Using a tarot reading to guide spellwork. I wanted to focus on my return to work from maternity leave today, so I did a tarot spread from @goldenthreadtarot / Labyrinthos as a career status check. 👸🏼Drawing the Empress really helped me hone in on the fact that going back to work does not take me away from my family but rather puts me in an incredibly important position of providing for my family. This is what I’m doing when I would sometimes rather just be reading or writing or literally anything else. It’s hard to look at that face and imagine wanting to be away from her sometimes, but it’s hard to reclaim my identity with a newborn, and I have to let myself feel that. My spiritual practice has been limited to focusing on my breathing when I’m trying to get her to sleep, and I have to just be ok with that for now. It’s the first day of October and the sunflower my son planted this summer just bloomed today. that’s fall in Georgia for you. And he’s going to be a much better green witch than I am. 🌻🖤 sunflowers are associated with luck, truth, loyalty and honesty.
