Leah Kauffman, composer of "Obama Girl," offers a lovely protest of SOPA and PIPA.
Opinion piece from the Stanford Law Review on the effects SOPA could have on the entire Internet and its users.
Bishop Deborah Lieder Kiesey of the Dakotas Conference of the UMC offers an Advent message to the people of the Dakotas and beyond.
National Novel Writing Month 2011 Stats
I just got around to reading the statistics from 2011′s National Novel Writing Month event, which concluded on November 30. This was my first year, so it was a new and exciting experience – particularly because, thanks to the miracles of technology and the internet, I got to meet and interact with people from many places in our world.
Here’s the “wow” from this year:
256,618 participants
3,074,068,446 words written (validated by upload to nanowrimo.org’s servers to be counted)
An average 11,979 words per person
36,774 persons made it to the “winner” level – writing at least 50,000 words.
It was fun. I’ll be doing this again
Another solid smash to Newt Gingrich from the Ron Paul campaign. Give it a view.
Read this essay from Richard Beck, written in 2009, about what I'd call "practical Christianity" in America. Riveting, and even convicting. Thanks to John Petersen for posting this on Facebook.
The essay is on Mr. Beck's blog, here.
SOPA, otherwise known as the "Stop Online Piracy Act," while laudable in its intent, is in actuality legislation that throws the baby out with the bath water. Here's a chance to put your face (well, an image of it, anyway) on a petition that is trying to stop this push to lock down the internet - something we do not need!

WordPress 3.3 - Sweet!
WordPress have just upgraded their platform to Version 3.3. I've spent about 5 minutes so far with the new-and-improved interface and read the list of improvements. Very nice! If you're running your site on WordPress, this is an update well worth doing. Not running WordPress yet? (tsk tsk). It's a great time to start ;-). Run the update from your Dashboard. If you're just getting started, you can download WP 3.3 from wordpress.org.
Be afraid, friends - very afraid!
