“Rise up, then. Mend your ways, start seeing what you are instead of calculating what you should become.”
— Franz Kafka, from a diary entry c. August 1916, featured in “Diaries,”
…I almost killed myself
I put on my sunglasses, to hide my swollen eyes, over my tears. I cried all my makeup off. Went inside to have a milkshake. I don’t know why. I wanted something to drink as I figured out what I would do. I got a soda and a milkshake. Medium. The cashier looked at me and with a line around the corner of the counter he rushed away from the counter “Hold on “ he yelled to a coworker.
I filled my soda and went back and saw him looking all over. I go up and he gets close and says “I made it a large”.
That was seriously enough for me not to do it. His kindness. Someone went out of their way and as I went back in my car to cry I realized I could muster through a few other days. A few more weeks. Then I came down from that panicky high of anxiety, depression, and pain. I finished my shake. And it was enough time to let me feel better. I… I’m alive. I’ll make it through.
Try and be nice today. Tomorrow. Something as much as a smile. It helped so much.
Thank you man at McDonalds.
The milkshake saved my life
I hope you all can read this and remember to be kind
The smallest of gestures can save a life. My Mum answered her phone when I called and I am alive today because of that.
I’m glad you’re here.
It’s a phone call, a milkshake, a friend.
I feel like I shouldn’t keep reblogging this but when I do more people see what kindness can do…. I don’t know. Love everyone as yourself.
Nah, keep rebloging it. It gives hope.

I’m currently in the process of raising $1,500 for it by January 31st! Any and all prayers and donations are welcome, God bless you all and thank you in advance :)

Hello friends!!! Happy New Year!
I have been given the amazing opportunity to go on a mission trip to Guatemala where I will be working with missionaries from Students International to serve the local community and share the Gospel with them.Â
In order to go on this trip, I have to raise $1,500 by January 31st. If any of you are willing to donate, that would be greatly appreciated!!! Absolutely any amount would be a huge blessing. I’m serious, even just a few dollars… It all helps and makes a difference! I’m a bit behind on my fundraising but I know the Lord will provide :)Â
Additionally, I would like to ask for prayer for me and my group as we fundraise and prepare our hearts, as well as for the people in Guatemala that we are going to be building relationships with!
Feel free to message me with any questions!
Peace and blessings, and thanks in advance for prayers and donations!
Still working on raising the money for this, just want to thank everyone who has been praying or donated so far!!! Many blessings :)
Make others want to know God because of you.
Do not ever, ever, ever think of asking people what you’re not already trying to do yourself. You can blog and preach and soapbox about whatever you want, but legit historical figures actually rolled up their sleeves and lived it out and let their life do the talking for them. It doesn’t matter how sloppy you pursue it: just do something. We don’t need another basement blogger or pretentious preacher. We need game-changers. Words about love sound pretty; actually loving people is messy. Be part of the mess.

I don’t want to see Jesus on judgement day and realize I just spent my short window of life just living for myself, for my own well-being, just to make it through and survive, and left nothing that glorifies Him. I want to leave a legacy of what love looks like, a legacy of faith.
God Is An Artist
“On the one day that God has consecrated for us to experience true rest, He commands us not only to relieve our neighbour of her tasks and responsibilities but to gather and fellowship with her. What a counterintuitive idea and a countercultural practice! Being with our neighbours is NOT in conflict with our rest, not is it ancillary to rest. Rather; it’s central.” (Kyle David Bennett, “Practices Of Love”) ⠀ I used to think Sundays had to be days of napping and sitting around doing nothing. In recent months I’ve grown to realize that while personal rest and self-care is good, it can also be idolized. A day of focusing only on myself and what I want isn’t really honouring to God, is it? Throughout the Scripture, whenever God commands His people to rest and take a Sabbath, there are always implications for others. There are always also instructions for fellowship with others. ⠀ The Sabbath isn’t for me to tune the world out and for me to focus on only myself. It’s a day that I can set aside to focus on God, to take a step away from the work I’ve been doing all week and to let His grace take care of the rest, and to enjoy the presence of those around me.
Complaining about a silent God with a closed Holy Bible, is like complaining about no text messages with a turned off phone.

God made us: invented us as a man invents an engine. A car is made to run on gasoline, and it would not run properly on anything else. Now God designed the human machine to run on Himself. He Himself is the fuel our spirits were designed to burn, or the food our spirits were designed to feed on. God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing.

Isn’t it amazing that God’s voice can make the mountains crumble and in that same voice speak love gently into your heart?
