“Well, that can’t be true. You obviously made whatever decision brought you here - boarded that flight, or whatever.” Ry grinned. “You have a few options. Brewed Interest is closest, but is a bit weak, for my tastes - in coffee, anyway. The bakery does a good brew, but it takes longer.”

"Well," he said, grinning, "It was nice to meet you, Trinity. I'm sure we'll run into each other again. I'll try not to make off with your coffee again."

She wasn’t paying enough attention to know what he was saying, but through the corner of her eye she could see that his lips were moving. Leo wrapped the towel around her finger and mouthed ‘thank you’, unsure if he had actually seen. As he looked around the kitchen, Leo frowned, not quite sure what he was doing. Looking for… what? "Hey,” she murmured, unsatisfied about having to do so to get his attention back. She gave him a confused look, hoping that was enough for him to understand, because her notepad was nowhere around.
He hadn't seen her thanks, but he didn't worry too much about it; not only was he sure that Leo would say it, or at least feel it, he didn't care too much. He just wanted to help however he could. He glanced back at her sharply at the sound of her soft voice, and he smiled. "Do you have a first aid kit?" he asked.

“Well, thank you,” she smiled as she took the cup and took a sip. The familiar taste of caramel kept the smile on her face and she said “And you are?”
Almost like she'd summoned it, just as she asked, his own coffee arrived, and he spun it around to show her the simple, Ry etched on it. "Ryan, really," he amended. "And you are..." he craned his neck to look at the cup she held. "Trinity?"
She didn’t know why was carving a pumpkin so hard considering she had sculpted in clay and marble, but there she was, struggling to make the wicked smile of the lantern. Not that she had much party spirit, but everyone would decorate for Halloween, and she thought her place would look a little depressing near the others. She convinced herself it was for the kids, to keep the fantasy, but just maybe she liked it too. Leo pushed the knife into the pumpkin and when she pulled, she felt it tearing her flesh apart. “Ouch,” she yelped when the knife cut her finger, pulling it quickly.
"Ah, damn," Ry said, grabbing a tea towel as he approached her, setting the knife aside. "You're a brave one, going straight in with the knife," he noted as he offered her the towel for her finger, already going through drawers and cabinents to try to find the first aid kit.
“Oh, you’re fine,” she said with a smile as she got up and reached for her drink. “No big deal. Sorry for snapping at you. Caffeine is just essential for my mornings.”
He laughed. "No, yeah, I get it," Ry said, still smiling. "I'm the same way -" he motioned lazily towards his head. "My brain doesn't work very well before my first cup." He held the drink out to her. "Here."

Trinity yawned as she stood in line to order her coffee. It was her day off but she wanted to spend it being at least semi-productive so she had brought her laptop to get a bit of work done before going back home. Sleepily, she ordered her coffee and went to go find a place to sit. Once she was settled and her laptop was open, she became distracted and didn’t look up until someone was standing in front of her and holding her iced coffee. “Um.. Is that.. Mine?….”
"Great, thanks," Ry said, half to his business partner and half to the barista as she sat down his drink - only - he whirled back around at the sound of the voice, frowning down at the drink in his free hand. The other one held his phone, and he slowly slid it into his pocket as he looked more closely at the drink, moving his hand to reveal whatever had been written on the side. "God, yeah, it might be," Ry said, setting it back down. "I'm sorry about that."
