Limbs paralyzed as the Fanalis captain stood there, wordless. Mu should have wept with joy to see Reim’s first magi with colour in her cheeks again. He only remembered the golden light that showered that, the magoi she released to save the future from the dark spot. Was she smiling then? Now, Titus stood in her place. He would obey the whelp as he did his Lady. Even so, since his boyhood in the Coliseum, she was the light of Reim. Always. A strong arm raised to salute her, and knees bent mechanically to bow.
"Aye… it’s m̸e̘̖, my Lady,” said Mu as he rose. A refined smile plastered his fine features, but his rosette eyes gazed on, wild and crazed. He swiftly drew his gladius from his sheath and pointed the tip at the magi. His skull felt as if it were cracking—don’t do this!—and his body futilely resisted the wretched glitches. Cursed be the city to let a good man fall into wretchedness. Overcome by maddening desires to protect—protect who?—Mu marched closer with heavy steps that pulverized the concrete beneath his sandaled feet.
"This is how nobility dies, mea domina. Sword in hand!” He swung his gladius, letting loose a thunderous shock wave. It battered against Scheherazade’s borg, but only distorted the shape briefly. The shell returned to its perfect spherical form. Mu clicked his frustrated tongue but rosette optics caught sight of the tiniest crack reflecting under the streetlight. His dark grin widened. The decadent city left her weakened, he knew, and the love of the rukh was gone. The captain was stronger now. This time, he swore off his helplessness. And Mu would surely save her from tragedy of the fall. "Please, give me the honour. Let me be your ̵s͏w͡͝͏o̢̡r̶͟d͏.”
Neither of the two were in their right mind, it seemed. Scheherazade saw nothing out of the 'ordinary' with Mu's demeanor, returning the smile with eyes just as crazed. She stepped closer to the Fanalis, stretching her arms wide, as if inviting him-- inviting him to do what? She stood there, waiting. Her eyes concentrated on the other's, the sword tip pointed at her barely given any mind.
"... heh."
"My swo̢̡r̶͟d͏.. you say?"
The sudden shockwave did not affect her. Not her mind, nor her body -- yet. Her smile grew ever wider, and quietly, slowly did she emit a low chuckle. She laughed, her voice growing higher and pitch, distorted and warped. Her borg was damaged, yes. She did not bother to thin it out or move it so that it would still serve as an effective barrier to guard her front; it would defend perhaps once or twice more before it shattered -- and yet she did not seem to care.
She called out to him, tone holding a clear challenge. Whether the haze returned her magic to her or not, it didn't matter. Right now, she could use it -- that was all. She raised her wooden staff high, and wind began to swirl around it -- slowly at first, then increasing in speed until it became a miniature tornado, with rocks of all sizes swirling within as it was picked up along the way.

With a swift, forward wave of her staff, the gusts, rocks and all, flew towards Mu at once. Though it may be too weak to make any fatal injuries, the least it could do was batter him, hinder him. She would continue doing this; continuously, endlessly. Her magoi never exhausted.
She was laughing. She laughed quietly, then loudly, then quietly again. Her voice cracked as she did though, as if it couldn't withstand the abnormal, out-of-place sounds it was trying to force out. And if you looked closer, although Scheherazade was smiling.. her cheeks were wet with tears.
