“Oh hey. I didn’t expect you to be here. “
T.J. waved a hand in front of his nose to wave away the smelly smoke. “It’s a free world. Buildings like this one are fun. They have a lot of history and stuff.”
adamxlogan:
“You don’t smell it? It’s pretty strong. What’s on fire?”
A shrug came before he could really even think about an answer. Maybe he did smell it and he was trying to hide it, but the presence of smoke in his nostrils was always greater than the presence of a person. He had gotten use to the smoke, more than people. People sucked. Fire sucked... Slightly less. “I want to be a shit head and say your pants or your face.” T.J. replied, “But I don’t know.”
lukasxaimes:
“Those guys, maybe. You? You are way too young to sink to the bottom.” Lukas leaned back and crossed his arms, sensing something very fishy about the meet. “What do you have for him?”
“Don’t have anyone to care, luckily, and once you start at the bottom you seem to fall into it pretty easily.” If anything, he had someone who wanted him somewhere else. Like say prison. That was ironic. “Nothing you’ll find very interesting.” Looking down at his watch, he tapped his foot. His head was starting to hurt with how annoyed he was that Marko hadn’t shown up yet. “I need to go. Thanks for the coke.”
kat-everywhere:
People burst into flames when you get angry?Â
Look, I’m sure my mom and aunts can help you with this.
He hesitated for a moment before nodding. “Why does that excite you?” Come to think of it, why wasn’t she freaking the fuck out? “They’re not going to want to help me. I still don’t know why you want to.”
kat-everywhere:
Trust me, my family can handle this. We’re plenty dangerous ourselves.
“I doubt you get so angry that people or things burst into flames though I wonder if that’s just a thing my mind tells me to trick me -- and that spontaneous human combustion is real.”
kat-everywhere:
You think people need protection from…you? And why is that?
“Not enough creepy music to explain it all right now. Most people smell smoke and assume there’s a fire or someone started a fire. You want to introduce me to your mother. I could be an arsonist.” Which really, he wasn’t completely telling a lie. Sometimes he could control it and sometimes he couldn’t. “People get hurt around me.”
kat-everywhere:
I’m Kat and I’m taking you to my mom because there’s something off about you. Also, because she can protect you from the crazy people attacking you at random.
Now was not the time for the joke he wanted to say. “Uh, thanks? Everyone wants to know something is off about them.” Yeah right. For a few seconds, he’s confused as hell until he realized it was probably about the way he smelled. “The people attacking me at random are the ones who need protected. You ever consider that?”
kat-everywhere:
You are coming to meet my mom.
“You take everyone you meet to meet your mom or...? I’m confused. Who even are you?”
kat-everywhere:
Yeeeeah…no. You’re coming with me. Come on.
“UH, where are we going? You don’t know stranger danger, do you?”
lukasxaimes:
“Definitely need to talk to the guys. I need half of their share for the trouble they put me through. Sit.” He opened a diet coke and gave it to the kid, eyes to the corner, mentally planning something to make her leave the club. “What are you doing here at time like this anyway?”
He was trouble? Fine, he’d take it. He already knew that. When the man told him to sit, he did so. T.J. could barely find it in him to drink from the can yet. “What’s anyone doing here at a time like this? Sinking to the bottom of humanity. Me, personally? Waiting for a guy named Marko. I’ve got something for him and then I’ll be out of here. Same difference, I guess.”
lukasxaimes:
“Talk to my boss. And I need to talk to the guys at the front for letting you in.”
“There’s a chick in the corner doing cocaine. I don’t really think the dudes out front give a shit as long as they get paid but fine, I’ll go wait somewhere else.”
whitelighterinanambulance:
The story didn’t make sense at all. “So wait can you please tell me again what happened?” Matthew asked while treating the man. School? At this hour? “School, really? Got nothing better?” Matt asked. “Please don’t lie to me, I’m trying to save this man’s life nothing more. I won’t do anything even if you tell me the truth.”
T.J. sighed a long sigh before speaking again, “Look, I was just laying here and the guy comes up saying that it’s his spot, not mine. I say finders keepers, and he loses his shit.” Motioning to his shirt, he revealed a bloody tear in the side. “Flesh wound at most. I fall back and by the time I get over the shock and follow him out, he’s laying on the ground on fire. I put it out.” It wasn’t all a lie -- except the fact that he had caused the fire in self defense when he got cut and the guy didn’t really run anywhere. “That’s what happened. Shouldn’t you have a partner or something?”
whitelighterinanambulance:
Matt walked inside. “I’m Matthew, I’m a paramedic. What the hell happened here? How did he got burnt like that?” Matt looked around but couldn’t see anything that lead to this guy being burnt so badly. “At least that’s one of you 2 that will.”
“I’m T.J. and I don’t know. One minute he’s fine, the next he’s trying to stab me and then...” he motioned to the man groaning in pain. “I come out to find him stinking like someone tried to barbecue him.” T.J. lied before taking a step back from the crispier looking version of a man. “Now that you’re here, can I go? I have to get to school.” Okay, so another lie but whatever. It was self defense anyways.
whitelighterinanambulance:
“Did someone make a 911 call?”
“Gotta have a phone or money to make a 911 call, dude.” There was a moment when he had maybe thought -- I should call 911. But he didn’t have the power to make paramedics and shit appear, he had the ability to start fires. “But that guy could probably use you. Looks like someone set him on fire.” A thumb pointed over to a guy laying in the trash, rolling around in pain. “I on the other hand will live.”
jacechasesmason:
“C’mon, let me give you a hug!”
  “Stranger. Freaking. Danger.”
helen-smith:
“Don’t worry, I’m fine.”
“Yeah, you look totally fine walking around with that blood on your lip.”
lukasxaimes:
“Well? Do you have your ID with you? I need to see some ID before I can serve you that drink.”
“Didn’t know I need an I.D. for a diet Coke.”
