15 in Gaza (2014), Dir. Wesam Mousa.
It would be an understatement to say that I learned some very important life lessons during the making of this documentary. The subject of the film was my little sister, Shurooq, with a focus on her role within our family and her dreams and aspirations for the future. But this was not an easy project; it made me ask questions, both about myself and the society I live in, and even challenged some of the relationships within my family.
In my film, 15 in Gaza, I follow Shurooq as she tries to break down cultural and gender barriers – barriers that have started to become apparent to her as she reaches her 15th birthday.
This is a documentary about a 15 year old Palestinian girl named Shurooq, as filmed by her brother, and her struggle against societal restrictions as she tries to pursue her dream to become an architect in order to fix houses and buildings damaged by Israel’s continuous attacks and bombings. This is an amazing documentary and you can watch here.
Of course you don’t. Free college might hinder the school-to-prison pipeline your prison owning donors depend on

Actual quote, in context:
“I believe that we should make community college free. We should have debt-free college if you got to a public college or university. You should not have to borrow a dime to pay tuition… I disagree with free college for everybody. I don’t think taxpayers should be paying to send Donald Trump’s kids to college.“ [video link]
Don’t spread misinformation just to fit a narrative, Clinton is advocating for there to be a cap on who gets free college so that the government doesn’t have to subsidize the education of people with enough disposable income to pay for it themselves. The plan she’s proposing would have a better chance of being passed, is more cost-effective, and still opens up higher education to low-income individuals who previously couldn’t afford it.
