amita’s audible intake of breath before jesper hugs her. amita suman cares so fucking much about inej and her trauma, and because the writers (the fuckers) have not yet touched on her backstory, her acting portrays it so subtly. she is a fucking incredible actress. amita is subtly showing her trauma because it’s reminiscent of “it’s not easy for me either. her voice, low and steady, the voice that had once led him back from hell. even now, a boy will smile at me in the street, or jesper will put his arm around my waist, and i feel like i’m going to vanish.”
