I wish we got to see a much more darker hinanami dynamic than what we got in canon, there's material to be explored there. hajime completely obsessing over chiaki's character, putting her on an unattainable pedestal, idolizing her simply for being talented and caring. and have all of that fall apart eventually after chiaki catches on to what he's doing and slowly detach herself from him. this is not meant to be romanticization by the way!! I feel like not everything has to have an au written or drawn about it, I've seen countless art about obsession, and while I get how fun it is to create different paths for a movie or show that you like, this just feels straight up.. deaf toned..? or insensitive? nikki not only lost her complete autonomy, but she was objectified by bear, taken advantage of by bear, his own friend Ian even tells him how wrong their relationship feels, how it makes bear look, we're given multiple scenes with him seeing how unstable nikki is due to the one wish willow and him brushing it off every time just so he would continue using her. that to me doesn't feel like good au material, nikki being a woman IS prevalent and important to the story that a bunch of aus just blissfully erase to include two men, or their favorite ship?? I don't know man. it's just really weird.?? nikki is a victim of rape and sexual assault perpetuated by bear, she did not consent to "loving" him and she certainly did not consent to anything else that went down in that relationship.
