Social media represents a huge world where you can find different people from different areas that have different attitudes and minds. There are people who look for entertainment, there are people who look for making friends and relationships, they are people who look for knowledge, it is depends on how do they think and if they aware of using social media in a safe manner or not !
(
pic from: http://ourdream9.blogspot.com)
Any place have lots of human real activities must be controlled by rules and ethics that make the system more safety on it.
The advantages of social media that related to ethics:
1) The practice of many activities in social media helps to get closer and communicate with others.
2) It opens doors that enable the launch of innovations and projects that achieve goals and help the community to grow.
3) Communicate with the outside world, share ideas, learn about peoples' cultures and bring distance.
The disadvantage of social networking sites that related to ethics:
1) Lack of control and some users not feeling responsible.
2) Frequent rumors and exaggeration in transferring events.
3) Some discussions are away from mutual respect and non-acceptance of the other opinions.
4) Lack of privacy leads to moral, psychological and material damage.
There are many ethics that people must follow in social media to make it safer like:
We don't have to harm others by our words, Abuse is not just in body but words can harm people and effected on them more than physical abuse. We have to be nice with others the way we want them to be nice with us, and accepting others criticism with a warm welcome, also we must Respect digital content ownership and don't think of steal others content.

The education is a key for students to build personality and society, it increase the student chances to live well, and have a really good life.
There are two kinds of education, free and non-free. Free education refers to "education that is built and financed either by the impossible of financial taxes or by charitable societies rather than by school fees", like primary and compulsory education which is free in many countries.
How do free education developed the national society ?!
Education is a great message in the community to have very good Behaviors and ideas that reflect conscious thought and we will get this if we have a free education effectively.
The education message focused on success and aim to make students who respect society by respecting themselves and learn the methods of dialogue as well as moving away from violence that harms the education process. Also education is means to innovation, it should provide a space for scientific research which will make students think in a critical way. free education will achieve all of this goals strongly.
In order to have a healthy and a successful society in all aspects of life, society who cares about the good behaviors and good attitudes, countries have to provide the free education if it wanted to be progress at all levels and fields of life as economic, political, social and cultural aspects.

Social media is a very useful area, for getting different knowledge in different fields of life and sharing views from all the world. we can get lots of benefits from being on social media and use it, but everything have a dark side besides the bright one, and we will know more about this later.
I have met Abd-Aziz Al-riyami from Izki, who use different networking sites, and I asked him how is social media affecting boy's issues and how it doesn't, what is good what's bad about using social media sites for boys.
He replied: The benefits of social media on boys are: form social media we can exchange experiences in all life aspects, we will achieve that by conversations with friends and people we don't know but we contact by social media sites. By social media we can get lotes of information that we don't have in the reality, we discuss lot's of issues that we can't discuss in the real life or face to face, we can also know how others think by being in social media and reading what people write and post, this make us understand the difference of ways that people have. It's a very wonderful area for people who are creative, like people who write, people who sing, people who drawing and so on.
Then he talk about the dark side of social media on boys: sometimes the difference make problems between people, so they start dispute each other and this is really bad and must not happened at all. Also some boys use social media to take the attentions of girls and dating them even if they know society don't accept that. In addition social media change the behaviors of boys, like distant virtual society and just using social media and love the "hypothetical" person that they are showing in social media more than the real person that they are in reality !

Nowadays, social media has become a very important tool, to keep connected with all people around the world, also people can't know what is happening around the area without social media, it's the key to be widely known and popular, the key to share information and what are you thinking about things, how people think and how do you deal with differences of ideas, customs, forms and so on.
People use social media in different purposes for example: activism, education, information, sells and branding. It is also used as a source of news. Being on social media is a positive experience, it makes us feel good and enjoy using it.
Content is substantial in social media sites, beside the language that users used in every site, and the understanding of private policies. First of all content must be clear, simple, short and creative in order to attract audience to your own ideas "good content on social media is right content for the right person on the right time".
Language is the context that you reached through your thoughts, each networking site has different language that the users must understand in order to use it well. It must be simple, clear and creative.
About the private policies, social media is a fun area but complicated at the same time so people have to be careful and responsible when thy use it, users must understand each site private policies to protect themselves and to keep their information in the save side.

Social Media effect on language "arabizy".

The modern means of communication have turned the balance of use of language, media and websites have mastered the creation of new terms and exotic words, that's increase the gap between the new generation of modern technology users, the new media and experts.
Arabic is one of languages which has been effected by social media mightily, E-mail messages, social media, blogs and websites imposed a new written language that was filled with new expressions. Users use it in cartoons, images, symbols and signs in e-mail and social communication as a way to express feelings and emotions instead of Arabic words!
The phenomenon of poor linguistic performance and grammatical and spelling errors in the new media are the most common mistakes, has become a real problems facing the Arabic language in the era of globalization.
The new generation of social media have created new language in order to make it easy to communicate. This language is "Arabizy" mix of English and Arabic which has lots of shortcuts, in order to make it easier to use as much as possible.
Negatives of using this language:
The constant use of this language leads to forget the mother language, with its rich vocabularies, and the expansion of using alternative language not only in social media but by day after day, it will be used in daily conversations Rather than using the basic language as usual.
Positives:
Easy and interesting language to use in a world that characterized by shortness and speed, youth and the new generations of new media users are attracted to everything that is new, distinctive and easy to use.
Suggestions:
New generations should be aware of the importance of language, not only in everyday life conversations but in social networking sites, and should be urged to balance between the use of new communication methods without losing their native language.

Twitter has announced that it has made changes to the privacy policies and terms of services that came into effect immediately on all accounts outside the United States.
Twitter international company will be responsible for non-US accounts data under the Irish privacy and Data Protection, which based on the guidelines governing protection of data issues by the European Union.
The EU is currently working on updating these guidelines. The draft law requires individuals to give special approval before thier personal data can share. The draft takes into accounts where the expansion of the concept of "right to forget", the users right to delete their data.
It also means that: "When you visit a site that features a tweet button or an embedded tweet, Twitter is able to recognize that you’re on that site and use that information to target you with ads. And now it’s going to hang onto that information for a bit longer but give you more control over it". Source: https://www.google.com/amp/s/marketingland.com/know-twitters-latest-privacy-policy-update-215112/amp
This changes will apply to all Twitter services that comply with terms of service and privacy policies, including Digits and periscope and every change will be clear for all users.
The changes apply is due to increasing of Twitter users around the world. They said that They have expended their operations to improve the way they support Twitter users globally, and these changes reflect this expansion and butter reflect their services that deliveres to users.
Users of Twitter out side America who Forms 77% from all users, will be the most affected of changes as a result of the number they constitute.
For me, I think It's not fair to apply changes for just non-US users, if they want change something, they must apply it for all users around the world to be fair enough !

The representation of Omani identity in social media.
Written by Safa Al Riyami
10th, October, 2017
Social media aims to growth, vigilance, cultural and civilizational harmony and raising the level of public opinion. It also opened the way for human interaction, and provides an opportunity for reflection, discussion, and exchange of information in various fields. Identify the content of the media material, verify its impact, identify who is behind it, and determine the goals it wants to reach through what it broadcasts.
Citizens from all countries are dealing with social media, it’s different from place to another one, depending to the circumstances. The users give a light or a picture about their country, even the ideas or the way of thinking in that spot of earth.
Here in Oman, the users off course give a picture about Oman, most of users are quiet so they give idea that Omani people are quite in reality.
Also in Oman lots of users of social media put the picture of his majesty sultan Qaboos, they give by that an image that they are satisfy about ruling of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos and the security is stable in Oman, in addition to they love and glorify him as an Icon that will never be repeated.
The Omanis are putting their personal pictures in social media site’s profiles wearing traditional clothes, reinforcing the image of belonging to the state and their attachment to national identity, most of their replies in social media are defensive due to the strong pertinence between them and the country.

The use of satire in social media on (advertisement on unhealthy food) !

The SATIRE spread among people in a remarkable way in our society. They take the important, hot and even simple issues with a comic spirit. The most important question is why these people are laughing and comment on a very serious situation? Is this due to repression or because of the social and economic conditions in which they live?
Social media such as Twitter, Facebook and WhatsApp have contributed to the dissemination of the spirit of humor and jokes among many people in our society. Some of them have lost the importance of the subject or event to make it a very cynical subject, by Humor.
Advertising is one of the fields where you found satire closely between the companies, it’s like a competition between the various companies to attract the consumer, whether visual or audiovisual, which makes people tend to spend money on the product being promoted. But there are always wars that are declared and tumultuous among the different brands that make it interesting to see.
There is a big satire between MacDonald and Barger king and it’s a fierce propaganda war between the two fast-food companies since the first day, and no one of them was afraid of attacking directly on each other in their respective advertisements.
Also, Pepsi and Coca-Cola are the world’s two largest soft drinks companies, and the propaganda and polarization warfare between them has been going on since the 1970s.
Finally the phenomenon of humor and ridicule is present in our cultures, and behind it political, economic and social aspects, they use it to empty Their concerns through using jokes, and now social networking sites have shown that people have a sense of humor, whether it is a hot issue or even a social phenomenon.

Nowadays, social media become a very important tool, To keep up with what's going on around the world. And being close to people lives that we care about, and the organizations that we deal with or celebrities that we interested in.
Oman is one of the countries which use social media in Its government and private Institutions, to keep the audience know whatever happened about the organization that they deal with or care about.
People in Oman use social media for different purposes like:
Sharing their different moments with people around them, whether it's sad or happy moments but Its directly effect thier lives. they use it also to express their opinions among the Political, social, cultural and economic issues.
The most Sites of social media that Omani people use are: Facebook, twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat, tumblr SoundCloud and so on.
In my opinion Facebook was the most popular site that omanis visit, but now Twitter is more used due to political and social updates that happened in the area and encourage people to share their views and contribute to change.
There are many organizations which believe in strength of social media in audience here, like Omantel, Oreedo telecommunication company and Royal Oman police.
Whether you are a person or an organization, you are the one WHO chose if you want to live, and be side by side close to the world or die, and no body knows about what you are really are and what you do in this huge world !
