Please do okay? You are so important, and you deserve to live and to experience so many other and new things. Please reach out to someone. It’s okay to do so.
Really. It’s okay. You can do this, it’s not attention seeking or pathetic or whatever. It’s okay.
Feeling Down Today?
Here’s a checklist of things that might help:
• Have you gotten enough sleep? If not, take a nap if you can.
• Have you eaten?
• Did you drink any water today?
• Have you hurt yourself recently? If so, please make sure you clean and cover it. I know it’s hard to take care of yourself right now, but you will appreciate it later.
• It’s okay to take some time to get going. Everyone works at different paces, so if you need a moment to lay down, think, plan, lament about the stuff you need to do, take that moment.
• Find someone to pamper you today.
• Do you need to be left alone right now? Weigh the pros and cons. If you feel like you’re possibly a danger to yourself, maybe being alone is not the best idea. If you feel like company is just too much for you today, it’s okay to want a day to yourself.
• Find someone who you can be comfortable around, who won’t judge you when you’re feeling down.
• If you can’t find anyone to talk to, or help you, here are some different places you can talk to someone:

• You’re allowed to feel depressed, angry, anxious, etc. There’s no rules against feeling and expressing yourself.
• You don’t have to talk about it.
• You can talk about it. Your problems are real.
• If you can, try to get out of the house. Even for a minute, like, a literal minute. You can curl back up afterwards, it’s okay.
• Don’t be afraid, you’re not alone.
• If a situation, or person is making you depressed, hurt, angry, anxious, etc, avoid it/them today, if possible. Try not to interact with them in anyway, and if you can’t avoid it, try to keep a part of you detached from the situation. Keep a part of you safe, and remind yourself that this is not all you are. This person or situation does not make up your life.
• Have you done something nice for yourself today? Even a small thing.
• Take a deep breath. Hold it. Count to 5. Let it out.
• Been curled up most of the day? Take a moment to stand, stretch out your limbs and spine, wiggle your hands, make a silly face.
• There is no ‘All-or-nothing’. Just because you feel you ‘failed’ in some way, does not make you a failure. Just because you couldn’t do a certain something or help a specific person does not make you a failure.
• You succeeded in making it through another day, and that’s amazing. Give yourself credit for that.
• Have you been hugged today? Do you like hugs? Get yourself a hug. I’ll give you a hug.
• If you don’t like hugs or being touched, don’t let people touch you just to make them comfortable. Today is your day, this life is your life, and this is your body. They have no right to do something against your wishes, even if they think it’s ‘normal’ for people to want hugs and to be touched.
• Normal is not perfection. Normal is not hurting yourself to suit someone else’s standards.
• Don’t focus on ‘I should have’ or ‘If I only’ today. If you can, try to think about the one thing you can do right now. Need to sweep? Focus on only that. Don’t worry about what’s next, just what’s in the moment.
• Pet a cute animal, if you like cute animals.
• Go to that AA meeting, don’t skip it today.
• Got a therapist appointment today? Try not to skip, it might end up being the thing you need.
• Have you spoken today?
• Have you taken your medication today?
• Do not stop taking your medication suddenly, you will suffer some bad effects. Taper off slowly, as directed by your therapist or doctor.
• You don’t need to have a reason for feeling depressed.

Hey, I've struggled with self harm since I was a child, had been good for a few years but recently been in a dark place mentally. I suffer from OCD & GAD somsomtimes I can't coup lately I've resorted to cutting again. Ended up in hospital this time, therapist advised that doing this would be a good idea.
