I’m 100% sure somebody else has already thought of this, but it just occurred to me so…

When Steven dies, Rose’s gem will no longer be a part of him. It’ll be free. Will Rose be able to form again?

Dying in order to allow Steven to exist seems like an awfully rash decision on Rose’s part… did she give up her physical form knowing that she would be able to return upon Steven’s death? Steven is an experiment, after all. Is Rose actually somewhat aware of what’s going on while her gem is a part of Steven’s body? She likes humans so much… is Steven a way for her to experience what it’s like to be one?

And furthermore… could she possibly be technically capable of reforming whenever she wants, thereby killing Steven?

Not that she’d do that, of course, but could she?
