There’s a moment where her composure BREAKS. Carefully cured nails digging into skin--she almost feels blood, the same blood boiling at the notion.

SHE’S RIGHT. 

But just as much, SHE’S WRONG.

Of course he loves her. He doesn’t have any other choice. Whether he liked it or not, he was STUCK with her. Her and the beautiful family they made together...be it by force rather than by will. At least he was a good father... and he didn’t seem to complain much nowadays, then again, her own mother had the clever idea of tying her own husband down to the very same chair she did! With stronger restraints and a knife newly sharpened, that alone does wonders for something like love. Perhaps she did go a bit far... but she was in the right! All the expulsions, the rumors, the murders...it was all for the sake of love! She knew every last detail of his life, everything from his favorite color to what brand of shoe he put on that morning. Back then...it was all for love, so naturally he loved her back. It couldn’t be this woman was--

“ I’m afraid you’re mistaken. My darling and I are...we’re--in a VERY loving relationship! To think we’re still as hopelessly in love like in the good old days...! Ha....ha....” Her voice is far beyond strained, being faced with the inevitable after years of playing BLIND wasn’t something she ever prepared herself for. And she had her doubts as to how well crying now would do... “ We--we’re very much in love! In fact, our anniversary isn’t too far away... ” Who said she had to specify which one?

He was ALWAYS stalking and harassing me while I went around and did my business, I was just some girl in high school! I never did anything wrong... well, while that mess was going on, get this! The sick bastard called the cops on me! Accused me of murder, no less! Tryin’ to lock me up for crimes I never committed. All for his stupid career to take off, he was so disgusting... It’s not MY fault those girls got in trouble! And it’s not MY fault some of them ended up god knows where! Teenagers are always off doing stupid things, you know, it’s nothing new... his ‘career’s ruined now though. The case was heard all around the country, of course, I WON...but that’s not what you were asking. He’s just the WORST! ”

“ Oh, I’m not worried about that... ” She coos, maintaining her perfect exterior despite the HORRID situation being brought to light. “ My boy is very clever, you know. I’m sure he could handle things JUST FINE have it come down to it. Oh, I do hope he’s taken my advice to heart! Found a lovely girl, or maybe a boy--I’m not sure, he always did have a little something for that brown-haired boy...I wonder what happened to him? Haa... ” She knows. Of course she knows. He came home silent that day, reeking of death. Blood stained his clothes, and it’s not like she really needed to ask. He’s changed ever since... It’s something she’s a little too familiar with, although she’d defend him to the grave. Ryoba can only hope he felt the same! After all, Aishis do need to stick together -- blood was always thicker than water, be it through their veins or on the edge of a knife.

“ I’ll admit, I did teach him a few things here or there, though Hayato is almost naturally gifted... I doubt he needed my advice much at all! Can you imagine...? He’s just like his father, I’m sure Kenshin is proud of him too! Ah, did you know, he looks just like him when we both were young, I’m almost jealous... ha! Just kidding...! Though I’m sure any young lady would be happy to be his wife. I wonder if he’ll be just like his mother...our family always did marry young, it’d be nice to have a new part to this family by the time he graduates! ” It’s safe to say she’s very well lost in her own mind -- memories clouding any chance of coherency. She remembers her first few years of high school, and just as well the overwhelming love she had at first sight at meeting her beloved. Oh, the effort she put in into making him hers was endless! Even if she did have to put a few in their place, it was all worth it in the end. 

Barely a moment passes before her words turn to venom, poison staining every syllable and burning her as she speaks. “ May I ask, why you decide to bring this up now? Your wording implies such awful things, you haven’t heard any rumors from that pervert now, have you? You know as well as I that he’s a wretched man, he didn’t even BEGIN to think of the pain he put my family through! Ah, I suppose that doesn’t really matter now though, I was INNOCENT... and if my son is anything like his mother, he’s the same! I’ll never have to worry about what that awful man put my mother through ever again. ...Say, you haven’t happened to see him, have you...? Juuuuust wondering...I’ll appreciate the direction... ”

Playing so innocent, fingertips brush over her lips as memories play by -- it could be confused as as pure type of joy, as it well should be...for those who were blessed to stay a stranger. There’s a momentary shift in her stance, almost preparing for something or another... she was so used to the questioning. One after the other, detectives and stupid boys back in the day. Even her DEAR HUSBAND often questioned her back then! Oh, but he had learned... “ I don’t think I really have anything to regret! Aren’t I so lucky? ” The corners of her lips curl upward, though her hands fall behind her -- shying away before continuing. There’s a moment she almost seems hesitant. “ I have the most loving husband, and my darling child has grown up to be just like him! I’m so proud... Have you met my darling boy? I’m sure you’d like him very, very much! Ah-- ! ” She squeals in an almost-childlike excitement. Oh, how proud she was of her family! They’re so beautiful, they’re so happy...

“ ...I’m sorry, what was that you were saying again? You’ll have to forgive me, it’s a mother’s natural instinct to praise their family like this. My mother was the very same way you know! We’ve all been so VERY blessed with happy, healthy marriages and even better children. Even if there was, ah...a bit of a struggle along the way. Nothing a little--um--determination can’t handle! ”

    if you play ANY sort of villainous character - from a pick-pocket to a full-scale serial killer - and i follow you, please know that i’ve come into this FULL WELL what i’m signing up for. i don’t expect you to soften your character for me, i’m not going to complain when they aren’t nice to my characters, and i honestly probably love watching them do what they do. not all characters are going to be the “good guys”, or the type of villain that can be redeemed. not everyone has a tragic backstory that makes them do the things they do - some people enjoy it, others just do it because they can, and for some it’s all they know. yes, there are villains with a soft spot or two - this doesn’t mean they need to change everything. our characters become friends/lovers even though my character is a “good guy”? you keep doin’ you. keep stealing those purses, killing those people, burning those villages to the ground. 

        tl;dr - I DIDN’T FOLLOW YOU BECAUSE I WANTED SOMETHING SOFT AND EASY - you keep bein’ a villain, babe, cause you’re  just as excellent as the heroes.
