thinking real hard about making a mary woronov character
fun things!
ernieâs a walking talking dead zone. heâll interrupt your mobile phone signal, your radio, take down your wifi, etc
this also means he canât be called or texted on a cell. he owns a rotary phone
he enjoys sending and receiving letters! he gets more creative and personal with time
canât stream movies or tv 8(
     â honey. â roberta is balanced precariously between amusement and exhaustion (both of which read plain as day in her tone, body language) and hopes with all of her might that basil is able to read between the lines. her shift is coming to a close, so sheâs scheduled to start unwinding within the hour. but for nowâ â you know you been humminâ and singinâ the same two linesâa that ditty since you got here? â
@chromoluminous, bertie.
bornglitch.
      â huh? â truth be told, v had been focused on the tarantula crawling up their arm, and the snake resting on the crown of their head in the mockery of a halo. they blink up at merry and they look reasonably human ( purple haired, sure, and eyes like opals, but still human ). they grin. itâs all human, no inhuman sharp teeth.
     â kinda took these creatures off someone b'cause the snake wasnât shedding. â
the realization that none of this bothers him as it used to is, funnily enough, a little bothersome. merry folds his arms over his chest, slouches further into his seat, and pushes gently outward with the toe of his shoe at something small and skittery thatâs been trying to climb a leg.
     â oh, â he says, and pinches his brow. â you did it a favor? â
hivebiteâ.
     it hears that, and turns to look at him as it does. itâs eery, invokes the sort of spine-chilling sensation that one might feel if someone turned to look at you after youâd said something behind a two-way mirror with all the microphones off â thereâs no way it could have heard with these ears. the bird perched atop the truck stop flies away, as though its business here is complete. khthonios approaches, head tilted.
     â american? â
he stiffens, all capacity for rational thought and reasonable reaction sapped from him in an instant, and knows before heâs tried it that heâll have lost his ability to speak a full, smooth sentence. did it hear that, or is the timing coincidental? has it assessed him, or is he an easy read?
     â ... obvious? â
astralcraftsâ.
      â definitely. â a light, almost sincere sounding, quip. the treeâs only half decoratedâ heâd claim it was so his wolfdog didnât snatch ornaments, but wichita is better behaved than that. his returning smile is sheepish, a bit sad. â would you really? i'dâ iâd appreciate it. â
because a healthy dose of softness strikes him as something billy might need, ernie stretches to a suitable height, steadies himself on his toes, and presses a kiss to the corner of his mouth.  â of course. no charlie brown christmas for you. â

For the fluff and soft hearted, here is another lists of sentence starters that has the highest potentiality to turn into a soft scenarios. Feel free to change any pronouns / sentence structure according to your museâs preference!   TRIGGER WARNING:  N/A.
âI never noticed your eyes were this [colour].â
âYour heartbeatâs really loud.â
âYou asleep?â
âI like this, being so close to you.â
âYour hair keeps falling into your eyes, do you know that? Here, lemme justââ
âYouâre so, so, so pretty.â
âI just â Iâm breathless, okay? Whenever Iâm with you, it happens.â
âYou make my heart beat so quick.â
âYou always know how to make me smile.â
âYouâll always be safe with me.â
[Kisses the other on the cheek]
âAlways.â
âI canât imagine being anywhere but here with you.â
âAll my choices lead me to you.â
âIâll never give you up.â
âI sleep better if youâre around.â
âYou snore in your sleep. But⌠itâs adorable, okay?â
âI like this. A quiet breakfast with you.â
âThereâre billions of people on this planet, and I love you. How incredible is that?â
âI trust you.â
[Holds the otherâs hand when they think the other wonât notice]
âYou keep staring at me instead of watching the film. Whatâs up?â
âLetâs push all of these stuff away. I wanna dance here right now with you.â
âAre we really doing this? Are we really slow-dancing?â
âWhen you laugh like that, it just â youâre so beautiful, you know that?â
âNo, sorry, you laughed. I ⌠I never saw it before. Itâs â pretty.â
âYou havenât laughed in a long time, and I guess I was staring âcause I forgot how that looked like.â
[Puts head on the otherâs shoulder]
âI will never let you go.â
âYouâre the best thing to have ever happened to me.â
âYou wrote me a song?â
âYouâve got a fever. Of course Iâm not going anywhere.â
[Suddenly feels around the bed to search for the otherâs hand / body when theyâre sleeping]
[Extends a hand when they see the other was searching for it while theyâre sleeping]
âI just feel calmer. When Iâm with you.â
âYouâre not in bed. I came looking for you.â
âWhat are you doing up? Come to bed.â
âItâs weird. I never thought I could feel like this, but you showed up. Now, itâs like I donât wanna go on knowing I might lose the feeling.â
âI donât mind sharing the blankets with you.â
âYouâre cold. Come here.â
âYou always do that. You always warm me up.â
âStay.â
âItâs getting crowded. Here, hold my hand.â
[Hugs for a very long time]
[Puts feet on the otherâs lap]
âIâm so proud of you, you know that?â
âI love you.â

â @ryftsâ ; âď¸. ( for beloved roberta. )
Bertie. Bertie, look aâ me, a mhuirnĂn. ( Brighid relinquishes her pick-up tool onto the tabletop. ) I can seeâ itâs okay tâbe frustrated. ( She says, evenly, eyes as gentle as she can make them. She never remembers how much she needs to de-escalate until someone in her inner circle isâŚ.escalating. )Â
I know tissue paper and Mod Podgeâ itâsâ itâs hard. I know. You have tâwork very fast, and. Itâs sticky. ( Brighid looks at the thin strips of green and grey, ripped up and stuck to the table, then at her own barely-begun luminary in front of her. Flat-backed glass marbles form two uniform rings underneath the jarâs lip, one red, one clear. )Â
Would you like toâ ( She smooths a single marble between her shredded thumb and pointer finger and smiles her kindest, gentlest smileâ one last attempt to nip the rising tensions in the bud. ) I think we should switch jars. I can help you, with the quick-dry.
bertie doesnât raise her voice â it isnât her wont to begin with, but the perpetually brighid-focused portion of her brain knows better than to break pattern and back her into a corner. her temper, which has cooled from hot to below tepid since they met, only bears itself by way of a playful-angry noise. half grunt, half whine, and accompanied by a pair of mod-podged, gift-wrapped, and airborne hands.
     â i was workinâ fast, wudnât i? â she points at brighidâs area. the paper (amongst other supplies into which roberta has leaned) hanging off of her from her fingers to her elbows lends more comedic effect to the gesture than intended. â i am not touchinâ that, baby. i wonât ruin a perfect thing if i can help it. â
she lifts her eyebrows, lowers her cheek unwisely into a sticky palm, and adds, a little distantly, â maybe i oughtnât touch you, either, comeâda think of it. â a childish grumble: â perfect, you are, and i got the audacity to touch you all the time like i know what iâm doinâ. â
     â you find tinsel distracting, billy? â ernie picks at one of the branches of his christmas tree, turns the artificial pine between his fingers, and offers a sweet, small smile to express his understanding. he couldnât, wouldnât, wonât judge for the abandoned effort. â i can help you make it lessâ sad, if you want. â
@astralcrafts!
guardstime.
     â not a day over 25, my dear, â asa is quick to grin, pearly whites and amusement. she studies merry after sheâs had her grins and quiet laugh. while she can see peopleâs age reflected above and around them, whatever v had done to take him away from the mortal coil was muddying her efforts. her smile is sad. â iâm afraid i canât tell you that. vâs messed with that part of being able to tell. iâm sorry, merry. â
he waves her off, his smile polite but twisted on one side with a little embarrassment, a little melancholy. itâs the answer heâd wished against and anticipated in equal measure. iâm sorry, merry. well, who isnât when they know his story?
     â on second thought, â he lies for her benefit. â i might sleep easier if i donât know. â

@ryfts ; đž.
âThe doodle-lookinâ dog is back. ( Brighid is practically vibrating with excitement. ) I was on my way overâ over from work and he justâ he just jumps out from a snowdrift anâ barrels into me with all heâs got!! To tell me hello!! ( She enthuses, beaming. Itâs a wonder she hasnât dragged her long-suffering best friend Melo into helping her steal him already, but the playful glint in her eye seems to suggest she might wheedle this polished young gentleman into her scheme instead.
Her tone sobers. ) I do worry about him, though. He always looks so lost andâ and alone. No collar or anytâing. And-and-and itâs gettinâ so cold out. ( She shakes her head. ) Ought tâjust. Take him home sometime. ( She casts a sidelong look out of the window as though the dog in question were waiting there. )Â
Talkinâ of which. Sure yâdonât need a lift home? ( One last glance, just in case. Nope. ) Supposed tâsnow.Â
as unsubtle as she is â and a dominant part of merrill figures heâs meant to see right through â he finds himself terribly endeared by the effort. he folds his paper, saving an article on the prohibition for when heâs cozy at home with a snifter of legal-but-is-it? hooch, and fixes her with a smile as kind and understanding as his rubber (and theatrically-trained) face will allow.
     â i didnât factor the snow, â he says, because he hadnât heard thereâd be any. he wrinkles around the eyes. â i might take you up on it, after all. i liveâ âÂ
merry starts to point in the direction of his house, then remembers where sheâs been throwing glances, and turns his finger with a twirl toward the dog. â thatâa way. â
they wonât take  â go to hell â  for an answer.   what are you going to do?   iâm gonna give them directions.    /    horror original characters.
     â oh, this must be the longest of shots. â it sounds pretty flat and uninterested, as far as lead-ins go. heâs expecting to be disappointed. â you got any idea how old i am? you know, not byâ you know, appearance. âcause the answer to that is ânot a day over 25.â â he aims and flashes a grin at asa. â in earth years. i donât know when we are, see? â
@guardstime, merry.
     â your quiet is givinâ me the shakes, here, vee. â heâs managed to keep his hands busy to distract from his sincerity, though not his mouth, which twitches as if struggling to hold shut around a secret.Â
whatâs more in the way of betraying his not-quite-snuffed humanity, merry has been hissing curses as heâs pricked and snipped and stapled himself instead of the pinstriped suit heâs attempting to patch.
     â what atrocities have you committed today? â
@bornglitch, merry.
roberta has been trapped in the thin veil since 2011. sheâs more or less accustomed to the ways of liminal spaces.
ernesto has only been here since early 2018.
merrill has been stuck since the late 1920s. lucky him! heâll always have the most answers. heâs also the most resigned to what has become of his âlife.â
