Man, its been awhile. I’ve been a bit of a mood the last couple weeks, and I couldn’t get myself to sit down and do any writing. On the plus side, I did get a bit accomplished out in the real world. I usually use Friday’s as my day to run errands, and today was a beautiful day to do so on the bike. The temperature was a perfect 79-81 degrees, and the colors of nature were popping everywhere I rode.From the green to the blue, to the white, is was the reason I have spent more time on two wheels then four…even when four was an option.

Of course, riding in such wonderful weather brought back some memories. My ex was crazy about being on the back of the bike. Any chance that arose, she was up for it. We rode through thunderstorms, hail, standing water, straight-line winds, and frost-tinged mornings. Not once did I ever hear her complain. It was one of the qualities I remember fondly, is that she loved to ride as much as I did.

Something else I realized as I rode, is that those memories were not causing me pain. I was just enjoying the rumble of the road, and reminiscing about old times. I am not sure if I turned a corner in my journey or not, but it was nice to be out and about, enjoying two wheels in the sunshine, without having to ride through that same dark cloud that has plagued me for over a year.

Zombie apocalypses are curiously lacking a large array of common equipment that could neatly control the situation.

“But we can’t build walls to contain them!”

Moves by truck, train or boat. Ridiculously common. And see those holes on the bottom? Mobile by forklift. Also, HEAVY, even when empty they’re in the tons. If you had some warning you could string these things end to end for miles and human bodies can’t move them. Plus they’re nice and wide so you can comfortably walk on top of them for patrols.

“But we don’t have easy ways to kill them!”

Put the shotgun down you fucking idiot.

No tires to pop. Heavy and slow but inevitable. Climbing required to enter and thus, relatively zombie proof, especially if you spend like an hour to protect the glass.

A lot of large farming equipment can destroy cars.

Want to guess what it’d do to a decaying human body? It’s not pretty.

Now I know what you’re thinking. Merely flattening them with common construction equipment or farming gear isn’t enough.

How about a tree trimmer that can mulch a tree top to bottom in nothing flat?

BEEP BEEP MOTHERFUCKER. Deer don’t have a chance and neither does a zombie.

NOW it’s time to call our friend the military because this ride stops for no one.

Do I need to keep going or is it clear the movies are bullshit yet? Seriously a dozen prepared people with heavy equipment licenses could clear an entire street of zombies AND powerwash it after.

I was asked today why is it that I cannot just be happy while single. Why do I need to be dating someone? You went through war, three tours. You've faced combat. You killed. You've been through a worse hell than being single. But that hell is why I am like this now. Some people turn to alcohol when they come back. Some smoke, others, drugs or thrill seeking. I just need someone there. And that has turned out to be a harder thing to find than legal or illegal substance known to man. Every girl I have met since moving down here... It seems they lie and they cheat. I am sure some of the fault for failed relationships falls on me. But this is killing me slowly. All I need is just one.
