Echo + Fever :)
DON'T THREATEN ME WITH A GOOD TIME
boy is the worst when he is sick. hates being sick. will refuse to rest. he is so bad at resting. can't slow down, ya know?
refuses to eat anything when he doesn't feel good even though it is what helps him feel better. can't stand the sight of food.
lives off of tea absolutely drowned in sugar
tries to 'tough it out' which drives everyone that loves him up a wall
likes physical affection when he's sick but knows it'll just get everyone else ill so he tries not to request it
Fives is a great companion when taking care of him but he's not as good at keeping track of the medicine schedule so he leaves that to Kix.
Fives hates when Echo is sick because they run the risk of Fives getting put on a mission without him and that's terrifying
WHEN OTHER PEOPLE HAVE FEVERS he is all over them to keep them on the road to good health. I'm talking tea, soup, regular baths, medicine, rest, comfort, literally anything and everything he can do to make them feel more comfortable he will do. sweet boy
once had to take care of Rex when he was sick and was kind of shocked how easy he was to handle. he just slept and did as he was told and ate every meal Echo brought to him and took all the medicine. turns out when you're the sickest you've ever been in your life it freaks you out enough that you just try everything to heal. he wouldn't let Echo be too touchy with him out of fear of spreading it but he did let him sleep in a chair nearby. can't get Cody to stay away and got him sick
I feel like at some point I've mentioned a fic I keep working on where Crosshair is sick and Echo takes care of him so I'm putting a little snippet here for funsies :)
Fever
āDo you want me to tuck you in?ā Echo asked with a grin. If looks could kill. Crosshair huffed irritably, folding his blankets tighter around himself and deliberately turning away from him. With a shake of his head Echo took pity, finally standing from his seat and giving a gentle pat to the grumpy bundle before making his way towards the cockpit. āYell if you're dying." He was nearly all the way there before a muffled voice called out.
"You don't have to sit in the cockpit, ya know." It came out scratchy, stuffy, and Echo couldn't help but turn around to consider the man that had done everything but bite him in thanks for all the doting. Regardless, he easily took his seat at the bedside again, grabbing his datapad and leaning back.
āI'll be right here if you need me.ā Echo assured. There were a few reports he could knock out while he kept watch. Truthfully he preferred to be in the same room as someone else but was simply surprised that Crosshair didn't want to hide for the duration of an illness. Maybe the silence would allow his prickly patient a nap.
