We had our county championships for cross country on thursday, and i'm actually really proud of myself. I ran the JV race, but I got 1st place on my team and 14th place in the race, overall. I got a 41 second pr, and I kept a positive attitude the whole time. I think I'm headed in the right direction :)
I am beginner & just pushed myself to 3 miles this week, is that too much to do everyday? My goal is to loose 25 lbs within 4 months
Listen to your body! If doing 3 miles felt good, keep doing that and steadily increase your distance or pace. If 3 miles felt like it was way too much, maybe take things a bit easier.
Some weeks you may feel different than others, too. You may feel great at the start of a week and exhausted by the end of it, and that’s completely fine. Just don’t stress your body to the point of injury :)
What about stretching??? I have read mixed reviews about stretching before & after running any tips?? Which is better?
Long before I started running, I heard that stretching before and after you run is the best thing to do. When I started running, my coach said the exact same thing.
Stretching before you run definitely decreases the risk of injury, and stretching after helps the soreness of running. So my advice is to definitely stretch before and after a run.
