dasom:
sheâs always known that this was the path laid out for her, but she never imagined it like this. sheâs no stranger to the fact that she was to be the next queen consort for hui qing; sheâs been reminded countless times of their betrothal, so even if she wanted to forget, she knew she couldnât. youâd think that as she grew up, sheâd want more control of who her love life involved, but luckily for her father she ended up falling head over heels for the crown princeâ there was no one else that she wanted to notice her romantically other than him.
but that⌠never actually happened. and if it did, no one had noticed it. sheâs only ever made subtle attempts at hinting something more than friendship over the years, but eventually stopped over the thought of how desperate she mightâve seemed. he was always too busy, almost unapproachable for her, so any form of romantic connection failed to form.
it was the reason she was even here, waiting outside his doorstep for the past twenty minutes. his mother was worried since heâd been failing to answer his calls, so she conjured up this great plan to send his fiancĂŠe over in hopes of both checking up on him and for the two of them to forcibly bondâ why not kill two birds with one stone, right? the only thing she wasnât expecting was to be waiting for him to return home; it was a mistake on her part. luckily as she was about to call, he arrived just in the nick of time.
she gives her fiancĂŠ a sweet smile, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear out of habit whenever he was near. you would think after all these years she would be a little less obvious about her crush on him. ( sometimes it was crazy to think she was even marrying the guy. ) â ah, your mother was worried about you, oppa. you werenât answering your calls? â she stepped into his penthouse before him, looking around before turning back to him. â she thought, um, that we could bond too⌠but if this is a bad time, i can come back another day? i shouldâve called⌠â
it wasnât as though hui qing disliked dasom. she was an enjoyable young woman who was smart and one of the most beautiful women he's laid eyes on. he was more than content with their engagement and felt no need to work against their parents' wishes. yet, he never really spare more thoughts about it, he was too preoccupied with his career and his path as the future king. him being married wouldn't come to center stage until he was older, and now, as he watched the woman before him, tuck her hair behind her ear, it seemed his marriage would be coming much sooner than he expected.Â
a soft grin appeared on hui qingâs face, his hand placed on the womanâs arm as he gestured for dasom to make herself at home. " oh is that so?" he questioned, as he slipped his shoes off, and took off his jacket and placed it inside his closet. " dasom-ah, take off your coat, i'll put it away for now." the prince directed, before giving off a rather sheepish laugh. " my phone had run out of battery, and i left my charger at home, i'll be sure to give her a text to ensure her i'm safe."  he explains, before humming as he began to walk further into his penthouse. " it's not a problem dasom-ah." reassuring the younger, as he made his way to the kitchen. " i would have just liked to take you to a restaurant, but never mind that, we can always have dinner here."Â
" i'll make some pasta of some sorts. " hui qing suggested, as he began to look through his rather bare fridge, a small frown appearing on his face as he noticed the lack of ingredients in the application.  " is a tomato and garlic pasta suitable for tonight ?" the doctor questions, as he began to pull out the ingredients from the fridge, even without hearing dasom's answers. " i have some red wine as well, would you like some too ?" maybe he was a bit nervous himself as well, which was evident in the way he was unable to keep still.
a habit of his from youth. when he felt slightly out of focused, hui qing couldn't help but move around and become rather shaky. " how are you by the way? i haven't had the pleasure of seeing you since i left for greece, and while my mother spoke of you every once in awhile, it's not the same dasom=ah. " his lips turn downwards for a moment as he begins to prepare the ingredients. Â " you didn't even video chat me when i was away dasom, i was actually quite hurt, i thought you had forgotten me." hui qing teases with a small laugh.
