Anon, first of all, I cannot believe this didnt cross my mind even once. I love all the cute pantsuit items and somehow didnt even once think of a tdf pantsuit despite drawing her like 100 million times. That said,

Like I was just saying this on r/Neopets too but in a vacuum I don’t actually hate the outfit they put her in. I think it’s cute and very Neopet-ish in a way I think other newer designs struggle with. It looks like something you’d see in The Darkest Faerie to me. It’s cute. Art is fine too.

But like… I always thought the main reason Vira was so beloved despite being a pretty underutilized obscure character WAS her stereotypical 2000s goth/alt girl look, like Gaz from Invader Zim, Sam from Danny Phantom, Triana from Venture Bros, etc. The new outfit doesn’t really scream goth at all, much less the same nostalgic Y2K Hot Topic goth that I think people particularly enjoy with characters like that. Surely with how trendy that exact style is right now there’s plenty of inspiration to look to for a Void-y outfit update that still pays tribute to 2000s gothic fashion? Like why use Vira as a major character in the plot if you’re gonna radically alter her entire look, when that’s the main reason she was appealing in the first place…
