Super random post but I got to see Ateez in LA and I’m just feeling very thankful for kpop as a whole. More under the cut if you want to read my cringy ass ramble about this genre :] also, let me know if you happen to fall into the super specific niche of kpop stan and F1 lover, let’s be friends!
I started listening in middle school and had a very long hiatus due to 1D (no regrets 1D4LIFE) and got back into it my freshman year of college, I’ve now been actively stanning groups for nearly five years and really have gained so many beautiful friendships and gotten introduced to such amazing artists because of it.
Ateez is one of those groups that have been with me since 2019 and I can’t explain the feeling of being able to see a group that I’ve seen grow before my eyes and grow WITH me LIVE IN CONCERT!!!!!! I’ve never had a concert depression like this before!!!! It was so fun to dress up, be in a space where everyone was down to be crazy and scream about these boys, and just overall participate in this community!!!
I took a bit of time off from kpop ever since BTS's hiatus because I miss their group activities so much, but this trip to LA + rehashing of my obsession with Ateez has CHANGED MEEEEE (hahaha i know very silly)!!!!
I sometimes feel discouraged from participating in kpop spaces bc I'm kind of old (just turned 24 lmfao) and that's geriatric to a lot of kpop stans 😭😂 I worry I'm being creepy by enjoying new groups but I realized recently its not that deep I think!!!! I truly just love this kind of music, the visuals, the dancing, etc, and to me kpop is so much more than the individual members of a group!!!
My kpop setup now!!!! I’ve never had a dedicated space for this stuff but I have finally accumulated enough albums to make a cute lil stack!!! Missing is BTS BE and MOTS:7, stuffed somewhere in my college dorm stuff that I never unpacked lol, RM’s Right Place, Wrong Person bc I forgot to add it before the pic, and the Chk Chk and Boom versions of SKZ’s ATE!! That pic of Namjoon is from their 2021 Season’s Greetings, which was my first kpop merch ever!! I like to say it’s my military wife photo hehe. That’s my number one man he’s my ride or die my forever and always in sickness and in health and I mean that 🗣️ my Seonghwa picket is now my most prized possession, so pretty!!!!!
Setting this up has also made me realize that I have quite a sizable photo card collection at this point! Thinking of getting a binder and sleeves to keep them organized! Lmk if you’d like to see my collection!
Peep my Lego McLarens and my RB 16! Lego Mercedes is off to the side, just haven’t built it yet!
I have a metric tone of posters to put up, will post when I get around to that.
