Not that anybody asked, but I think it's important to understand how shame and guilt actually work before you try to use it for good.
It's a necessary emotion. There are reasons we have it. It makes everything so. much. worse. when you use it wrong.
Shame and guilt are DE-motivators. They are meant to stop behavior, not promote it. You cannot, ever, in any meaningful way, guilt someone into doing good. You can only shame them into not doing bad.
Let's say you're a parent and your kid is having issues.
Swearing in class? Shame could work. You want them to stop it. Keep it in proportion*, and it might help. *(KEEP IT IN PROPORTION!!!)
Not doing their homework? NO! STOP! NO NOT DO THAT! EVER! EVER! EVER! You want them to start to do their homework. Shaming them will have to opposite effect! You have demotivated them! They will double down on NOT doing it. Not because they are being oppositional, but because that's what shame does!
You can't guilt people into building better habits, being more successful, or getting more involved. That requires encouragement. You need to motivate for that stuff!
If you want it in a simple phrase:
You can shame someone out of being a bad person, but you can't shame them into being a good person.
Fun fact, that was literally what inspired me to make this post!
Wishing you a happy solstice (winter or summer, as the case may be). Unless you're a flat earther, in which case, Happy Inexplicable Phenomenon!
The issue with the daylight savings time change is that people aren't used to falling back an hour or springing forward an hour, and people struggle as they take the time to adjust. But of course, if you only do something twice a year you'll never develop a talent for it. You need to practice if you really want to be good at something! Under my proposal, which absolutely everyone will hate,
I saw a dream I performed Bang Bang with Ariana and Cynthia at some big gala. When we saw on Thursday I assumed they would suggest a rehearsal but nobody did. So we did the show on Saturday with no singing, dancing, camera work or dress change practice. And we crushed it. I had one small solo and other than that I was singing back up. Cynthia had an epic dress change moment on stage. What a dream.

My running goal for this year is to once again be able to run 10 km in an hour by the beginning of October.
I have been running once a week or once every two weeks during the year 2023. It hasn't improved my endurance, but it made it so that my bones and softer tissues don't hurt, unless I stumble on a downhill. Last time I ran in December, the lenght was 6 km.
Today the temperature isn't as freezing as it was before, so I'm planning on going for the first run of the year. :3 Either 8 kilometers or 10.

I officially ran my 10 K starting time for this running season. :3
It was so fun! My shoes didn’t make any noise, because I was running on slightly gripping ice. It was getting dark and I just felt like I was in a movie.
My end time was 1 h 6 min and 10 sec, which is a good starting time for me, especially in March. My goal for this year is to at least get it down to 55 minutes but getting it to 50 minutes would be so cool, because I have never gotten it that low. :)
During March, my running schedule will be three runs per week, and the length will vary between 6 K and 10 K, depending on the weather and on what mood I’m in. Sometimes I love running chill sprints more than going on that grilling 10 K, even though running longer makes me feel more at peace.
Happy trails! ^^
4th run of this season, and todays stats were so great. I managed to drop 15 seconds from the first 3 kilometres. And in the end my stats were 6.03/km. I’m so hyped!
Once the weather gets better and I manage to run a slightly better time, I’m going to add some more length. I can’t wait for the spring to start. :3
I started my running season at 8th of February.
My current running schedule for anyone who needs ideas:
I run 6 km three times a week.
For the first 1.5 km I warm up by running/jogging/walking/sprinting in about 30 sec intervals. Then after that until the 3 km mark, I try to keep a nice hard-but-not-too-hard running speed for 1 minute and then walk enough to catch my breath.
Then for the 3 km back, I jog/run for 1 minute and walk for 50 sec.
This is nice and challenging atm, but not too hard to discourage me.
After my running times stabilize for 3 consecutive times to 6 min/km, I’m going to increase the over all length into 8 km.
Late winter and spring is always a tough time, because the roads are icy, it is raining slush, the temp is -10 degrees of celsius and the wind is nuts. So my goal during February, March and April is not to actually achieve anything, but rather to establish my running schedule, figure out what to eat and when and how to make sure I can maintain my strength from winter.
This blog is about to be active, cause it is finally running season! Wuhuu. :33
A new fitblr
Hello, hello! This is a side blog for all my running, dancing and health goals.
My running season officially starts 28 of February but I’m running on Saturdays and on Monday mornings to get a smooth start.
Last year I ran 10 K three times a week. My first goal was to run it in one hour. And then I wanted to see, if I could run it in 55 minutes. Turns out I could.
The last month of running was amazing. I was running in near darkness and s light drizzle, I felt like Katniss Everdeen, absolutely unstoppable. But Since I haven’t been able to run consistently after the mid of October… My endurance is pretty bad. But I managed to pick it up last time, and I will do so this time too :)
This year’s goal is 10 K in 50 minutes. First I want to get the 5 K middle point in 30 minutes and then manage to run the 10 K consistently in on hour. Then I’ll start to aim for that 55 minutes again and after that 50 minutes.
So, if someone wants to join me on this journey, follow this blog and let’s cheer each other on. :) I want to find other runners, so reblogs are very much appreciated.
I went on a spontaneous 2.5 km run. I did sprints, and it felt amazing. It took me 13.43 min
