Rid the city of it’s mechanical soldiers, push all of Woolfe’s paid criminals out, and liberate the people who have lived their lives in fear for the past few years.

“Familiar enough to know a left-handed Heterodyne wrench from a right-handed Wulfenbach one,” Victor says with a little grin. “And – well, I suppose my clockwork butterflies were kind of inspired by you,” he adds, looking over at Doc.

People who create often know the work it takes to make something great.” Even those who have watched people create know that; she, for instance, knows how much time her father’s inventions took. The blood, sweat, and tears always seemed to be worth it in the end. 

“Perhaps the next time I visit Secundus, you two will have a collaborative project to show,” Red says, shifting her weight to one side. If she gets to visit, that is- she doesn’t plan for things to end badly on her end when she goes to kill Woolfe. But she isn’t dumb- she knows the possibility of her own demise is significant.

“Oh yes – as well as a year’s experience working in the shop,” Victor nods. “I guess you could call it a kind of apprenticeship. Though our specialties are quite different.”

“A checks a balance system that actually does it’s job. Now that’s a foreign concept,” Red says with a laugh. “Who would have imagined that the Mad Science Capital of the World would have more freedoms and order than anywhere else?” Certainly not those who oppose or fear the city, obviously. 

“I can see how that’d be helpful. At the very least, you’re familiar with things. Not all science is the same, but knowing one area has it’s perks when you can use it in other field. Ever thought about collaborating on a project?”

                   “LISTENER is a certain position very few ever obtain.  There has only ever been a handful compared to the various other ranks, such as what we are now – Silencers, assassins. To be Listener is, in essence, to be the Night Mother’s right hand. She may very rarely show herself to us, but they speak with her directly almost every day.” Adele explains, waiting as Puss opens the entrance to their home, the secret wall leading the troop through the sewage system, and then into their Sanctuary. 

                  “Her current Listener is also, I am told, her lover. We have not seen him in some time — he rides a black steed, and is entirely cloaked head to foot in black. His name is Lucien, and he was apart of the Brotherhood… roughly a few centuries ago, I believe. He died, viciously, and horribly by other members of the Brotherhood — an uprising. But Mother keeps his soul grounded with her magic. Their love is a sad one, I am told. It only blossomed by his death, for only then could she touch him, and only then, was it that he ever saw her. Some people go their ENTIRE LIVES without ever seeing what she looks like, you know. Or even so much as conversing with her. It is…the highest honor, to be able to converse and see her frequently. A gift one must not take for granted.”

          “I SEE.” There is a nod as she continues to listen, filing the information away; she’s sure she’ll need it later. Besides, it’s important that Red know the different aspects of her occupation. There’s no excuse for being uninformed. Giving a ‘thank you’ to Puss as she passes by him at the door, her attention quickly goes back to Adele. “It certainly sounds like one hell of a title. I feel bad for them, though. What a tragic way for that to happen- I guess not all fairy tales are what they seem, huh?” As though they aren’t all living proof of that.  

         Tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, she tilts her head. “I doubt her currently Listener would very be out of a job, then. Not that he needs to be; if he’s her LOVER, then by all means it makes sense. No one needs to step on that.”

          A SMALL LAUGH LEAVES HIS LIPS — Al’s had his fair share of running from and shooting aggressive, attacking mutant mutts when roaming the Commonwealth. Random animal encounters are common, you never know when nature’ll suddenly decide to turn on passersby and spring something up in their path. But this young woman, she’s lucky, in the Minuteman’s book. It doesn’t look to be serious infection. “Well, I don’t think I’ve ever come across someone who HASN’T had a run in with them.” He pulls out the Stimpak, uncaps it and gently makes to inject the contents into Red’s leg. “There…might take a moment or two to take effect, but that’ll start healing nicely. Did you kill them, or did they run off?”

        “PRETTY COMMON TO SEE THEM, HUH?” She wouldn’t know; she doesn’t leave her home in the forest. Her and Granny, they’ve made their own SAFE HOUSE there. And considering they’re still alive, it’s worked. “I killed most of them; I think two of them got away, but I doubt they made it far with their injuries. I don’t think the pack realized that I bite back.” She’s means that in the sense that she put up a fight, but it’s a lame attempt at a pun. Something to keep her mind busy, even though Red can feel the pain in her leg beginning to dull. Coping mechanism, she supposes.

             “That’s looks like a nasty leg wound.” Just an observation. Alcatraz is making his rounds from settlement to settlement, currently knelt by the red-clad young woman. He takes his hat off a moment, places it down beside him as calloused hands rummage through the contents of his satchel, attempting to find her something that’ll rapidly heal the injury. “I’ve got somethin’ f’that. Just you an’ your Grandma living here?” He has a sneaky suspicion it might be RAIDERS that caused this, though there’s no sign of them now. Maybe even a bunch of mutated dogs, but who knew? He had to admire the determination and bravery of living with just a sole other person, though.

           “I’ve had worse- though, this one was a result of a rookie mistake.” She may be YOUNG, but Red is well advanced beyond her years when it comes to protecting herself and her grandmother. She lets the man to search through his bag with a watchful eye, her leg extended out for his convenience. He’s KIND. There’s nothing about him that she feels poses a threat. “Yep. Just us. We manage, though; Granny’s pretty capable of taking care of herself, and she’s taught me well.” She winces as she shifts her body, leg moving just enough to shoot pain through her nerves. Forcing a bitter laugh, the red-clad girl shakes her head. “Gotta love those DOGS, huh?”

         “Well, from what Mother has said to me —” It’s not strange to call the deity such a thing, since it is her title and such: Cinderella Adele has LACKED a mother ever since hers died through natural causes, and her stepmother lost to her own blade after years of horrific torment and abuse, “Your family has quite the history with the Brotherhood. So it is only natural for you to do so well.” 

           She’s never really heard of people having BLOOD TIES to the fraction prior to now. Most people accepted into the Night Mother’s embrace are stowaways, outcasts, those abandoned by society. The blonde observes Hansel & Gretel up ahead, and Eugene, before speaking again. “I’m sure you’ll make it up our ranks swiftly. You might even become Listener. That’s a rare role, though I doubt anyone would pass LACHANCE. He’s mother’s favourite. Unless he becomes her new Keeper.”

       “Mhmm. GRANNY used to be one of the best in the Brotherhood. I didn’t even have a clue until I talked to the Night Mother. But when I confronted my grandmother about it...well. She didn’t exactly sing like a canary, but she came pretty clean.” In truth, Red is grateful for the advantage she’s had. Not everyone who comes into the Brotherhood gets TRAINING from someone who’s been here before. Her head tilts in curiosity, raising an eyebrow. “What’s a Listener?” It sounds important, no doubt about it; but being new meant that Red lacked the advantage of knowing her terminology of the ranks.

A short, loud gasp of surprise escaped the young woman as she felt herself be lifted up.. She’d been knocked to the ground after the Piper’s latest attack, and taken some damage from his rats and illusions. The world was spinning, and her axe laid just out of her reach.

It was strong arms that held her while she tried to focus just hard enough to gather who it was who’d picked up up. The realization set a panic in her stomach, however, because it was Woolfe’s face that belongs to the man carrying her.

“N-no, put--- put me down!” Her speaking was slurred, and it occurred to her for a brief moment that her weak words would not be enough. Her hands moved to hit his chest, his shoulder- anything she could reach. But Red was tired, she was unfocused- by all accounts, he had the upper hand.
