On December 17, Ryu Jun Yeol uploaded a picture from his photo shoot with magazine First Look. In the picture, he is dressed in a classy black coat and stares broodingly into the camera.

Hyeri commented jokingly on the photo, “Who is this?”

And then Junyeol replied her with “Waenyeol--It’s Junyeol”

In revenge, Ryu Jun Yeol wrote the same comment on one of Hyeri’s Instagram photos, where she is dressed up as Audrey Hepburn. On another photo of Hyeri sitting in casual clothes and pouting, Ryu Jun Yeol commented, “Ah~ Duk Sun~,” referring to her character on “Reply 1988.”

Junyeol : I’m curious on how she will react.

Actor Ryu Jun Yeol sat down for press interviews on May 17 for the release of his upcoming film “Believer.”

On comments from Hyeri regarding his film, he carefully responded, “Hyeri hasn’t seen ‘Believer’ yet, but I am curious on how she will react.”

When asked about her reaction to his previous film “Little Forest,” he drew laughter as he shyly replied, “I’m not sure. I’ll have to call her and ask if she’s seen it.”

Reply, Ryu Junyeol!

The day after Reply 1988 broadcasted their last episode, Ryu Junyeol came back with a live broadcast on his personal account via v-live app.

This live was meant for all of his fans and eonamryu supporter to get to know him and Kim Junghwan more and deeper, as well as a medicine for our heartaches the night before.

He said it was the first time he did a live broadcast and also said he once watched Hyeri did her v-live and he thought he’d done it at the Ramyun shop near Han river like her, so he was surprised to see the staff prepared everything for him indoor, he said he’d do his best on his live.

First, the staff asked him to ranked all of his best scenes based on three categories ; love, friendship, and family in a graph.

The first scene was alley scene from ep. 3, at first he didn’t what does it mean by ‘alley scene’ but when he knew it, Junyeol said “Junghwan didn’t have a kiss scene with Deoksun but he got this scene and the bed scene.” indirectly stating that this alley scene was his romantic kissing scene with Deoksun.

He also revealed that he really liked this scene and that it was taken on a cold night and they put many hot packs on top of their feet (It was supposed to be a summer night in the drama but they took the scene in winter). The alley wasn’t really that thin when they first entered it, there are a lot of spaces between Junyeol and Hyeri but the producer and director asked them to be closer and even pushing the wall (it was a fake wall) to get them really close with each other. Junyeol felt really close with Hyeri and was really shy when it happened, he also said at this point Junghwan’s feeling for her intensified more.

Next, the bus scene on the 4th episode.

(my favorite! T_T) Junyeol put this scene’s rank higher than the last one, he said when he recorded this with hyeri the weather was really hot he felt like he’s in a sauna and sweat a lot. He emphasized that the veiny arms was his and felt sad when some people didn’t believe it.

The next scene was their ‘Come home early’ scene where Hyeri revealed about his affectionate toward her on her interview :

“We filmed the scene where Deoksun was caught in the rain on her way back from the library and Junghwan gave his umbrella and told her to come back earlier first before the wall+bed scene. My clothes were wet and cold from the rain in the previous scene and we filmed the wall scene while I was shivering. It was so cold that I had no other thoughts at all then. Ryu Junyeol oppa was really considerate and used his hands to stroke and warm my arms because it was cold.”

Junyeol said the relationship between Junghwan and Deoksun was getting deeper in this scene and even though it was a short scene, they took it for almost 3 hours under the cold night.

The next scene was Taek’s confession on ep. 10 where Junghwan was really distraught and torn between his feeling for Deoksun and Taek. Junyeol said he wanted to skip that scene (hahaha!).

The last one was his confession scene to Deoksun. He ranked this scene higher than any scene!

As we can see, he looks really sad after writing for the graph. He and Hyeri often talked about the progress of their characters’s love life, even wondering who’s actually Deoksun’s husband before Hyeri knew who. The two wondered if their kiss scene will happened in the 4th episode (the two of them were eonamryu supporter as well since the very beginning, Hyeri really liked Junghwan even from the first time she got the script), when it didn’t happen they wondered if the kissing scene happened in the next episode and so on.

Junyeol said it was the hardest scene for all of the Reply 1988 crew including the stars on the table. Donghwi and Kyungpyo were also nervous when they took that scene, Hyeri cried a lot because he felt sad for Junghwan to let Deoksun go and she’s also sad she wouldn’t have anymore interaction with the said character (Imagine rooting for Junghwan even way before us and then had to let him go without communicating their characters’s love for each other 5 years ago). Everyone were really tensed and said, Junyeol also felt really exhausted, he didn’t go home for a week to film the said episode.

After that he moved on to Friendship and Family’s scenes, stating he love every scene he took with his family.

When they asked if he’d do the same with Junghwan in real life (letting go of a girl for the sake of friendship) he told us no, he wouldn’t give up and will keep pursue her and choose love over friendship. “Friendship is about understanding” he continued. Then he laughed and said, “Did i still into my character?” he also continue playfully with, “Deoksun-ah, did you hear this? Can you see this? I hope you saw that.”

Junyeol also gave his advice for Junghwan and Deoksun’s love story, he said that Junghwan should’ve confessed to Deoksun at the 3rd episode when they were trapped inside the alley together.

The next segment was a fanart segment for Kim Junghwan, Junyeol showed his affection toward them and praised all of them with wide smiles.

After that he talked about his and Deoksun’s love scenes again, including the “Hajima sogaeting”, and his favorite stair scene “Think about why i came.”. He really like that scene because Junghwan had said what he felt for Deoksun but the girl was too stupid to realized his feeling (Junyeol said that).

He also said what he felt about the confessing scene in ep 18 and that he thought a lot about it when they said he’s not Deoksun’s husband. He was sad when it happened especially when he’s not the love candidate anymore, his scenes are getting more and more shorter in ep 19 and 20, it seems like he was the cameo of the drama to me.

The last segment was his instagram posts. The most hilarious one was the picture of him and the director, Junyeol said he didn’t ask for his permission to post that one and jokingly said “Maybe that’s why i’m not Deoksun’s husband.”.

After that he even called his best friend : Byun Yohan!

He was very happy when they talked and Yohan said Junyeol’s pretty busy these days so they couldn’t meet each other. At the end of the call the two males shared their love to each other and Junyeol giggled when Yohan was too shy to say “I love you too.” (LMAO).

At the end of the v-app (It’s about 2 hours long), he said he’s really touched and actually cried when the eonamryu supporters flooding his stair post with “saranghaneun Junghwana” (lol i cried too) and he said he’s really thankful of us, that we kept staying by his side even when he didn’t get the female lead etc (we are very thankful too!). He said he’s sad that all the medias talking about was the husband hunt and not the family and friendship content (don’t blame me, blame yourself Junyeol, your character is too lovely) and even said the director was really mad.

At last, he said he hoped all of the fans liked his live and he thanked everyone who watched it until the end. He bowed 90 degrees to us and the live ended :)

Right after he finished his v-live, Junyeol went to the after party of Reply 1988 together with the rest of the crew and casts. Hyeri was spotted at the party too.

Filming for EP 20

The last scene they took together for Reply 1988 was SunBora’s wedding. The actors and actresses cries together, both because they watched Bora couldn’t hold her tears at the altar (she even fell into the ground and her mom had to calmed her before they continued filming) and because it’s their last scenes together.

Junghwan and Deoksun were barely interacting but it’s different for Junyeol and Hyeri.

Junyeol couldn’t took his eyes off of crying mess Hyeri, Deoksun were supposed to cry in the drama too but Hyeri is much worser than her. She couldn’t stopped her tears (awwie poor baby), and makes Junyeol really worried of her.

He even teased her and she laughed a little in the middle of crying (but we didn’t know what he told her because there’s no sound) = Junyeol’s way of showing his care for Hyeri.

At the end they took group pictures and we can see Junyeol checking up on hyeri again before posing on camera (YES, 911? THESE TWO IS SO IN LOVE HELP? i hope the camera took him looking at Hyeri instead lmao).

They also took group selfies with the actors and seems like Junyeol couldn’t keep his hand to himself that day (probably because he wanted to cheer Hyeri up, again it’s Junyeol’s way)

Before getting married, Bora (Hyeyoung) was sitting behind the hall, Junyeol and Miran approached her and jokingly make their own scene about Bora marrying Junghwan (lol) and asked him to keep him away from his comics (it was really hilarious please watch the behind the scene!).

Filming for EP 18

As we all know, Ep 18 of Reply 1988 is the most roller-coaster ride episode for all of us (eonamryu team). Even Junyeol and Hyeri both were really sad at the end of this episode’s filming because of Junghwan heartfelt farewell scene.

After celebrating Taek’s birthday party, the gang were drinking together and it is officially reported that they took a picture to memorized the get-together scene. Hyeri even posted the picture as her saying goodbye to the ssangmundong gang. Junyeol and Hyeri were seen being lovey-dovey, heads leaning on to each other’s.

Before confessing, Junghwan realized that hesitation never end well and he realized that he need to let his first love go after watching Taek and Deoksun meeting in front of the concert hall, and that he was one step too late. This scene including Junyeol driving Junghwan’s jeep charmingly and fighting with traffic lamps.

After that there’s the scene where Junghwan and Deoksun shared a car before they arrived at the bar. The scene is pretty cute and a little bit domestic in my opinion, with Deoksun asking Junghwan to be more gentle and he surrendered saying ‘okay i will’ and Deoksun smiled contentedly.

After arriving at the bar, Junghwan confessed to Deoksun and said his goodbye. It was an emotional scene for both Junyeol and Deoksun.

Junyeol revealed, “When we filmed [the confession] scene Hyeri cried so much. While she was preparing to act as Duksun, she also personally felt like she was saying goodbye to Junghwan. She probably felt like she wouldn’t be able to interact with Junghwan in the future, and she cried a lot because of it. She cried to the point where we weren’t able to continue filming.” at his special Reply 1988 v-app.

Hyeri said that she felt sad about Junghwan, who consistently loving Deoksun, had to said goodbye to Deoksun while confessing for the first time that’s why her tears came out when they were filming.

She posted a picture of her and Junyeol linking arms before filming for this episode.

Hyeri : Junghwan is the closest

27th January 2016, viu Hong Kong held an interview for Girl’s Day members, the first one who was interviewed is Hyeri.

She was asked about her role in Reply 1988, she said at first she didn’t know that Deoksun is similar to Hyeri and even tell the interviewer about it’s hard at first.

At 1:35, the interviewer asked who’s her ideal type from Reply 1988′s male actor.

At first she seemed a bit flustered answering and even asking for help to her members.

Hyeri : I..... (laughed) A..All Minah : All? All of them? Hyeri : All of them are good, but Junghwan is the closest (to her ideal type)

At that time, she was referring ‘Junyeol’ as ‘Junghwan’ because they adressed each other with their character names on set and i think she still has the habit of calling his name with Junghwan (or she slipped because too nervous? who knows!).

Phuket : January 21st and Early 22nd

Junyeol and Hyeri were seen on the street with their co-stars,

I think this picture was taken after their reply 1988 party, Junyeol and Choi Sungwon is still wearing the 88 crew shirt and Hyeri’s outfit is still the same.

after having a good night sleep, the next morning they woke up and have a swimming party. After this day they went separate ways, Junyeol to Africa meanwhile Hyeri to HongKong.

When Hyeri was informed that the F4 (she already screamed when the woman mentioned Junyeol’s name only lmao) was taken by Na-Pd to Africa, she was jumping and running in circle, laughing out loud. Even said “But, the oppas like these things very much”

Incheon airport : SEOUL -> PHUKET

Ryu Junyeol and Lee Hyeri went to Phuket, alongside their Reply 1988 team and co-stars after finishing their successful drama. They enjoyed their holiday in the said city for couple of days.

At the 20th January 2016, they were seen arriving in Incheon airport ready to board to Phuket. (video)

The two were seen sitting beside each other when they were waiting for the plane to boarded. The casts were seen conversing with each other and eating snacks, they even teased Bogum because he got the most fans and people recognized him easily.

Hyeri and Junyeol were inseparable after that, they walked side by side when it’s time to board, showing off their closeness by conversing animatedly with each other.

They even shamelessly side-hugging and self-recorded their own cute moments with the secret camera from ‘youth over flowers’.

+ Hyeri was seen feeding both Bogum and Junyeol, (this one is so cute ugh)

and they were seen sitting beside each other inside the plane from one of the cast who played little Jinjoo

it seems like Kyungpyo sat at Junyeol’s seat for awhile before they finally settled down like this ^

Hyeri : Girl’s Day’s members screaming at the ‘don’t go to the blind date’ scene.

Hyeri was interviewed by chosun and she mentioned Junghwan and Junyeol’s name multiple times. She even said that Junyeol is different from the brusque Junghwan when the interviewer asked her about him.

“The real Junyeol oppa is really affectionate and his personaility is totally opposite of Junghwan. He listens well to others objectively. He's definitely not a brusque person.” she said. Chosun put this one answer under #AffectionateRyuJunyeol hashtag.

The next hashtag is #Hyeri's Style = Junghwan.

Hyeri said, “My ideal type is someone who's half like Taek (PBG) and the other half like Junghwan (RJY). I've always liked someone who grumbles often.  The director had asked me back when I first received the script without knowing who has been casted for the roles yet, "Who do you like the most?" I replied while giving a thumbs up, "Junghwan is not a joke." and i replied that Junghwan is my style. Hearing that, the director asked me, "Why? What about Taek? And Sunwoo?"”

“I think I really like it when someone takes care of me without me realizing that "Ah, he has always been looking after me". In fact, when I was so sure that the other party was taking care of me, my members ended saying it was not. I'm like a guy with a rough personality (giving herself up), a bad kid in all. I like bad guys. Someone who works hard at what he does, someone who fights hard when working. In one sentence, I really can't conclude a definition easily.” She continued.

Hyeri and Ryu Jun Yeol confirmed to be dating by agencies, “healing” each other

Hyeri of Girl’s Day and actor Ryu Jun Yeol are dating, as confirmed by C-JeS Entertainment and DreamT Entertainment.

On August 16, Ryu Jun Yeol’s agency C-JeS Entertainment confirmed the reports that the actor is dating Girl’s Day’s Hyeri and stated, “Ryu Jun Yeol and Hyeri recently progressed from being friends to a couple, and they are still in the early stages of their relationship. We apologize to the fans for these surprise dating reports.” They continued to add, “We ask that people watch over them warmly as their relationship is still in the early stages. Thank you.” DreamT Entertainment also confirmed the news and said, “We checked with Hyeri, and we can confirm that Hyeri and Ryu Jun Yeol are currently dating, progressing from being friends to being in a relationship. 11th November 2017, Choi minsik teased Ryu Junyeol at their watch-together ‘Blackened heart’ movie in CGV.

Minsik was saying something and said “a friend, Hyeri-ssi, has come here. Hyeri, please come down here”. Junyeol was really flustered by his words and he searched for her up there, the audience were murmuring. When it seems like he couldn’t find her, he looked back at Minsik like he’s going to asked him. and then Minsik ended that by saying “It was a joke” and everyone were laughing together, including Junyeol.
