In all honestly, Caitlin wasn’t sure how well her telekinesis would work trying to move so many things at once. She’d never tried to use her powers with more than one thing because there was never a need to. But hey, there’s a first time for everything.
Caitlin took a deep breath as she sized up the iron monstrosity in front of her. It was huge, no doubt about it. And chances were, it would probably take up a lot of her mental strength. But dealing with a headache was a much better option than riding through each car individually. They only had 15 minutes.
Slowly, Caitlin managed to make the entire axle turn until one of the cars was within range. As the cars teeter-tottered back and forth, Caitlin couldn’t help but feel a bit of anxiety. The ferris wheel couldn’t possibly fall off or lose its cars, could it? It looked to be stable enough. But how stable could a ton of metal possibly be?
The psychic forced herself to relax. It wasn’t just for her own sake, it was for Yancy’s too. Yancy had only known Caitlin for a few hours, but she seemed to trust the psychic enough. Maybe it was because she didn’t realize how dangerous the situation could be. I mean, did actors and actresses usually have stunt doubles? OR maybe it was just because she was confident in the blonde’s abilities. Whatever it was, it gave Caitlin the boost she needed to keep going.
The blonde watched as Yancy checked the inside of the cars. The process repeated itself, over and over again. Move. Check. Repeat. As more and more cars were checked, Caitlin began to feel anxiety to well up inside of her. It had to be in of the cars, Caitlin just knew it. But every time Yancy went out of each car empty-handed, Caitlin’s heart sank just a little bit more. What if somebody took it? Until finally, finally there was only car left to check.
Caitlin was in the middle of moving the last car when she heard “MISS!”.
That was as all it took for the blonde to whip her head around to see a portly man come running forward. Well this was probably the operator who had gone on a lunch break.
“What do you think you are doing?!” he called out, as he continued to run towards Caitlin and Yancy. “GUEST ARE NOT allowed to operate any and all machinery, whatsoever!”
At hearing this, Caitlin pursed her lips in thought. She could certainly obey the man. That would save the two girls lots of trouble (and maybe a trip to prison). And for all she knew, maybe somebody already it the Nimbasa Amusement Park Lost n’ Found. You know, where all the lost children went.
Then finally, she turned her focus back onto the ferris wheel and moved the last car into place. She quickly nodded at Yancy to check once more. This elicited only a gaping mouth and raised eyebrows from the man, who shifted his gaze from Caitlin, to the wheel, and then back to the blonde.
Caitlin held her breath as she waited for Yancy to come out.

Stunt-doubles? Pshah, who needs them? Yancy /always/ did her own stunts, much to the chagrin of her manager. She liked to think it added a sense of realism if it was her climbing up a scaffolding or parkouring across a city scene. Plus it was super fun, even if there always had to be a psychic Pokemon or two or three on hand to make sure she didn’t get too hurt. Huh. Maybe that was the reason that she wasn’t allowed to take those kinds of roles very often.
But! Caitlin was right. Yancy was a little bit too trusting as a person and she had complete confidence in the blonde’s abilities. So even while Kai turned into a Halloween Delcatty at the sight of the Ferris Wheel turning on its own, the pinkette was absolutely thrilled by the amazing display of power and wasted no time in ducking in to check for the lost card. Again. And again. And again. To no avail it seemed. Each quick check of the car ended up with nothing but leftover wrappers, loose change, and the odd unidentifiable knick-knack.
She had just jumped out of the second to last car and given a shake of her head when she spotted someone hurrying towards them. Well, well. Looks like their playing with the gigantic iron monolith hadn’t gone entirely unnoticed. Which was understandable, considering they had gathered quite a crowd with Caitlin’s psychic turning of the wheel. He wanted them to stop, but it was too late now. It was all or nothing, the wheel was turning again, she had to finish this. The law be damned.
The girl all but dove into the last car as soon as it came within reach and immediately subjected it to the most thorough inspection of its life. Floor, window ledges, even the little crack between the side of the seat cushions and the wall of the container was investigated. And it was wedged into the smallest of these gaps that she hit a small square of plastic, which she eagerly dug out. Was it...Was it...???
“Yes!” Yancy cheered, recognizing it as a credit card with the name of the lovely psychic young woman printed on it with beautiful letters. This was it, they had done it, the case had been solved! Now their potential getting in trouble would all be worth it!
“I found it!” She exclaimed, waving it in the air as she hopped out of the Ferris Wheel carriage. “Look, this is it, right?”
The pinkette all but skipped over to Caitlin before holding out the card, completely ignoring the man who had been yelling at them moments before. He was unimportant right now, thank you.
