Sewing mid-16th century Venetian dress in doll scale - Part 2
I mentioned in the first post that I was meaning to do sleeves for the dress, but lost my patience after failing at it, so I decided to let it go for now. Well, for now has gone and I finally did it after failing couple of more times. I also made a new chemise for the doll (which I also made a free pattern for), since I wasn't happy with the first one and I'm much happier with the second attempt. So without further ado, here's the Venetian Renaissance doll finally finished.
First the new chemise.
Then the new chemise with the dress.
And finally the whole dress!
After all the struggle I'm quite happy how the sleeves turned out!
"this movie doesn't hold up bcos of dated special effects :(" to you, maybe. i would clap at a bat on a string

Amazing!!!
Whatâs up its ya boy (gender neutral) back from the grave to yell about my worst doll opinion:
I still think Disney Descendants hands are the most beautiful and elegant hands available for playscale

Colleen Mooreâs fairy tale castle dollsâ house. Moore was one of the most successful silent film stars (famous for popularising the âDutch boyâ bob), and she started creating this dollsâ house in 1928. She enlisted the help of professional planners and architects, such as Horace Jackson, the set designer at First National Studios. The entire house can be broken down into individual pieces and packed into specially designed shipping crates, and from 1935 to 1939 Moore took the dollsâ house on tour through the U.S. to help raise money for childrenâs charities, which proved hugely successful. Moore gave the dollsâ house to the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago in 1949.
maybe a weird note but i like how bill and frank are very explicitly established as lovers, whilst joel and tess (the m/f couple) are still in the stage of "you and your friend" and "if my... if mine". yes, it absolutely breaks my heart as a tessjoel enjoyer, n i would've loved to see them as happy as bill and frank ended up being - but after years of queer relationships being strongly implied "friends" that involve far too much reading between the lines? it's oddly cathartic to see a m/f couple be infuriatingly implied whilst their queer counterparts are explicitly, visibly, whole-heartedly in love.
This is it, this is the thought I didnât know how to articulate

Love it! đ gaming merch for the win!
The bag is actually pretty perfect for dolls too, itâs a little bit padded.

I thrifted this Dream Dancer like 2 years ago and apparently never showed y'all what I did with her so here she is currently. I put her on a Descendants bod for a while, but I donât really like those bodies so I upgraded her recently to a modified DC Superhero Girls Katana bod, though I did swap the black glove hands for the Descendants ones.Â
I love her infinitely more on this body even if the neck is a smidge too long, enough to finally get another picture of her lmao
So cute! Also, controversial opinion, but Disney descendants hands are fantastic, I love them
