Hey guys, I’m not going to be using this blog anymore so if anyone wants to still follow me please let me know; I will be deleting this one and using my other blog as my main one! Just message me and I’ll give you the URL x
Wish I was at this vegan bakery with @unconventionalliving right now 😋 if you’re ever in Toronto go to Bunners Bakery in Kensington Market 🙌🏼 like heaven 🙌🏼 #rawtillwhenever
I hope you got the cinnamon buns 😍
The Apartheid Wall
Ally, could you please explain to me the benefits of thrift/op shopping? I want to start buying more clothes from there, because I often find some gems. And I hear it's better for the world. But....how?
Sure thing anon! So other than the fact that it’s
a) beneficial to your wallet scoring those bargains andb) awesome because you find one of a kind gems that nobody else has,
there are some great benefits to out planet as well. For example:
Buying second hand clothing items means fewer items end up discarded in our landfills.
It saves the raw materials that would have been used to make a brand new item.
When you buy used, it saves the energy used, and pollution created, in the production, manufacturing, and transportation of the new item.
It saves on the packaging of the new item, both the production of the packaging, and the waste that it creates.
It’s a win-win-win :)
“I respect vegans diets, so vegans should respect mine”
But here’s the thing. Your diet causes a huge amount of very real harm. Eating animal products seriously contributes to climate change, mass deforestation, environmental racism, human rights violations, antibiotic resistant bacteria, extreme pollution, and just so much animal suffering.
That’s not something that deserves respect. That is a severe issue, and you can’t hide behind “personal preference” when your dietary choices are causing objectively horrific things.
there are only two things i’ll always be loyal to: harry potter and feminism
I want to be all that I am capable of becoming.
