as him being around the house all the time—arguing over stupid things, stealing snacks from the kitchen, or randomly annoying you just because he could.
It had been so long since you two actually fought.
And weirdly enough… you kind of missed that too.
You missed yelling at him across the hallway. You missed shoving him when he said something stupid. You even missed the way he would run his mouth like he wasn’t about to get absolutely destroyed in a fight he started.
Without him there, the house felt boring.
Today was especially bad.
Your parents were on vacation, which meant you had the entire house to yourself. At first it sounded great—freedom, peace, quiet.
But after a few hours?
You were bored out of your mind.
You sighed, leaning against the kitchen counter before grabbing your phone. There was really only one person you wanted to bother right now.
Woojin.
You dialed his number, half expecting him not to answer because of practice or some schedule. But surprisingly, he picked up almost immediately.
“Yo.” His voice came through the phone.
You raised an eyebrow. “What are you doing right now?”
“Working on music,” he said with a sigh. “Bored out of my damn mind. Why? What’s up?”
You smirked slightly. Perfect timing.
“Mom and Dad are on vacation,” you said. “And I’m home alone. Wanna come hang out?”
There was a short pause.
“For real?” Woojin said. “Sure. But I gotta ask my annoying old CEO first.”
You giggled. “Alright. Call me back and let me know.”
“K.”
And then he hung up.
You stared at your phone for a second before scoffing.
“‘K’?” you muttered. “Little brat. I can’t wait to whoop his ass when I see him.”
A laugh slipped out as memories flashed through your mind—countless stupid fights between the two of you growing up. Half the time he started them, running his mouth like he wasn’t about to lose immediately.
And most of the time?
You beat him.
Meanwhile, Woojin was already climbing out of bed at the dorm. He stretched before heading out of the room he shared with the other members.
When he stepped into the main living area, he paused.
Surprisingly, everyone was there.
The members of LNGSHOT were gathered around the table, and sitting with them was their CEO—Jay Park.
Woojin didn’t think much of it. He just walked up to the table.
Jay glanced up at him.
“Finally came out of your room?” Jay said casually.
Woojin ignored the comment. “Can I go hang out with my sister?”
The room immediately went silent.
All three members turned to look at him.
“You have a sister?” they said at the exact same time.
Woojin blinked at them, confused by their reaction, then shrugged.
“Yeah?”
Louis leaned back in his chair. “I did not know that.”
“None of us did,” Ryul added, side-eyeing Louis right after like he had just copied him.
Jay rested his arm on the table. “How long?” he asked. “We have things to do tomorrow.”
“Just a few hours,” Woojin replied.
Jay thought about it for a second before nodding. “Yeah, I guess that’s fine. Let me know when you’re ready to go.”
Woojin nodded and started walking away.
“Wait.”
Woojin stopped and turned around.
Jay pointed toward the other three boys sitting at the table.
“Take them.”
Woojin blinked. “What? Why?!”
“Because I’ve gotta go do some things,” Jay said simply.
Woojin groaned and rolled his eyes, clearly annoyed. “Are you serious?”
Jay just stared at him.
Woojin sighed dramatically before looking at his members.
“Hurry up and get ready.”
The other three jumped up immediately, suddenly full of energy at the idea of going somewhere outside the dorm.
Woojin pulled out his phone and dialed your number while they rushed off to grab their stuff.
You picked up quickly.
“Good news and bad news,” Woojin said.
“What is it?” you groaned.
“I can come over,” he said. “I’ll be there in like half an hour.”
“Awesome!”
“But…” he continued, scratching the back of his neck. “I have to bring my members.”
There was a pause.
“…Oh.”
“Yeah,” he sighed. “I’m sorry.”
You leaned against the counter, thinking for a moment before shrugging.
“It’s fine, Jin,” you said. “I’ve been wanting to meet them anyway. Just let me know when you’re close.”
“Alright.”
The call ended shortly after.
You set your phone down on the kitchen counter and exhaled.
You couldn’t lie—you were a little disappointed. You had been hoping to get your brother to yourself for a while.
But at the same time…
At least you still got to see him.
And honestly, you were curious about the people he lived with now.
You pushed yourself off the counter.
“Well,” you muttered to yourself.
“Now I have to get ready.”
Originally, you had planned to stay in your pajamas all day.
After all, the only person coming over was your brother. Woojin had seen you at your absolute worst your entire life—messy hair, oversized shirts, pajama pants that were definitely older than they should’ve been. There was no reason to dress up for him.
But now… he wasn’t coming alone.
He was bringing his members.
That thought alone made you pause in the middle of your room.
You sighed and ran a hand through your hair. “Great,” you muttered to yourself. “Now I actually have to look like a functioning human being.”
You quickly washed up and brushed your hair before changing into something a little nicer. Nothing too fancy—just something cute but comfortable.
You slipped on a soft pink lacy tank top and threw a brown zip-up jacket over it. Then you pulled on a pair of loose, baggy jeans that hung comfortably on your hips. It was simple, but it looked good without looking like you tried too hard.
Perfect.
After checking yourself in the mirror one last time, you grabbed your phone and your keys before heading out the door.
If four teenage boys were about to show up at your house, you already knew exactly what they were going to ask for.
Food.
So you ran to the nearby store to grab snacks.
At first, you planned on buying just a couple things—maybe chips, drinks, and some candy. But somehow your basket kept filling up.
Chips. Cookies. Candy. Soda. Energy drinks. Even a couple frozen snacks.
By the time you got to the checkout, you stared at the pile of food and laughed to yourself.
“Okay… this might be a little excessive.”
But you shrugged.
It was fine. If they didn’t eat it all today, you’d just finish it later.
Once you got back home, you set everything up on the living room table. Bags of chips were spread out next to candy and drinks so everyone could easily grab whatever they wanted.
You stepped back and nodded in satisfaction.
Right as you finished setting everything up, your phone buzzed.
Woojin: We’re close.
You quickly typed back.
Door’s unlocked. Just come in.
After sending the message, you headed toward your room to quickly fix your hair and make sure you still looked decent.
But before you could even finish—
BANG!
The front door suddenly burst open.
You jumped in surprise.
“What the—?”
You peeked out of your room.
“He got here fast,” you muttered, walking toward the hallway.
Meanwhile, at the front door Woojin had just shoved Louis forward, which was exactly why the door had slammed open so loudly.
“Dude, stop pushing me!” Louis complained, stumbling a little.
“Shut up,” Woojin said flatly.
He glanced around the house.
“Y/n?” he called.
Behind him, Ohyul quietly shut the door and slipped off his shoes.
“I’m here!” you called back, jogging down the hallway. “When you said you were close, I didn’t know you meant literally outside the door.”
Woojin scoffed.
“You’re just slow.”
You immediately flicked him off before speaking again.
“Are you going to introduce me to your friends?”
“Nah,” he said with a shrug, already walking toward the living room table.
His eyes locked onto the snacks.
Without hesitation, he reached for a bag of chips.
SMACK.
Your hand slapped his before he could grab it.
He winced.
“Hey!”
“Introduce them first,” you said.
He groaned dramatically.
“Fine, fine.”
He gestured lazily toward the tall boy standing nearby.
“This is Louis. The youngest.”
Louis bowed politely.
“Nice to meet you.”
Woojin then pointed to the other two boys.
“And that’s Ryul and Ohyul. They’re your age.”
Ryul bowed respectfully.
But Ohyul… didn’t move.
He was staring at you.
Completely frozen.
Like someone had hit the pause button on him.
Ryul immediately noticed and elbowed him hard in the chest.
“Oh!”
Ohyul snapped out of it instantly.
“S-sorry!” he stammered, bowing quickly.
You giggled softly.
“It’s fine.”
You gestured toward the living room.
“How about we go sit down?”
Everyone agreed immediately.
Louis and Woojin immediately raced toward the couch like little kids.
Ohyul stayed behind slightly as everyone walked.
Because honestly…
He was still trying to recover.
Ohyul had expected Woojin’s sister to be normal. Maybe nice. Maybe a little annoying like Woojin.
What he did not expect…
Was for her to be drop-dead gorgeous.
It had completely caught him off guard.
Ohyul had seen plenty of pretty girls before. Being around idols and trainees meant that wasn’t unusual.
But none of them had ever made his heart feel like it was trying to punch its way out of his chest.
And now he could feel heat creeping up his face.
Please don’t let me look like a blushing idiot.
When you all reached the living room, you noticed Ohyul still standing awkwardly.
“You can sit on the couch if you want,” you offered.
“N-no!” he said quickly. “It’s alright. You sit.”
You tilted your head slightly.
“You sure?”
He nodded rapidly, trying to avoid stuttering again.
So you sat down on the far end of the couch next to Woojin.
Ohyul quietly sat on the floor between Louis and Woojin.
A moment later, Woojin pointed toward the TV stand.
“Yo… is that a new console?”
“Oh yeah,” you said proudly. “Dad got it for me. And like a hundred new games.”
Woojin’s eyes widened.
“What?!”
You smirked.
“I’ve been getting spoiled rotten since you left.”
“That’s not fair!” he complained, shoving your shoulder.
You punched his arm back.
“I’ll go get the games so we can play,” you said. “And so I can rub it in your face.”
Before Woojin could respond, you ran down the hallway toward your room.
The moment you disappeared…
Ryul leaned forward.
“So are we not going to talk about how Ohyul wants to smash Y/n?”
Ohyul nearly choked.
“What the hell are you saying?!” he whisper-yelled.
Louis burst out laughing.
“Dude, you were looking at her like you wanted to eat her!”
“I mean…” Ryul shrugged. “He probably does.”
Both of them started laughing.
“Stop!” Ohyul hissed.
Louis pointed at him.
“Look! He’s so red!”
Ohyul covered his face with both hands.
Woojin shook his head.
“Wow, Ohyul. You just met my sister.”
“No!” Ohyul whispered frantically. “I promise I won’t like her!”
“Like who?”
Your voice suddenly came from the hallway.
You walked back in holding a basket filled with video game cases.
All three boys froze.
“Nothing!” Ohyul blurted out instantly.
You noticed his face was still slightly red, but you didn’t question it.
Instead, you simply shrugged.
“Alright…”
You set the basket down on the table while Woojin immediately started digging through it.
He grabbed a random multiplayer game.
You handed everyone a controller.
Soon the room filled with loud laughter, shouting, and playful arguments as the four of you started playing together.
For the first time in months…
The house finally felt loud again.
After a while, the chaos of the game started to settle down.
At first you had been fully into it—yelling when someone stole your win, laughing when Woojin lost a round, and arguing with Louis over who was cheating. But after several matches, you leaned back against the couch, letting the others continue playing while you took a break.
The three boys were still completely focused on the screen.
Louis was shouting at Woojin about missing an obvious move, while Ryul kept laughing at both of them. Ohyul was quieter than the rest, but he was still concentrating on the game, gripping his controller like his life depended on it.
Meanwhile, you were starting to feel thirsty.
You glanced over at the table where all the drinks were, but you were too comfortable to get up. Instead, you leaned forward slightly and tapped Ohyul on the shoulder.
The moment your fingers touched him, he jumped a little in surprise and quickly turned around.
“Oh—!” he said, startled.
You blinked at his reaction.
“Sorry,” you said with a small laugh. “Didn’t mean to scare you.”
“No! No, it’s fine,” he said quickly, trying to compose himself.
You pointed toward the table.
“Is there any strawberry soda left?”
Ohyul glanced over at the pile of drinks before his expression fell slightly.
“Oh… no,” he said apologetically. “Me and Ryul took the last two earlier.”
“Oh,” you said, nodding a little. “Alright.”
You weren’t upset or anything, just a little disappointed.
Ohyul noticed immediately.
“Would you like something else?” he offered quickly. “There’s still cola and orange soda.”
You shook your head.
“Nah. I really only like the strawberry one.”
For a split second, Ohyul didn’t even think.
He immediately reached over, grabbed his own strawberry soda, and held it out to you.
“You can have the rest of mine,” he said quickly. “I-I barely drank any.”
You looked at the can in surprise.
“Really?” you said, smiling warmly at him.
And for a moment…
Ohyul’s brain completely buffered.
Your smile was beautiful.
Like, genuinely beautiful.
It caught him so off guard that he almost forgot what he was doing.
But he quickly snapped himself out of it and nodded.
“Of course.”
He gently placed the soda into your hand.
For a brief second, your fingers brushed against his.
Ohyul froze internally.
Your hands felt soft. Warm. Way softer than he expected.
And suddenly he became very aware of how close you were sitting.
He turned back toward the TV, trying to act normal, but his eyes kept drifting back toward you.
He watched as you lifted the soda to your lips.
And took a sip.
You didn’t hesitate.
You didn’t even seem to think twice about the fact that his lips had already been on it.
Ohyul’s mind immediately started spiraling.
Is this normal?
Am I weird for thinking about this?
He felt ridiculous for even noticing something like that.
But he couldn’t help it.
His heart was beating faster than it had earlier, and he didn’t know why he felt so nervous all of a sudden.
It had been a long time since he felt like this around someone.
He honestly didn’t know what to do with himself.
Then suddenly—
A sharp kick hit the middle of his back.
“Ah—!”
Ohyul jerked forward slightly and quickly looked to his side.
Woojin was staring directly at him.
His eyes were narrowed.
The message was very clear.
Stop staring at my sister.
Ohyul swallowed and awkwardly mouthed, “Sorry.”
Woojin continued glaring at him for another second before turning his attention back to the game.
Embarrassed, Ohyul quickly faced the TV again and gripped his controller tighter.
He tried his best to focus on the game now.
But unfortunately…
That had suddenly become a lot harder.
After a few more rounds, the game finally slowed down.
The yelling had died down, the controllers were being held a little looser, and everyone looked a little worn out from playing nonstop.
Woojin leaned back into the couch with a groan.
“I’m hungry.”
You glanced over at him immediately.
“You’re acting like there isn’t a whole table full of snacks right in front of you,” you said, pointing directly at the pile of chips, candy, and drinks sitting just a few feet away.
Woojin barely even looked at it.
“But I want real food.”
You stared at him for a second before rolling your eyes.
“You’re such a fatass.”
“Hey!” he complained, sitting up straight.
Then his expression changed instantly.
He put his hands together dramatically like he was praying.
“Pleeeeease?”
You didn’t even move.
Not an inch.
You just stared at him blankly.
Woojin sighed and turned to Louis.
“Help me out.”
Louis immediately understood the assignment.
He shuffled closer and joined Woojin, clasping his hands together as well. Then he looked up at you with the most exaggerated pout you’d ever seen.
“Please, Miss Y/n,” he begged sweetly.
You stared at the two of them.
Woojin looked ridiculous.
But Louis…
Louis just looked adorable.
You sighed in defeat.
“Fine.”
You stood up from the couch.
“Thank Louis,” you said as you looked at Woojin. “He’s adorable. You’re just ugly.”
Woojin’s mouth dropped open in disbelief as Ryul and Ohyul burst out laughing.
“Did she just—?”
“You deserved that,” Ryul said, still laughing.
Meanwhile, you had already disappeared into the kitchen.
You decided to keep things simple.
Ramyeon would be easy and fast, and you could set out some add-ons in case anyone wanted to customize their bowl.
You grabbed a pot and filled it with water, placing it on the stove to boil. While you waited, you pulled out vegetables and eggs to prepare some toppings.
Soon you were standing at the counter, getting ready to slice vegetables and getting everything ready.
Just as you cracked an egg into the pan—
knock knock.
You heard a soft knock against the counter.
You turned around.
Ohyul was standing there.
He looked a little awkward, his hands shoved into the pockets of his hoodie.
“Uh… would you… like some help?” he asked nervously.
You couldn’t help but giggle a little at how nervous he sounded.
“Of course,” you said with a warm smile.
And just like earlier…
His heart skipped again.
You pointed to the cutting board beside you.
“Could you cut up the green onions and mushrooms, please?”
He nodded quickly.
“Yeah. Of course.”
He moved over to the counter and picked up the knife, focusing on the vegetables like it was the most important task in the world.
Meanwhile, you stirred the sauce mixture you were making while waiting for the water to boil.
Eventually you stepped a little closer to Ohyul to grab another ingredient.
The moment you did, you noticed something.
He stiffened.
Completely.
Like he had suddenly forgotten how to exist.
You smiled to yourself but didn’t say anything right away.
However…
You had definitely noticed something all day.
The glances.
The staring.
The way he froze every time you spoke to him.
You hadn’t said anything earlier because you didn’t want to embarrass him.
But now that you two were alone…
You decided to tease him a little.
“Ohyul,” you said casually, still mixing the sauce in the bowl without looking up.
“Y-yes?” he answered immediately.
You finally lifted your gaze and met his eyes.
He sucked in a small breath.
“Do you have something you want to say to me?” you asked.
He blinked.
“W-what? No!”
He shook his head quickly.
You hummed thoughtfully and nodded.
“You’ve been staring at me all day,” you said simply. “Like you had something to confess or something. So I was just wondering.”
You shrugged lightly.
Ohyul froze.
Completely.
“I-I’m sorry!” he blurted out. “I hope I didn’t make you uncomfortable or anything—I’m so so—”
Before he could finish apologizing—
You burst out laughing.
Not just a small laugh either.
A full, open-mouthed laugh.
Ohyul blinked, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly as a small embarrassed chuckle escaped him.
“You’re cute, Ohyul,” you said, shaking your head before looking back down at the bowl.
And just like that…
He froze again.
For a moment, you genuinely wondered if you had broken him.
But after a few seconds he snapped out of it and quickly went back to chopping vegetables like nothing happened.
The rest of the time in the kitchen was quiet.
But it wasn’t awkward.
It was actually… comfortable.
Every now and then you’d glance at each other.
Sometimes your hands would brush when passing ingredients. Sometimes one of you would quietly help the other with something without saying a word.
And throughout all of it, Ohyul was incredibly sweet.
Always asking if you needed something.
Always making sure he was helping.
Maybe it was just his personality.
Or maybe it was because he was completely down bad for you.
Either way, you didn’t mind it.
Soon enough, the ramyeon was finished.
You both prepared your own bowls first before bringing them out.
You walked back into the living room holding your bowl.
“Food’s done.”
Woojin immediately sat up.
“Where?”
You stared at him like he had just asked the dumbest question imaginable.
“In the kitchen, idiot,” you said. “Stop being lazy and go make yourself some.”
You and Ohyul ended up sitting on the couch together this time while the others were still in the kitchen making their bowls.
The TV screen was still sitting on the game menu, the controllers abandoned on the table.
You leaned forward and grabbed the remote.
“Since they’re taking forever,” you said, glancing over at him, “we might as well pick something to watch.”
Ohyul nodded, still holding his bowl carefully.
“Yeah… that’s probably a good idea.”
You started scrolling through the movies, occasionally pointing one out.
“What about this one?”
Ohyul tilted his head, reading the title before shaking his head a little.
“Hmm… I’ve seen that one already.”
You kept scrolling.
“What about this?”
“Oh—actually that one looks good.”
After a few minutes of going back and forth, the two of you finally settled on a movie you both agreed on. You started it without even asking the others.
By the time Woojin, Louis, and Ryul returned to the living room with their bowls, the movie had already begun.
They glanced at the TV.
“What are we watching?” Woojin asked.
You shrugged casually.
“Whatever we picked.”
Luckily, none of them complained.
Instead, they just sat down wherever there was space.
Woojin dropped down next to you, Louis sprawled across the other side of the couch, and Ryul took a spot on the floor.
Everyone began eating while watching the movie.
For a while, the room was quiet except for the sounds of slurping noodles and the TV playing in the background.
But eventually small conversations started.
Louis asked about the neighborhood.
Ryul asked how long you and Woojin had lived there.
You asked questions about their group—how dorm life was, what their schedules were like, and what debut had been like for them.
They told funny stories about practice, about late nights in the studio, and about the chaos of living together.
Even Woojin joined in, occasionally interrupting to correct their stories or roast them.
By the time everyone finished eating, the bowls were empty and everyone looked completely full.
Woojin leaned back on the couch dramatically.
“I can’t move.”
Louis groaned in agreement.
“I think I ate too much.”
You glanced at the clock on the wall.
“It’s already 9 PM,” you said. “When do you guys have to leave?”
Woojin stretched his arms over his head.
“Whenever, really,” he said. “But we do have something to do in the morning.”
He sighed.
“I guess we should probably get going.”
Ryul pulled out his phone.
“I’ll text the big boss,” he said, already typing a message to their CEO.
You stood up and started gathering the empty bowls and trash.
“Ohyul, can you—”
But before you could even finish your sentence, Ohyul was already standing.
“I got it,” he said quickly.
The two of you ended up cleaning together.
You gathered the unopened snacks and carried them back to your room to put away while Ohyul stayed behind, throwing away the empty containers and wiping down the table.
It didn’t take long before everything was cleaned up.
Meanwhile, the others had already started grabbing their jackets and shoes.
A few minutes later, a car pulled up outside.
Their CEO had arrived.
Everyone started heading toward the door.
“Love you, idiot,” you called out to Woojin with a wave.
He rolled his eyes but waved back anyway.
“Yeah, yeah.”
Louis and Ryul both thanked you for the food before stepping outside.
Soon they were gone.
Except for Ohyul.
He lingered near the doorway for a moment before turning toward you.
He bowed politely.
But before he could finish, you stepped forward and wrapped your arms around him in a quick hug.
Ohyul froze for a split second.
Then, slowly, he hugged you back.
You pulled away after a moment and smiled at him.
“No need to be so formal, Ohyul,” you said. “We’re the same age.”
He rubbed the back of his neck shyly.
“Sorry,” he said with a small smile.
Before he could turn to leave, you handed him a small folded piece of paper.
He looked confused but opened it.
His eyes widened.
It was your phone number.
You leaned against the doorframe with a small grin.
“Have a good rest of your night,” you said. “And don’t be scared to text.”
Ohyul nodded quickly.
“You too.”
Then he quickly jogged outside to catch up with the others.
As he climbed into the car, his mind was spinning.
He was in deep trouble.
With Woojin.
And with himself.
Because he had never believed in love at first sight before.
He always thought it was something people exaggerated in movies.
But the moment he saw you standing in that hallway earlier that day…
His opinion changed instantly.
You looked like everything he had ever imagined in his head.
And on top of that, you were kind, funny, and easy to talk to.
Ohyul stared down at the small piece of paper still in his hand.
I present another animation practice featuring the Wittebanes!
This uses a piece of audio that was cut from the animation “Drifting Apart” by Magpie. I asked for permission to post the animation I made with the discarded audio, and he kindly allowed it. :)
I highly recommend watching their original animation as well, it’s fantastic! Plus it gives context for who the lady is.
