ONLY FRIENDS | Ep 2
Can I hire you to be my drinking buddy?
ONLY FRIENDS | Ep. 2
First and Khaotung in Only Friends เพื่อนต้องห้าม l Official Trailer
i don't usually notice this type of thing bc well, brain, but there's something about ray's body language that got my attention a little and i wonder if it's on purpose (it probably is).
unless he's drinking/drunk...
ray keeps his arms crossed most of the times when holding conversations with people.
it doesn't happen all the time, though, like when the F4 are presenting their project to their teacher.
but even when he's only with them, ray keeps his hands to himself.
when he's alone, he doesn't have them crossed.
but the moment there's someone else with him, he crosses them again.
and only uncrosses when being confrontational/rude (about the possibility of sand stealing from him).
during the montage, he's either sleeping, posing, eating or being filthy jealous, so i won't count that.
during the do you have a lighter scene, ray has his arms crossed most of the time.
and only uncrosses them when he's about to be sincere about his apology to sand and thank him for saving his life.
and when he asks again for the lighter, his hands are clasped behind his back.
the behavior comes back in the preview of this week's episode, too, which was what caught my attention the most tbh, and made me go back and watch his scenes again.
what is the point i'm trying to make? i have no idea. it was just interesting to me to see how a character that was described as a playboy/player for most of the promotional stuff can make himself look small whenever there isn't enough alcohol in his system.
You're a bar singer. Do you have a one-night stand very often?
"light it for me."
👁️👄👁️.
mew: I love that my bf gets along with all my friends :)
ray: sure jan.
If you go on, it won't be just friends anymore.
ONLY FRIENDS THE SERIES (2023) Episode 2
I thought there was an interesting juxtaposition between Ray and Sand's homes. Both use the same color palette (blue/teal, cream, and brown). Both have music as the predominant decor (Sand's posters, Ray's albums).
But these similarities highlight their differences - specifically class differences. Sand's home looks lived in, a bit run down, the floor is scuffed, the paint is chipped. Ray's house is specifically designed to highlight his wealth, it's supposed to be elegant but it's also kind of soulless.
Sand's posters are stuck on the wall haphazardly as a cacophony of color to highlight Sand's favorite bands. Ray uses the records themselves as art, perfectly spaced and symmetrical. Sand's guitar is out and ready to be played. Ray has a full sound system, but how much does he really listen to his record collection, given that he immediately refers to them as his mother's, not his, and so there's probably some sadness attached to them. Ray's home is carefully crafted, but how much does it actually say about Ray's tastes and interests?
This is making me think of Moonlight Chicken, and its contrast between Heart's house and Li Ming's house (Rath Roongrueangtantisook was the cinematographer for both, I'm not sure who else on the production team) but instead of contrasting the locations with different colors, it uses the same colors to highlight the contrast.
ray in episode two + smiling because of sand
fully sober and lucid walking down the street googling "is it normal to get a haircut" "am i allowed to get a haircut" "is the guy at the barber shop going to be mad at me when i go in there"
neil overhears matt saying something about “blowing his load” and incorrectly assumes matt is talking about shooting a gun. then proceeds a comical series of misunderstandings where neil is trying to subtly give him prep and cleaning advice while matt delightfully thinks that neil finally trusts him enough to open up about his sex life. neil is slightly concerned about the glee in matt’s eyes whenever they talk about murder, but he isn’t one to judge his friend and assumes his friend has his reasons for killing people since matt seems to be a reasonable guy. he also is grateful that matt trusts him enough to tell neil about all the murders he commits. they proceed to have this strange and cryptic bonding experience for an entire semester before they realize something isn’t adding up
kang yohan moments that live in my head rent free pt 1/?
Every. Single. Time. Neil got bandaged for some reason, Andrew would do this thing where he'd peel off Neil's bandages to see his injuries and on the one hand I get it. The homoeroticsm is off the charts and it's his way of showing concern and asking what happened but on the other hand. Andrew my man those bandages are there for a reason.
Nicky: I can’t believe Neil ignored us all winter break! He better be dying.
Neil: Hey guys, sorry I ignored you all winter break. I was dying.
Nicky: I take it back I take it back I take it back I take it back.
