[she trots into Dees lab, the broken door uneasing her a bit but she shakes it off. she lets go of his arm, going over to his desk and starts scanning for a correctly sized panel. once she finds one she jogs over to her area where her glitters and paints are, picking up some white, pink, and purple paint. she grabs some pink glitter with her tail and trots back over to Dons work desk, placing them down. she moves a chair over, motioning for Shelldon to sit down as she grabs the desired panel and some other needed peice]

[Shelldon follows her in curiously, sitting down in the chair. He leans forward while she grabs her things, watching and tapping his feet against the floor.]

You gotta be careful with the glitter, though. If it gets into the systems it’ll mess everything up and then Dee will be upset.

[she perks up, giving him a reassuring smile, sensing his unease]

oh don't worry! i usually mix it with paint so it doesn't get everywhere, speaking of...

[she takes the cap off the pink and purple paints, pouring paint into the caps and adding the glitter. once shes done she sets them aside, reaching for the panel and walking over to Shelldon. she puts it in place and opens the top of her left pointer finger, placing in a nail and screwing it into place. she repeats this until its secure before going to grab the prepared paints]

anything you want in particular?

[He’s watching with fascination.]

Oh- Uh, could you put something video game related? But anything you want is chill.

[Nova nods, smiling as she comes up with an idea. she picks up her brush, humming a little tune while she gets to work.

after a little while she steps back, admiring her work. its pixelated hearts colored with pink and purple sparkly paint, accompanied by a bright splatter looking background. she squeals with excitement, hopping up and down.]

[As soon as it’s finished, Shelldon takes his arm back to look at it, eyes glowing.]

[Oh, he didn’t realise how badly he wanted this until he sees it now. He feels a desperate need to grin, to fly around and share this with everyone.]

[As it is, he practically jumps out of the seat to hug Nova, then jumps away to look at the arm again.]

Briefly he contemplates making this his new charging area, but the thing that makes this room such a reliable place to retreat to is the fact that nobody even comes past here. That doesn’t really help the problem of the lab being suckish in the social factor.]

well...the part where i said i wasn't going to fight him. then i cant get past that. it just kinda goes dark..

[shes looking down, seemingly trying to pull more from her memories, but no luck.]

Oh, yeah, your memories are probably all definitely corrupted and such. I remember you leaving, and then I couldn’t find you for a bit, and when I did it was on the surface-

[He leans back, hands on the bed as he hesitates on what to say.] Uhhh… I didn’t see, like, how? But you got infected. That’s where all the corrupted system stuff’s happening, it was probably that.

And then I got Dee, and he got you back. He didn’t- [he hesitates again] I don’t think- He didn’t shut you down there in the lab. Or me. We’re good.

[He blinks, looking at the shoulder where the scrap had torn into him and down where the shield had broken off. This one, at least, he's prepared a lie for.]

Oh, I've been going on the surface. Clearing my- head. System. Whatever. Not as friendly up there. Dee hasn't had the time to, uh, make new panels yet. It's why I'm also stuck like this for a while. The battle form, I mean.

[she shifts, sensing some untruthfulness in his words, but lets it go. she hopes she didn't actually hurt him...but he wouldn't lie to her about something this serious right? she wanted to focus on fixing whatever damage happened, regardless if it was caused by her or not. suddenly an idea came to mind]

im sure i could help make the panels! i have some programming to help temporarily replace my own panels so maybe i could do the same for you!

[Shelldon starts to speak, then stops, rethinking. For a minute he taps his fingers on his ankles, considering whether he’d risk another argument with Don over his arm, whether making this decision would be worth it, but then he thinks about having Yarrow’s circuitry and Nova’s panelling amongst Don’s work and feels that connection he’d felt back in the medbay when he was sitting on the edge of the cot like a person.]

…You think so? That’d be cool. I think, uh, we could find the scrap in Dee’s lab, maybe…

[A smile immediately spreads across her face, and happiness and excitement overtake the negative thoughts. she grabs his arm, getting up excitedly without thinking]

oh my stars really!? you would let me do that?? oh! oh! I could paint it and make it sparkly!! oh uh- if you want of course!

[her tail wags excitedly, her pupils turning into sparkles. she keeps herself from jumping up and down]

[He gets up with her, height difference being way more apparent now that he has to stand all the time, but he’s not complaining. He’s glad he can distract her from her earlier thoughts, at least.]
