These molds are a little unorthodox, but it was to save time not having to clay-up 9 molds. Because each mold needs to be able to have a piece of PVC inserted into it before the resin is pouring in, each mold has a PVC sized opening on each end, and the mold boxes had to be made in a similar way. Since this left the piece floating in the box I was able to fill them half way up with silicone, x-acto knife out some registration keys, then pour the second half of the mold. I can't even imagine the amount of time this saved me.
