So I recently watched Shanspeare's deconstruction essay of the Manic Pixie Dream Girl, and this theory actually patches up almost every hole in the concept that was there due to mysogyny.

Who is the Pixie outside of the POV of the male character? The answer is nobody, because she is a fantasy, not a real woman, but HERE, it's because she is the POV character but from another time, we know nothing actual about her because she's trying to keep the time travel a secret, and she loves the POV character because she had gone on a long journey of learning to love herself, including the person she used to be, and she seems to only be here to give him depth because she's on a time-travel deadline and she is a woman on a mission.
