Eda, Luz, and physical affection

I think that one of the most significant parts of Eda and Luz's dynamic is the way they show affection.

Obviously, Luz loves giving hugs, and it's contagious since Gus and Willow went straight in for a hug when they met back with her in I Was a Teenage Abomination. And they had just met her that day. And we already know Eda is uncomfortable with it (I always thought it was because she was touch starved)

at least until the finale, because she was ready for the impact and so SO happy to see her family again.

Eda shows affection with hair ruffles, head pats, or a hand on the shoulder. She does this multiple times with Luz whenever she's reassuring her, or showing she's proud of her. Also, notice how on 3 occasions, Luz LOVES it. She loves that she made somebody PROUD of her.

(She also cups Luz's cheek in that one scene in YBOS!)

I think this is representative of their personalities. Luz is more direct and persistent with people she loves. Eda is distant and more subtle, but she still shows she cares while keeping her space.

Hopefully in season 2, we'll get more hugs between these two.
