hi em! i have an idea for a fest in f1 and wonder if you have advice on running a fest and getting people to join? not many people follow me 🧍

all of the inspiration, organization, and aesthetics for fests i've helped run are entirely @officialmood and @racecrafting and not at all me! but i'll try to cobble together some meager knowledge:

-if you haven't joined a fest yet, it may be a good idea to see how it works, what you like about it, and make some pals!

-fests with gifting are WAY MORE DIFFICULT to run. in order to make sure everyone gets a gift, you have to be militant/have pinch hitters to write fast fics for dropouts, etc. if you just do a regular old fest and people are late, you could just leave the collection open so stragglers can publish when they're able.

-fewer rules are always better imo. remember when they didn't allow WAGs in WAG Fest? 🥹 or remember when they didn't allow 'hardcore' kink in kinktober? 🥹 to me, putting on a fest means inviting others to share in an experience, however that experience is pleasing to them. you're designing a public park and a lot of people will read on blankets or play frisbee but some may play music kinda loud and some might mutter to themselves on a bench but they're not hurting anyone! the fics that get uploaded to "your" collection are not reflections of YOU lol. it's easier for everyone have less rules and more fun!

-send me a link to your post and i'll reblog! but know that fest participation is never an indicator of how great you are or how interesting the fest is. i've seen the greatest fests in the word and simply been too busy with other works or life to join. i know it can feel like hoping people come to your birthday party, but don't give up if no one joins just yet. ive seen fests come and go for years and on year three been like "fuck it i finally have time." <3

several of my family members do that clap thing when they witness bad drivers xDD!! it's so stupiddd

i saw someone cut in near the front of a FERRY LINE (a class a felony imo) and the car behind them blasted the horn for what must have been 15 minutes continuously. it made me appreciate the subtle art of the clap because at least the rest of us aren’t in our cars like 🙉🙉🙉 “what’d he say fuck me for”
