Grace probably helps Simon out with his hair from time to time; tying it back to keep it out of his face or brushing it when it gets particularly tangled and Simon can't get all the knots out with one hand and a brush. Over time, as they grow more comfortable with each other, Grace becomes so at ease with doing Simon's hair that he'll actually take his time with it, running his fingers through it and scraping his nails along the back of Simon's scalp before he draws it all up into a ponytail. For Simon, it feels nice, and the gentle touch puts him at ease. He likes it, finds it soothing.
One day, he decides that he'd like to return the favour. He finds Grace sitting on the couch, maybe working on something on his laptop, completely distracted. He doesn't even look up when Simon wanders over. Not wanting to disturb him, Simon just leans over the couch and tentatively runs his nails along Grace's scalp without much build up, trying his best to mimic exactly what Grace does to him.
That's pretty much when Simon discovers that Grace apparently has an off button.
To Simon's amazement, even that simple touch immediately turns Grace into a boneless, moaning, human puddle. Simon has barely started scratching Grace's head, but already he's looking completely blissed out, the laptop nearly falling out of his lap as he flops back against the back of the couch to give Simon more access. Startled, Simon hesitates for a second, and Grace lets out the most pitiful whine that Simon has ever heard, prompting Simon to immediately go back to scratching. Just like that, Grace slumps again, eyes slipping shut in pure delight. If he was a cat, he'd be purring.
Simon might be a little bit gleeful with this new power over Grace that he holds in his singular hand.
