“hey, i’m sorry i blew you off....” even though it hadn’t been something she had control over (last minute meetings were the bane of her existence), fallon still felt a little guilty when she had to ditch. “are you busy today?”

“i had a job in administration before they moved me. i liked it. all i had to do was answer phone calls and file paperwork,” she replied wistfully. “well, i’m an employee, not talent, so i don’t have a contract in that sense of the word. but i have benefits and get paid well, so it’s really a matter of financial independence vs my happiness at this point.”

“why did you take the promotion then, if you don’t mind me asking?” fallon had left her previous job because she hated it. it bored her and she was sick of the corporate bullshit she had to deal with on a daily basis. but that didn’t seem to be the case for fuyuko. “there are other well paying jobs if you hate managing traxx that much.” she’d say that maybe things would get better, but that would be a little disingenuous. “maybe spotlight can offer you some kind of training if you ask?”

As crazy as it got around Liberty in the planning stages leading up to comebacks, Limmy wouldn’t change her job for the world. She loved the chaos of it all. However, she also really liked the moments where she got to turn it off for a bit. “Of course, just give me a couple minutes to finalize these sketches, yeah?” She adored hanging out with Fallon - she was one of her closest friends and Limmy was hardly pretending when she declared her proud to have her as a work wife.

fallon waved a hand through the air, “take your time. as long as you don’t mind me looking over your shoulder.” she took a few steps further into the room, adjusting her purse on her arm. it was fun to watch other people work; it made her a little nostalgic for when she worked in an office and not wherever journey was. “those look really good, lim.”

“they could hardly make my life any harder than dayoon does,” fuyuko laughed. “maybe nothing is perfect. but i bet even a group with a fraction less issues than mine would feel perfect after the year and a half i’ve had…”

“you still have a job, though,” fallon offered, even if she knew it really was a bottom of the barrel response. it was still something, though. “how long is your contract? maybe when it’s up and you have more experience, you can switch companies.”

“maybe i should request a transfer. i bet the new spotlight girl group will need a manager,” yuko retorted with a tiny smile. “i could be in charge of hyunjin and chase and nana……that’s the dream.”

“and give the higher ups a reason to make your life hell?” if she thought it would make things any better, she would encourage yuko to go through with it. “every group has issues and challenges.” granted, not many that give you the kind of trouble her friend has. “nothing is perfect.”

“i am dead. i am fully dying,” fuyuko groaned, slumping over on the table. “siwan and dayoon fully almost got in a fist fight the other day. in the middle of a photo shoot! i’m 5′5 and 80lbs soaking wet– how in the hell am i supposed to break that up? this is a nightmare”

she reached over to pet yuko’s hair, sighing mostly to herself. it was times like this that she was beyond thankful that the members of journey weren’t trying to cause each other bodily harm. “maybe you should request more security for full group schedules,” she offered, though she wasn’t sure it would be much help.

“hey, you want to grab a drink when you’re done here?” fallon wasn’t used to having much time to just....be a person, and she wasn’t really sure what to do with it now that she’s been given the night to herself. adults went out for drinks after work, right? it was lame to go out on her own, though, and her work wife was the only person she could think of to invite.

“you have everything you need?” fallon asked as she checked around the room to make sure she hadn’t forgotten anything. “you guys have schedules all day so it’s now or never if there’s anything here you wanna take.”

“how are you hanging in there, yuko?” management was stressful, even with a group of people who didn’t give you hell every time you tried to do your job. she slid a bottle of water across the table and leaned forward to rest her chin on her palm.

hello!! introducing fallon, journey’s manager and an unintentional mom friend. she’s a huge stickler for the rules when she’s working, but if she ever took some time to herself, she would realize she is fully capable of having fun. she’s also on the matchmaker page so :eyes emoji: as always, more below the cut; i’ll probably post a starter call in the server but if you’re interested, liking this post also works

she has a masters’ degree in communication and she’s very proud of it (yes it is hanging in her living room, no she does not have any shame about it)

used to work in pr, it was her first Real Job after she graduated but she realized that she didn’t actually enjoy it and there wasn’t much room for growth where she was working

so she applied at liberty kind of on a whim and ended up being journey’s manager

thinks she has an off button for work. she’s wrong. she doesn’t and it’s kind of made her personal life boring (which she doesn’t consciously mind)

please give her friend or a significant other who can show her the world outside the walls of her apartment and being a manager
