“how the fuck did you get covid?” woo scoffed, rolling his eyes as he looked at mingi on the screen. “you don’t leave your room unless you’re here at the compound. you know this is a major pain in the ass, don’t you?” @rvmingi

@rvdongwoo
“how the fuck did you get covid?” woo scoffed, rolling his eyes as he looked at mingi on the screen. “you don’t leave your room unless you’re here at the compound. you know this is a major pain in the ass, don’t you?” @rvmingi
“i think it’s a bit of a stretch to say that you’re washed,” woo scoffed, shaking his head. “we don’t have to win to qual to the next round. we just need to be top ten. and like...taek is an option i guess, but ruiqi would play better if he wasn’t our sub...” @rvkeean
“you-- i’ve seen you before,” woo commented, eyes narrowing at the girl hanging around bootcamp. “mingi’s friend, yeah? or his girl’s friend? what are you doing in our compound?” @rvyooi
“i need you to be honest with me,” dongwoo said, looking ruiqi in the eye. “mingi has covid. we still need to play. quals are a LAN. keean could tag in, but he’s said himself that he’s washed. taek is our best option. but i need to know how deep your rift with him goes, because i’m not bringing him in if it’s going to cause major shit.” @rvsurii
rvsurii:
“i’ll hold you to that, then,” she conceded, nodding her head slightly. “i am feeling burnt out on bloodhound though, woo. would it be too hard to try to implement valkyrie or something?”
“now that we can try to do,” he conceded, offering her a tiny smile. he knew she wasn’t being annoying on purpose. and he got why she was kind of upset. “we’ll talk to keean this week and see what he thinks about potential comps that we can try.”
rvkeean:
“i just… wish you would have talked to me about this before the game and we could have workshopped a better way to run it,” keean admitted. “because it worked, but barely. there were so many better ways you could have done it.”
“okay, so lets workshop it now. tell me-- what would you have done to make it work better?” dongwoo challenged.
rvtaek:
“that psycho bitch hit me the other day, dongwoo. like actually smacked me. she’s unhinged. you’re gonna regret having her on your team the first time you have a tournament and she’s pms-ing.”
“good. you probably deserved it,” dongwoo scoffed back, rolling his eyes. ruiqi wasn’t really prone to violence. if it was true, and taek wasn’t just lying out his ass, he probably had done something pretty nasty to make her act out like that. “i’ve been playing with her for almost a year now, taek. if that was a real thing, and not just some sort of weird incel thing you’re holding against her, it would have cropped up as a problem by now.”
rvkeean:
“doesn’t matter– you’re still playing for money. millenium wants to see high placement. if you place high, you stay in their good books and keep all the benefits,” keean insisted. “seriously– i could tell a mile away it was risky. you really needed to playtest to know that?”
“no, but i need a playtest to see how other teams will react to that,” dongwoo answered bluntly. “i’ll keep first runs of risky plays for scrims from now on, but when we’ve already qual’d, i’m not going to phone anything in. i want to practice so we’re set for finals.”
rvsurii:
“whatever. octane and rev were on that list until literally last month. when you change your mind– and you will– i’m not having any gaslighting.” she retorted stubbornly.
“if lifeline becomes meta-- and she won’t-- i’ll apologize to you directly and take all the i told you so’s you have. but until then, we play blood.”
rvlana:
“then fucking go all in and get them. worth.”
“will do. maybe i can even swing a sponsorship for them or something.”
rvtaek:
“so what you’re saying is, she’s only better than me because she has aimbot,” taek said, grabbing onto the controller part of it and ignoring the rest. “fuck you, man. i’m your team. she’s a poser.”
“you were my team. and now you’re a liability to my team. i’m not playing along with your fucking pity party, taek. it’s been months. grow up and get over it, or get out of the fucking way.”
rvwook:
“A texture thing, maybe? I can imagine it might make things look a little bit… gritty, I guess,” Jaewook said with a shrug.
“it makes everything look foggy, for lack of a better word. and when i’ve played this game this way for as long as i have, and gotten as good as i have, i’m not really too keen on change. especially if that change makes it harder to see.”
rvtaek:
“then who’s fault is it, because as far as i can see, she’s the one sitting in my fucking chair,” taek retorted. “fuck off, man. i’m good. i’m probably the most mechanically gifted in all of knifepoint. it’s not fair.”
“so is she. you’re mechanically gifted, but your game sense is ass. hers is so much better than yours, not to mention she’s a controller player, so now i have a close quarters fragger, and she takes direction better. we miss you, taek, but focus on what you can improve on and stop taking it out on my team. grow up.”
rvnemo:
“I heard they’re good… but one of my friends said that they weren’t all that it’s cracked up to be… So personally, I’m not that good of a source to ask.” She says shyly, “I can keep asking around to some of my friends but maybe they’re worth buying if the reviews are good?”
“honestly, i’m probably just going to pull the trigger and get a pair,” he sighed. “best case scenario, it works. worst case...i waste 200$. which, frankly, is chump change if we place in playoffs. maybe i could even swing a blue light glasses sponsor or some shit.”
rvsurii:
“good players can make anything work. i guess i’m just not satisfied playing it safe and going with the meta just because it’s the meta,” she said, with a frustrated huff. “i thought you guys were more innovative than that. or at least had more confidence in your own abilities….”
“don’t try to manipulate me into playing your way. we are innovative and clever, but there’s a difference between being innovative and playing with a D-tier legend. no lifeline, no rampart, no mirage, no fuse, no loba. figure it out. i’m not IGLing something destined to fail.”
“bro, i’m gonna keep it real with you right now, i hated that last play,” keean began, rocking back and forth in his chair as he looked at the igl. “it was so risky for no good reason. you guys got lucky with those gold bags– otherwise you would have been full wiped. i don’t see a need to pull shit like that in qualifiers.” @rvdongwoo
“we’d have qualified on algs points alone even if we hadn’t gotten second in that tournament. it’s not a big deal,” woo answered, shrugging. “we all know scrims are shit-- things like this are our only real chance to get real practice for playoffs. now we know how that sort of move plays out. it’s a net positive.”
rvwook:
“Yeah, that’s what I was thinking. I know there’s some monitors that have a matte coating that helps with glare, but that’s not always the case. The blue-light glasses might be more help in the long run.”
“not too fond of the matte coating,” woo admitted. “i’ve played with those before. it just feels off, i don’t know how to describe it. but anyway, i have to use the monitors provided by my sponsor so that in itself isn’t even my choice.”
