To celebrate the digital release of Triangle Agency, I wanted to talk about some of the art that helped shape the core rulebook! Today I'm going to talk about the ARCs - the Anomalies, Realities and Competencies that make up the characters in Triangle Agency.

All of the Anomaly illustrations were done by @theveryworstthing, one of the most inventive character and monster designers I have ever met, and an extremely kind and hard-working person. Her fluid and expressive figures really capture a whole story in a single creature, and it was so much fun seeing the monsters she would bring us.

The Realities were a collaboration between G.C. Houle and myself, which was just a joy. I love getting to build characters and a scene with another artist, and G.C. is always wonderful to work with. I love in particular their ability to capture everyday people, which felt crucial for the agents’ Reality scenes.

@darksunradiance’s work covered all of the Competencies, and was also integral to defining how the Agency presents itself, how it makes itself felt and known, and its internal documents. I love Nate’s evocative gestures, the contorted and contradictory figures - and the use of sharp red on white in the minimalist space provided a simple and dramatic foundation on which we could build a strange and complicated world.

Holy hell, this is the first game I’ve hosted in 3 YEARS! My fire for this game has been burning steady, and impressively, so has the flame in these drawings. It’s always fun seeing what survives to the end. Um, we lost… a lot of limbs.

NEW CHALLENGE: LEARN HOW TO DRAW DRESS SHOES AND PANTS

Currently desperate to round out my repertoire of clacky leather-based heeled shoes. These are as difficult as they are rewarding to get the little shiny bits right.

Lore-wise, I’m still trying to decide if Fritz keeps smoking after he dies and gets reanimated as a lizard. Which is better: looking cool, or not having cancer? Science still doesn’t know. It has told him he should still be wearing socks, though.

i feel like it's worth mentioning, 'cuz i never advertise it on here, but

i have a twitch channel where i play games a lot

we just did Silent Hill 1-4 All Endings, alongside some other stuff like the Milk Inside A Bag Of Milk games and QT, and the VODs for the past 60 days are available for free if you feel like popping in

the SH runs are pretty fun because we figure out how to kinda casually speedrun them; they evolve into figuring out how to cut down time as much as we reasonably can while talking about lore and character development and a bunch of other stuff

the schedule right now is Mon/Tues/Thurs/Sat at 6pm PST for about 2 hours, and Wednesdays with a couple of friends (like @ryankingdomart and @sqoozh ) where we specifically play Funny Li'l Guy games, starting around 7pm-7:30pm PST. we're currently going through some of the Starfox games in a kinda chaotic and messy way and it's fun

i try to set up a fairly consistent and reliable schedule, so people can easily plan around it if they start digging it
