he smiled at her– it was nice to see her so excited. there was a while there that he’d been sure he’d ruined her career with his scandal. hers and sunyi both. to see her finally debuted, and loving it so much despite it all? he was proud, but he was also relieved. the collateral was a lot less than he’d thought. “i’ve seen a ton of your fancams! you really turn it on when you get on the stage– that’s not something that can be taught. that’s just talent.”

she was really proud, and though she’d never admit it, get such a good compliment from her older brother meant a lot to her. she let out a little huff and an incredulous expression before going to hug him. “yeah well...you’re not half bad either, i guess.”

rvchase​:

“yeah, probably. but i’m glad we’ve got him and juno– it makes our company so much more notable. and…” she paused, smiling a little. “i’m sure you’re glad too. for other reasons…”

she frowned, blushing furiously as she pouted. “i hardly think i know what you’re talking about,” she said curtly, crossing her arms over her chest. “you don’t get to say anything, because i have tons i can throw right back at you, chaeneul.”

rvbaohui​:

“Can’t say I know enough about that, myself,” Baohui responded. “Yeah, that’s what I was thinking. They get debuted first and it helps build a stable fanbase for the rest of the group. At least, I hope that’s the case.”

“i mean that’s what byulbit did, right?” sunjoo pointed out. “polaris is basically just the greatest hits and top picks of every unit, and then people get invested and check out everything that happens beyond that.”

rvjaebin​:

“hardly. i’m pretty proud, actually. got a good reaction,” he told her, fingers sliding under her sweater and up her bare skin. she was funny when she was annoyed. the fact that she tried so hard to pretend like she didn’t like him, too, was very entertaining. it was a fun game to tease her until she dropped that pretense. “no fun. no risk. i pride myself on having many different ways to get your heart racing. two birds, one stone,” he insisted, kissing down her neck (and admittedly debating on whether or not to give her a hickey tbh– it wasn’t like she was promoting. at most, her groupmates and sister would tease her, and that was funny). “i can’t wait for some mc to ask you what your ideal type is…. and for you to think of this moment, right now…. and get all red and flustered…” he whispered in her ear.

she shivered despite herself, cheeks turning pink. she was, unfortunately, very ticklish, and even more unfortunately-- jaebin knew that and liked to use it to his advantage. the nerve of him, really. “i...would much rather...you do it in a way where i’m not at risk to lose my job,” she stumbled out, arms wrapping around his neck tightly, biting her lip so she wouldn’t involuntarily make a noise she deemed to be embarrassing. his comments were getting to her, though; her blush deepening as he did what he pleased. “who said y-you’re my ideal type?” she asked, breathless and not at all convincing.

hasikrv​:

“hey now. musically. we don’t need to bring all that back up,” hasik said, turning bright red at his sister’s teasing. “what’s been your favorite part of being debuted so far, do you think?”

“singing for an audience. i really like doing what i’m good at and having people see,” she said with a little smile, putting the jokes aside and answering him sincerely. “i dunno. i take pride in how charismatic i am when i perform, and seeing people share around my fancams and talk about that means a lot.”

rvchase​:

“true, but from what i know, that wasn’t happening. i think nathan has a complex about people thinking he’s gotten what he’s got from his dad’s influence, and it’s easier to prove that it’s all him if he’s not working in the same building,” she pointed out.

“fair enough. i’m hasik’s half-sister, and he’s got the worst reputation around, and even i get those accusations. and i’m not trying to write or breakout solo or anything. i guess i get where he’s coming from there.”

rvjaebin​:

“hey, i’m not that stupid,” jaebin quipped back, hands resting on her waist. honestly, he could think of worse situations to be caught in. “hey, if i recall correctly, you were kissing me back. you weren’t trying to get away. this isn’t all my fault.” if he really took the time to analyze, he probably always liked her. and any of his teasing had never been malicious– a little biting maybe, but never downright mean. maybe he should be more frustrated, but he was mostly just happy with himself. he was having repeated engagements with a pretty girl who made him laugh. he won. “you need to be quieter,” he told her with a smile, kissing her as the footsteps grew louder. “someone’s going to hear you….”

“that was gross and you should be ashamed of that joke,” she scoffed, rolling her eyes and ducking her head. “yeah, but it was your assnine idea to do it there. i was headed to a practice room, but you’re too horny to walk three feet to the right,” sunjoo insisted, groaning a little as he kissed her again. “i’ve barely debuted and you’re gonna be the end of my fucking career,” she muttered, pouting again.

rvjaebin​:

“if i pulled the strings, i would get someone less distracting. like myungji. i bet she wouldn’t be squawking in my ear non-stop,” he answered, looking up to smile at a personal assistant giving him a call. “you should really compose yourself, though– we’re on in five. try to keep your obnoxious-ness contained.”

“i’ll work on that. you should work on getting your head out of your ass before we go live. i don’t think that’s safe for broadcast,” she answered tersely, smiling and giving the PA a gesture of acknowledgement.

hasikrv​:

“i like to pretend it didn’t happen. i like to think everything before overdose didn’t happen,” hasik admitted. they got him where he was, but songs like wolf? not exactly something he’d say he necessarily enjoyed. “you came across super confident! i really thought you were a huge highlight of the music videos, and i’m not just saying that because you’re my sister.”

“you say that like after overdose was a shining time for you, though. if i remember correctly, it was only a few months after that that you started getting into a fuck-ton of trouble,” she said in a sing-song voice. “well, duh. but i guess if you’re saying it, it’s extra true.”

rvchase​:

“i still have no idea how spotlight duped noah in. he seems not to fit at all. like, we’re lucky to have him and he makes juno great but…… spotlight lucked out with him. he didn’t need any training, which is good, because he wouldn’t have gotten any meaningful rap training here.”

“no kidding. but also, how the fuck is juno the way that it is? they’re such an anomaly. they really would have suited higher way better.”

“this has to be one of the stupidest things i’ve ever done,” sunjoo grumbled, pouting a little, nose to nose with jaebin in the janitors closet. she wasn’t sure when the taunting and the jabs had turned into sexual tension, but somewhere, it had, and she wasn’t too prideful to ignore that. clearly he hadn’t been either. but their rendezvous kept getting riskier and riskier, and at this moment in question, they’d needed to slide into a closet to hide after nearly being spotted by a pr rep on her way to lunch while they’d been kissing in a hallway. “this is why i don’t spend time with you, jaebin. every time you just get me in trouble. god.” @rvjaebin​

rvjaebin​:

“and by no choice of my own. maybe you’d be better off if you weren’t clinging to my arm for the past five years,” jae insisted with an eyeroll. “speaking of– how much did you beg to get on a live with your favorite oppa, huh?”

“oh, please. i know that we’re only doing this live because you went and pulled strings so you could pretend to the world like you get any female attention. don’t spin this on me,” she retorted.

rvbaohui​:

“I don’t doubt it – too bad you can’t get a grant for kpop training, that would’ve been helpful,“ Baohui joked. "Hopefully? I know there’s supposed to be units but I don’t know anything beyond that so far. The guys who went on Idol Project are probably”

“well, i mean-- i bet you could if you were so good at twisting things that you’re basically a scan artist. but i don’t know enough about any of that to really say,” sunjoo shrugged. “well, i mean, i guess that’s smart. might as well debut the popular ones who everyone know first.”

“hey, i technically debuted with two songs too! i hafta say, though, i think yours are a lot better,” hasik encouraged with a smile. “you got featured a lot! i was a little worried that maybe they’d give you the pansy treatment but…..you got a lot of time. i’m really happy for you.” @rvjulie​

“honestly, i have to agree. i forgot history was a thing until literally this second,” sunjoo answered. “thanks, hasik. i worked hard. and i think i came across really cool-- i bet no one would watch and think i’m the maknae...”

rvchase​:

“it’s not really a priority to them, i suppose. they don’t really care about their rap as much as they do everything else. which….probably pisses people like noah off to high heavens, but we all probably should have known what we were getting into, what with the precedent…”

“yeah. if i was a big rapper, i wouldn’t look at traxx and juliette and go oh yeah this is where i’ll shine the best,” sunjoo snorted

rvjaebin​:

“if that’s the case, you’ve got it covered,” jaebin retorted, rolling his eyes. “honestly, you’ve had years of practice. this position is great for you.”

“i’ve learned from the best. maybe all your jack-assedness rubbed off on me,” sunjoo sang, collecting her hair over one shoulder. “i guess i have you to thank for showing me what a real annoying prick looks like.”

“so, if i have your track record to go off of, i guess being the maknae just means being fucking annoying?” sunjoo asked, crossing her arms and looking up at jaebin. spotlight was running a special maknaes vlive, and as the two most rookie maknae, they had to show up early to practice or something stupid like that. “piss off all my members, and be a spoiled brat. got it. notes taken.” @rvjaebin​
