My Mundane Life

Some part of me has decided that there is enough time in my day to fill up with a blog. I mean, I can always find sleep some other time, right? No. So why did I decide to make this blog? Well you see, this started off as a bet with a couple of friends of mine. But as the days grew into weeks, weeks turned into months and the bet came to an end, I found myself still wanting to blog. So here I am. This is a blog about my mundane life and I'm sharing it with you. Welcome :]

This is what it feels like when I'm on acid. Just kidding, I've never been on acid. I don't have the ball to do it. I don't have balls in general. Its biologically impossible.

I’m ranked second nationally! I competed in the Gloria Jean’s/ Its A Grind National Barista Competition last week in Califorina and won second place. I served lattes, espresso shots and my very own signature drink to people like Martin Diedrich and Mike Lanz. I used a La Marzocco espresso machine. I had so much fun! I’ll be heading to Seattle in the next week or two to get a coffee touring and my own personal latte trainer. I’m so PUMPED! This is me with the two other baristas I competed against. I’m on the left, Chris in the middle (who won the trip to India) and Hajar on the right. They were an awesome group of people to spend three days with.

I won!

I did it! I won at the Gloria Jean's/Its A Grind Regional Competition! I'll be flying out to California on the 25th to compete there. I'M SO FRICKIN' EXCITED! 

I had a practice this morning with my boss. I was freaking out a bit. I now have to make twice as many drink (4 lattes, 4 shots of espresso and 4 signature drinks) in the same amount of time (15 minutes). I barely finished on time the first time but after today's practice  I feel a lot better! I made all 12 without any talking in 10:43 minutes. BAM!

Next step: win the big money at Nationals and go all the way to India to compete there! :D
