Hey! Yes ofc! Sorry it took a little while, I was trying to find motivation😭

The sun was setting, casting a warm orange glow over the dilapidated buildings of the old city. You and Ellie had spent the day scavenging for supplies, your laughter mingling with the heavy air as you joked about the previous night’s tense encounter with the Infected. Ellie’s spirit was a lifeline for you, a reminder that joy could be found even in the worst of times.
As you settled down for the evening on a faded, moth-eaten rug inside an abandoned apartment, the weight of the day pressed down on your shoulders. Ellie had discarded her pack to the side, sitting down against the edge of the dusty, beige bed in the room. She seemed relaxed to be by your side in that moment, but she was never fully relaxed. She didn't allow herself to be.
As you both sat in silence, exhaustion clinging to you both, Ellie glanced at you, her green eyes sparkling with mischief.
"What’s wrong?" she teased, crossing her arms over her plaid shirt, her tone playfully mocking.
You chuckled, shaking your head, unable to meet her gaze. "Just tired, I guess. Can't wait to get back to Jackson."
“Oh, come on! We’ve been through worse.” Ellie nudged you with her shoulder. She seemed more playful tonight, unlike every other night. "You remember when we got lost while on patrol a few winters ago? That was fucking insane."
You couldn’t help but smile at the memory, but there was something about her playful tone that made your stomach flutter—a thrill blended with the underlying tension you both danced around. You leaned back, trying to hide your fluster, and sighed dramatically. “You're happy tonight. Well- more playful."
"Maybe I’m just happy to be with you," she replied, that mischievous smirk growing wider. “Or maybe you just need a little cheering up.”
Before you could even reply, she suddenly lunged at you. She managed to swiftly pin you down to the musty floor, straddling your hips. Her fingers wiggled in the air like a puppeteer ready to tug at the strings of a marionette. You tried to squirm under her, but she was suprisingly heavy.
“Ellie please, please please- no no no no-” you pleaded as she pinned your arms above your head with one hand. She looked back down at you, her using her pointer finger to trace along your jawline.
"You've always said you weren't ticklish," she teased, her auburn hair falling a little infront of her face. "But you're shit at hiding things."
You were just about to snap a reply back, but she was already going for it. The moment her fingertips made contact with your sides, you erupted in laughter, the sound reverberating off the walls. “NOHOHOHOOOAHAHAHAHA!!!” you squealed, trying to squirm away, but she was relentless. Her fingers switched between one side to the other, squeezing, spidering, poking...
"Your laugh is so cute." She teased, her fingers now drilling into your ribcage. Your laughter spiked, now trying to buck her off.
Suddenly, her fingers began to trail to your underarms.
"ELLIE- Ellie ellie pleahehehehehease..." You desperately pleaded, giving up on squirming. But Ellie just smirked. And didn't say a word. She was just thoroughly enjoying you laugh. Her fingers eventually made their way to your underarms, and without any hesitation, she began to drill her fingers into the soft skin.
Each ticklish brush sent jolts of uncontrollable laughter through you. You couldn’t help but squirm and twist, your eyes watering from laughter, yet your heart felt lighter with each fit of giggles that erupted.
"OKAY- HAHAHAHA OKAY!! ” you cried, breathless, mirth spilling from your lips uncontrollably. Ellie finally relented, pulling her hands away and collapsing back beside you, both of you breathless and grinning.
But then came silence, and the air felt thick. You turned to her, hypnotized by her profile illuminated by the dying light, the remnants of your laughter echoing faintly. “You’re, uh, really good at that,” you said, a mixture of embarrassment and admiration flooding through you.
"Yeah? I’ve had a lot of practice tickling Joel,” she replied matter-of-factly. “But you’re way more fun. You’re cute when you laugh.”
Your cheeks flushed at the unexpected compliment, and you felt an electric charge in your gut. You considered your next words carefully, the intimate moment hanging between you two heavy with unspoken emotions. “You know, it’s moments like this that make everything feel… manageable,” you finally said, your voice softer.
Ellie turned to you, her gaze piercing, filled with intensity. “Yeah. It’s nice to not think about all the horrible stuff for a change.” Her expression shifted, the playful flicker replaced with something deeper, an understanding that surged like lightning through the air.
You then got an idea. Maybe El needed some cheering up too. Before you could say anything, she was onto you.
"Don't fucking think about it." She warned.
You smirked in response. You'd get your revenge. Eventually.
